Well it's a Queen Fan forum so when somebody says something about their favorite band being not resposible for a song that is actually 100% theirs then well... you get a response.
for fucks sake. is this a wind up.. on the early albums it says who sings what... why you'd need it is beyond me (another clue freddie wrote it) i cant think of any freddie songs he wrote & didnt sing
It's called a fake accent.
Actually, it may be closer to his real voice than his regular singing voice. Which brings me to a question...
How come British singers usually sing with American accents, but speak with regular British accents...?

Its Freddie for god's sake! He did it in a "music hall" or vaudeville type voice because its that type of song similar to what was done in the 1920's. If he did it in his normal voice it wouldn't have sounded right.
I actually laughed out loud the first time I heard this song.
My first Queen album was Greatest Hits, which I bought just for We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. But some reason I couldn't fathom, Bohemian Rhapsody, which was the only other Queen song I knew, wasn't on it (this was the American version of Greatest Hits). Anyway, it turns out I really enjoyed all the songs on Greatest Hits, so I figured I'd buy the whole album Bohemian Rhapsody was on. I was going to just skip right to it the first time I played the album, but the title of the first song, "Death on Two Legs," sounded cool, so I listened to it. It was awesome! It rocked, and yet almost had a classical feel to it. There was so much venom in the singing and screaming in the guitar that it was just overwhelming. Then it finishes and before I have the chance to catch my breath, it launches into the ridiculous, charming "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon." It was just such a complete 180 that I had to laugh. At that point I knew this album was something special. By the time I got to the end of the album, I didn't even care about Bohemian Rhapsody anymore.
you see thats queen a kaleidoscope of styles, its like seaside rendevouz of the same lp, not freddie's normal singing voice, but its the image he wanted to portray
