A date in Scotland?? |

Brian is teasing us isn't he? There's a silhouette of Freddie holding a microphone in the background over a large crack in a wall. Is Paul's face in there somewhere? What does it mean? Stadium gig in the summer? Release of a Queen Anthology set? Who really knows. |
| Hankster 31.01.2005 04:51 |
very exciting! .. I think it's the new cd, where Roger talked about; some new tracks with Bri, Rog and Paul sharing vocals and some older new songs with Freddie on vocals.. Or .. maybe te announcement that Deacy will come back :P (oh .. here we go again :P) |

Or .. maybe te announcement that Deacy will come back :P (oh .. here we go again :P)Very exciting indeed.....(don't get going on Deacy again). I too think it could be the new CD but don't think there will be any Freddie vocals somehow. Maybe it's too early for a new CD.....they're too busy rehearsing for the tour? It could be.....who's going to provide main vocals on a new collabaration. Must be Paul. They exhausted all Freddie's lyrics after releasing MIH. Why do you think they reworked Made In Heaven, My Life Has been Saved etc. Also, any extra tracks with Freddie were released as B-sides to The Miracle singles... Stealin' springs to mind. I could be wrong. I wish Brian would open up. Such a tease! |
| Hankster 31.01.2005 05:34 |
well, roger once said that they were wroking on new material and that Paul, Bri AND roger will do the mainvocals... And I wouldn't be surprised if they did some Freddie tracks too; they could at least use some b-sides like Stealing or edited versions of Self Made Man (I love that intro), Feelings and I Go Crazy (great riff! .. and the "let's go, lets go!, LETS GO!" is also nice.. hehe) I think that such a new cd could be awesome! :D Ow .. wait .. A Queeny version of Keep on Running .. ow yeahh! .. it's Roger's best vocal track imho, and a Brian solo would be awesome on this track :D |

RohemianBapsody wrote: Or the cover for the new LIVE albumGreat idea......maybe the Brixton gig is been lined up for a DVD/CD release but as Brian released Live At The Brixton Academy maybe a DVD/CD of many shows on this tour is in the making. Live Killers 2 would be great with additional back stage footage, interviews and quotes. Exciting prospect don't you think? |

If you right click on the pic, and then "Save As" it is listed as "Trailer" Interesting ........ |
| FairyKing 31.01.2005 20:10 |
I think they'll say the 'official' band members for this tour, Spike Edney and this bass player no-one knows about... He'll announce also some sold-outs, no smoking...he'll be saying thanx to the fans... I think so at least..Then he'll say we're working hard rehearsing and that maybe there will be some stadiums gigs later... |
| Richard Lopata (new email) 01.02.2005 06:17 |
ok ... a Freddie logo, and the word 'trailer' a WWRY-musical DVD? |
| English Bowman 01.02.2005 06:32 |
Well they did show a film of WWRY at the convention last year, so it does exist and is entirely possible that they are putting it out in order to have a "product" to coincide with the tour. Daniel |
| the-rock 4283 01.02.2005 07:52 |
its a wwry logo... so the announcment might have sth to do with the musical.... |
| yellownymph 01.02.2005 09:33 |
Maybe the announcement is that actually Deacy is going on the tour. I really hope it's not something WWRY related cause that would be SUCH a dissappointment, although I fear it is. It must be something big cause Brian would know what putting such a thing on his website would do to the fans, and he wouldn't want it to be an anti climax when it is revealed. |
| The Mir@cle 01.02.2005 09:36 |
Don't think so yellownymph. (see link Does it have something to with the "Disaster Emergency Committee"? That logo is shown above. |

the-rock wrote: its a wwry logo... so the announcment might have sth to do with the musical....Are you sure it's the WWRY logo? How do you know that or are you just guessing. Have I missed something? I think Roger has said that he is not a big musical fan so I wonder..... Haven't been keeping abreast of things lately but the tour has rekindled some interest in spin off things like WWRY and after show parties etc. Am not a regular convention fan and I only glance at the FC magazines. I would be disappointed if this "teaser" from Brian was a WWRY logo as I would much prefer to have somthing more direct involving Bri, Rog and Paul. I'll have to keep waiting and hoping I guess. |

| the-rock 4283 01.02.2005 11:05 |
of course i'm not shure, but i think that its the same logo than the wwry. freddie plus the red special to his feet like in the wwry logo... |
| Norman 01.02.2005 11:12 |
It is definitely the background for the WWRY logo as used for the Spanish version of the show. The cracked rock is the crumbling ruins of Wembley and the image of Freddie is holding the Red Special guitar. My guess is either something to do with WWRY (probably the Spanish version) or maybe it's a hint. In WWRY the Red Special appears from inside the cracked Wembley gatepost. Maybe it's to do with Brian's new commercial version of the Red Special - very similar to the Burns one but he will be marketing it himself. If it's tour related then I think it may be to do with the announcemnt of a summer "stadium" concert though that should be announced through the official channel of QOL rather than Brian's site. |
| We Are The Champions 01.02.2005 17:04 |
It's been staring me in the face....it is the WWRY logo. How the hell could I miss that! Check this out. link Interesting isn't it. Look at the crowd! |

