I was listeing to that song yesterday...
Exacly at 3:00 in the song there begins some very low voice singin... you can hear it very well if you only listen to one of the speakers...
I just wanted to know WHO SINGS THIS ???
Can't be Freddie or Roger, their voices are too high. Freddie tried singing low whilst singing Brian's bits in Who Wants To Live Forever in the Wembley Magic show. Must be Brian. Or John perhaps?
Mike Stone - no, he was in GOFLB though
Brian - too low for him. He could technically sing those notes, perhaps, but it doesn't mean it was him. Technically he could also sing the bridge of Sail Away Sweet Sister but there's a reason he let Fred do it
John - Everybody who can speak "can" sing (defining it as doing a melody). But judging by his speaking voice and the fact he probably didn't have much practice as vocalist, that note is, first, too low for him, second, too "proffessional" for him, third, the timbre doesn't match him, fourth, neither does the accent
Fred - He could sing very low, in fact that "find me somebody to love" thing isn't even the lowest he sang in that song. At the end of the interlude he sings a low F. Other songs where Fred demonstrates his skills singing low are Bo Rhap (the low "no no no no no no no" and more parts), Lily Of The Valley ("follow every..."), Black Queen ("bears a will..."), All Dead (last chorus, again a low F), some backing vocals of the Barcelona album, a part of Your Kind Of Lover, many times in All God's People, the octave voice in Flick Of The Wrist and a large etc
Roger - He's so under-rated when it comes to low range imo. Most people think he could "only" sing the high falsettos, but it's not true. By one side, he could sing incredibly high notes without falsetto (e.g. More Of That Jazz, I'm In Love With My Car...), by other side he was very good in the low registre as well (listen to the intro of I Wanna Testify)
