No, it was Nicholai, the most promiscuous of the "fab four" Freddie, Kenny, nicholai and Pepe.. Here's a random thought... Just thinking about Jim Hutton. It's amazing now if you think about it how Jim must have been living with the disease since the late 80's at least and now we're in 2005 and he's still doing remarkably well (as far as I know). Too bad medicine even in the early 90's wasn't as advanced as it is now or we may still have our Freddie. But I'm sure he's "living" a peaceful existence now up in heaven. God bless him. |

If Freddie had survived til 1996 he would probably still be alive with HIV today! In 1996 they came up with the "cocktail" treatment which uses a combination of AZT along with Protease inhibitors which basically block HIV replecation. Back in 1991 the only real treatment was basically AZT which does help in some people...AZT can also make you gain wait...if you look at Freddie in 1986/87 it was plainfully clear that he had started AZT treatment because he looked a little bloated...86 was the year that AZT became available in the UK. |

Truth is, there is no way to tell when Freddie contracted AIDS. He may have very well contracted it in the late 70's. While we have people like Magic Johnson, and Jim Hutton that have lived 14-17 years with the disease, the average, according to the Mayo clinic, in 2004 is 12.2 years after becoming HIV positive. If this is the average, then that would average Freddie contracting around 1979. And Rock Hudson contracting around 1973. Anyway you look at it, its sad. |
