Just thinking here, if Roger is gonna sing "Radio GaGa", "Days Of Our Lives", who plays the drums? I mean it's easier to sing (for excample "I'm In Love With My Car") and play drums at the same time. And Roger is used to do it. "GaGa" is another story, I've never seen him singing it behind the drums. In 46664 there was extra drummer (don't remember his name, sorry!).
5 has always been enough for rockband, but in 46664 there was also extra guitarist, Jamie Moses.
Any information about him, will the join with the group?
Line-up is at the moment:
Drums - Roger Taylor
Guitars - Brian May
Vocals - Paul Rodgers
Keyboards- Spike Edney
Bass - ?
I think brian said on his site that it's gonna be just the four (or five) of them, going back to the roots of Queen. So I reckon they'll have a bass player and Spike Edney, but no more. I really hope that's how they'll do it, 'cause although it's ok with the backing singers in the tribute/charity/award show style gigs, on a proper tour, it should be just them.
So i guess if Roger sings anything it'll be from the drum kit, but I think they'll leave most of the vocals to Paul. That's what he's there for, after all. If B+R were gonna sing, they'd have done the tour on their own
Geeze loise! I don't really mind neccessarily that they don't have back up singers but I definitely think that they could use them in the long run! In my view Queen have always been important with the vocals and now is there chance to really expand on doing this live. I think they could use it starting over again and all you know? Also how do you all know who the keyboard player will be?
Alex,
Spike was the fifth member, the unsung hero, the man in background or whatever you'd like to call him. He has been heavily involved in We Will Rock You at the Dominion and also with the Brian May Band and S.A.S. Band.
There is only one choice for keyboards. I bet he plays Ga Ga with his eyes shut by now.
Alex, i don't think they have time (and will) to study "studio versions" for the live songs...they will make a big show without caring too much on the original tricky parts.Their live impact has always been stunning (a part some little details recently, i refer to some mistake live from the band.....i.e. amsterdam 2001gig)
I think there will be-
Additional Drummer: Keith Prior (sp?) he was the back up on ROger's electric fire tour, I believe he was at the 46664 gig, LA Walk of Fame gig, + some other one off gigs. He's a nice guy and great drummer.
Additional Guitar? Maybe. Again reference the many of the one off gigs Bri and Rog have done as Queen over the pass several years. If Brian sing lead on a song he needs a little help on guitar-which is ok. Candidates? Anyone but Jaimie Moses. He's always blocks my view of Brian!!
Spike- a given.
Bass? Wide open! It would be nice to see neil murray
