from the Rolling Stone article: "Another possibility is a version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that would see Rodgers trade vocals with a video image of Freddie Mercury"
I think it would be absolutely horrendous...who's with me?
Well, we've discussed this before. As I said then: the idea alone is discusting enough to make me puke. Realy, a duet with a videowall would be a disgrace. Íf they do this I will sell all the tickets to all the concerts I'm still to attend.
(But I'm kinda sure that BM, RT AND Paul are people of good enough taste to see that this plan was horrendous. I'm not taking this gossip seriously, but then again, if it turns out to be true afteral...)

I am definitely.
I've read this as well on Paul Rodgers'website. Please don't do this.....terrible idea and totally horrendous as you say. I'd rather them skip the whole thing than even attempt this. No One But You is an adequate tribute to Freddie in itself. If it is played, give Paul the freedom to sing it in his own style.......other people have.... Tony Vincent for one in WWRY. It sounds like a cop out to me....trying to get round playing a masterpiece with as little input from a new vocalist as possible. Paul is an excellent singer and I'm sure that he will give his full input without having to rely on tapes/video images.

Bravo!... take a puke bucket or sick bag just in case!
There's already another thread about this topic I thought. But there's nothing wrong with remembering the power and magic of one Freddie Mercury, even during these concerts.
It's utter nonsense if one is gonna puke when he sees and hears Freddie sing Bohemian Rhapsody.
Especially when you should be in a Queen-mood enjoying all those songs again, live.
It could be just the thing that makes the memory of the past Queen concerts complete.
I just cannot believe that IF the guys do this, it will be done in a way to shame Freddie or the Queen past.
They will do it in style.
Amen. :-)
What could be fun though is a duet with the crowd. Freddie doing his deyo's from a big screen to the crowd like the way they kicked off the Tribute concert would be cool.
I agree with Rien. Last year i was At the concert of the Doors in Holland, and they also played some images of Jim Morrison during a song, most of the people enjoyed this and so did I. I think it is good to pay some tribute!

Well, Rien, if they show Freddie singing, sure, fine. But we were talking about the rumour of Paul Rodgers doing a DUET WITH Freddie on biG screen! Something slightly different but a lot less tastefull to say the least.
Perhaps not your cup of tea (or most of you) but (I admit it, hehe) I have a dvd from Barbra Streisand in which she sings a duet with Marlon Brando (his image from the past is on the screen) and she did a duet with herself! (her character from Yentl on the screen and she herself in front of it)
The first one was funny, but the last one, with herself, was breathtaking.
Now, it doesn't matter who is singing, I'm just saying I can imagine the situation.
Believe me, if Paul is singing a duet with Freddie, each doing different voices/lines from this song, then it can be something special.
But of course we're ahead of things, complaining about or defending situations that perhaps won't happen at all.
Rien, I know this is off-topic, but I noticed you are going to include Jewels II on your website's items.
Are you planning on uploading at least a sample, if not the full version, of the remix of Teo Torriatte?
That would be a wrong thing to do, wouldn't it?
Let's say you did not ask this. :-)
EDIT:
btw the cd cost me $40.
Dutch custom will add $15 or $20 because I import this cd from Japan. So they "punish" me for buying something that cannot be bought in The Netherlands. But as I want this cd "now", I'm not complaining. And I'm buying it for the "rare" tracks on this cd.
Perhaps you should make the same effort instead of trying to get this for free?
I think it would be OK if the sound was similar between Paul & the Freddie image.
I think doing the deyos is worse as this would be too much (although I will still reply !)
