What is your favorite song written by John Deacon?
| Las Palabras De Amor 24.01.2005 16:06 |
he didn't write many but I really seemed to like most of his songs. My favorite of his would have to be "Spread Your Wings". |
| billyk72 24.01.2005 16:16 |
I'd say the same thing: Spread Your Wings with You're My Best Friend a close second. Worst John song? - maybe "Back Chat" or "Who Needs You" |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 24.01.2005 16:21 |
Spread Your Wings, You're My Best Friend, I Want To Break Free and You And I. Another One Bites The Dust is good, too. |
| GivenToFly 24.01.2005 16:30 |

DeaconJohn wrote: Mine is 'Man in the Shadows', from the album of the same name...Fist Through A Window is better. It would've been a smash hit if he released it as a single; too bad he took the Led Zeppelin route and decided not to release any singles from the album. |
| Melancholy Blues 24.01.2005 21:16 |

Spread Your Wings in my opinion... Although I LOVE almost all his songs. But this one is just close to me... |
| foxxy_moron 25.01.2005 02:35 |
Yes, that IS a beautiful song. I think One Year Of Love was lyrically excellent, but the song could have been so much more!! |
| Victoria 25.01.2005 02:54 |
Back Chat - I just love this song, but I'll likely be on some other song next week Spread Your Wings - Good melody + good message = nice song Misfire - Not a revelation of any sort, but it's a fun little one Who Needs You - Charming, makes me smile, cause it's cute You're My Best Friend - Lovely Another One Bites the Dust - The aforementioned revelation All in all, it's a tough decision between You're My Best Friend and Another One Bites the Dust... Agh! Yeah, it's one of those. Depends on my mood. However, am still stuck on Back Chat right now (which is neither of my eithers)... |

I'd have to say 'Seven Days', You & I, & Who Needs You, great acustic guitar by John. Back Chat is a cool song. Least favorite is w/out a doubt I Want to Break Free. Never liked it from the day I bought the Works album way back in '84. Although I have gotten use to it, it's still my least favorite over all. |
| We Are The Champions 11.02.2005 07:08 |
John has written some great songs: Here's my 3: Spread Your Wings You And I You're My Best Friend |
| Daveboy35 11.02.2005 08:04 |
My favourite john deacon song is If you can't beat them a song full of hope and determination a typically deacon track but most of songs are great i really can't think of a bad song but if i was pushed to make one it would be who needs you. |

If You Can't Beat Them's lyrics are pretty bad actually. But I think it was definitely a highlight of the Jazz tour, and probably his heaviest song, so it still remains a favourite. |
| Flash Jazz 08.07.2012 06:39 |
You and I. On another note, pretty entertaining to read through the replies and see how many write the song names with capitalized "The", "And", "Of", and "To". |
| Kacio 08.07.2012 14:04 |
