Wow - someone who likes and admires "The Voice" a rarity on these boards.! Being disrespectful of Paul's contribution on this tour is woeful.
Too many people are falling into the trap of an out and out Queen show - it ain't gonna be that way!. I have a good collection of Rodgers material......... Jimi Hendix set live EP, The Law, 10 from 6 , Now, Muddy Waters Blues and The Firm's Radioactive on tape. Saw him on his European Tour 1997. Absolutely love "For A Little Ride" from The Law. My best mate is also a Rodgers fan.....has 15 of his albums. Has great taste..like us!! Suggest that many people who have never heard of Paul Rodgers do a rain check so you can enjoy more of the show! I wonder what sort of audience this tour will attract. Countless "firsttimers" who've never seen Queen before, more mature people with families and die hard fans with an insatiable appetite for both Rodgers and Queen.
We are two of a kind...we know what to "expect" from this tour. It's going to be a great night out with 3 legends on the same stage. Enjoy it! This is very rare treat for both sets of fans........and I can't wait!!!
I hadn't heard much from Paul Rodgers before this tour was announced, just the hits. I knew who he was, just hadn't bought the albums. Since the tour was announce I have bought 10 from 6 (Bad Company) and a Free compilation. Fire and Water is an amazing track and as for the Bad Co. stuff, all I am asking myself is why didn't I buy it sooner. So thanks to Brian and Roger for turning me onto a great vocal talent. I will admit he is no Freddie, and cannot replace him, but if the situation were reversed Freddie couldn't replace Paul in Bad Co. or Free. The Styles are different. Saying that I don't want a tribute act I want something new, and I think that this will be good.

Amen to that.
I love Paul Rodgers and I'm very suprised he's not more reveared in your country.
Rod Stewart called him the best British soul and blues singer ever. That's quite a compliment coming from Rod, who's no slouch himself.

You're the second American to agree with my comments..... MyHammerIsFalling being the other. Uncanny or what!
Yes, it was interesting to see that he's a songwriter (hadn't realised he'd written Radioactive for example) and a musician as well as a singer.
I take it he's British (from near Hartlepool!).
What age is he?
I also wonder if he'll bring a bluesy feel to some of the old Queen songs?

Paul is about 4 months younger than Roger.
He was born in Dec. 1949 I believe.
The guys in Free were practically kids when they released their first album. Their bassist Andy Fraiser was just 16 and coming off a stint with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers no less!
I have seen Paul perform with Bad Company and can confirm that he is a brilliant vocalist. We all know he's not Freddie. No one could be, he was unique. You shouldn't be viewing this as a Queen tour because it isn't. That would be impossible. It is however something very special in its own right. Paul Rodgers is one of only a handful of great rock vocalists who can really pull off a tour like this. Freddie, Paul, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger belong to a VERY select group of great rock vocalists. When you think of some of the crap Brian and Roger have worked with in recent years (5ive, Robbie Williams, the pepsi add etc) is it any surprise John has retired? I for one am very happy that they are performing with Paul. I can't think of anyone more suitable.