I think Brian will announce WWRY Holland, since I heard WWRY will come to Holland in August 2005. I hope he announces a new CD, but I think it will be the next chapter in the WWRY Musical. |
| The Mir@cle 02.02.2005 02:39 |
Hmmm, that would be a strange moment for launching a new musical... Just between the European and American tour? Aren't they busy enough yet? |
| Hankster 02.02.2005 05:41 |
nah .. I don't think so; - Bri and Rog said they were slowing down with the musical - it would be a strange moment between the 2 tours and august isn't in the musical season.. - the other musicals didn't had this special announcement so what makes the Dutch WWRY so special? - They said that there wouldn't be a WWRY musical in The Netherlands, and if there will; then would be 2 concerts be a much better promotion for it... It will be the new cd .. I'm sure :) |

What else can I say?! You're right! ;-) WWRY WILL come to Holland. (And B and R just said THEY were going to ease down on WWRY. Course, the thing doesn't need any promotion anymore! ;-) |

But however .. such a special announcement at the World Wide Web just for the I don't know how many edition of the WWRY musical .. and than even in this little country at the Northsea .. while it is playing in neighbour countries like Germany and UK .. What would be so special about it that the Dutch WWRY gets more attention than the other ones? ..just doesn't make any sense nah .. it's the new cd, people :) |

Who knows how many others have similar qualities. Let Me Live didn't turn out too bad either. You never know what they could come up with from the leftovers. |

When I visited last november a client of mine , we spoke all about music and musicals , he is a great fan of musicals!! He works at the theatre where mama mia is now running (beatrix theater ,utrecht) he told me that they would stop the Mama (boring boring bonring) Mia show, and Queen's WWRY would be the follow up, starting this august!!! I posted a topic with that subject , but only few carred about this... Well personally why would they announce it so soon...the musical only starts this august?? They'd better promote it at the rotterdam gig in april... Well personally I think it has something to do with a new release, but I wouldn't be a dvd because they just released a new one... Maybe the long awaited boxsets?????? Well we can only hope, I'll advise : have in your mins that the suprise will be a 500,- euro limited WWRY musical boxset, with the perfomances of LAS VEGAS, COLOGNE and LONDON on DVD, including sweaty hot worn panties of the hot girlie stars which are on sage every evening.... Then the release (most likely GHIV) would be a real nice suprise indeed.... Have fun, have sex, some your longs out of your body, enjoy your life.... Sikke |
| Brian_Mays_Wig 02.02.2005 17:49 |
I'd be surprised if it has anything to do with the musical, although the logo is there. Brian has never built up a new production of the musical before, and with the tour not far away people are gonna think its something to do with that. |
| RohemianBapsody 02.02.2005 19:04 |
Unless he has been working his ar*e off behind the scenes I doubt he would have time to get another production started with the normal attention to detail. |
| Benn 03.02.2005 06:22 |
The way it appears "to me" is that Brian has now passed most, if not all of his responsibilities for WWRY to other peolpe - the musical is now established with a successful formula and doesn't need his constant vigilance. All the press quotes so far have pointed towards Brian focusing ALL his energies onto the tour. I would expect the special announcement to revolve around making ALL of the shows on the tour available on CD in a similar way to this: link More and more bands are doing this these days in an effort to beat the bootleggers which is absolutely their right and all makes for a nice souvenier of the event you attended. I'm certain that it's not NEW material, simply because there have been no stories relating to recording sessions coming out from any channels. I'm also certain that it won't be anything to do with the fabled Anthology - I think we can all write that project off now for ever. Or until QPL pull their fingers out of their arses and get someone to bring it all to fruition. Only other option is an announcement of a UK stadium date - perhaps Crystal Palace or even the Milennium Stadium, Cardiff - in the summer. Or, and here's an off-the-wall one, an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.......... |

JPJ Interesting, if true, but if it is, let's hope you don't get any irritating keyboard solos. But, if Spike IS on the tour, then JPJ will soley playing bass. And that would be VERY exciting. I wonder if that's being used as a warm-up for JPJ to getting back to playing to large audiences again? With Cream re-forming in May, whose to say that Led Zep won't decide to give it a go. That would put the Queen tour into the shade for certain! |
| wstüssyb 03.02.2005 11:49 |
be sweet if it was really true that J. Paul will be the bass player, IMO he's alot better then Deaky. |
| Brian_Mays_Wig 03.02.2005 11:56 |
Id be very suprised. JPJ appears in public less than our very own JD! |
| We Are The Champions 03.02.2005 12:11 |
JPJ.....never. |
| Jjeroen 03.02.2005 12:16 |
Wow! I have to say, I think JPJ's playing technique would change the sound of 'Queen' quite radically. He hasn't got the groovy, funky thing John D could do so well. But his sound is very thick and heavy, which would probably fit very well to the new sound 'Queen' will have, when they go back to bas(s)ics with Paul Rodgers! I am a very big Zeppelin freak and JPJ joining, to me, would be a real kick! If it's him, I'd be very content! Apart from that: I don't think the special anouncement has something to do with the new tour. I'm sure, for anything related to the upcoming tour, they would never use an image of Freddie! What you say, Brian_Mays_Wig, is not realy true! He still does a lot of session work and production work for other artists. Besides that, he had two solo-albums out the last couple of years and he has done quite some extended touring. (Saw him in Holland about... hmmm, what was it... 2 years ago?? |

link If you look at the timeline, there's something below June/Jul/Aug that states "possible stadium date". I'm sure that this is what teh announcement will be, however, if you look at the picture here: link The text on there says "Watch this space..........for special announcement" - now, to my mind, there should be an "a" between "for" and "special" for it to be grammatically correct, which leads me to thinking that this is something created by sonmeone that doesn't have the best command of written English for an official announcement. By extension, I have a suspicion that this is something to do with something happening in Europe. Or it might not be....... :-> |
