hmm .. it seems that it wasn't a nice chat between Paul and Gail Ann :P well .. if Paul thinks that it wouldn't work between them, it's better that she isn't in. Jamie Moses than? :) |

Paul Rodgers has lost a lot of the credit I was prepared to give him. At least we still have Brian and Roger. |
Perry 23.01.2005 14:51 |
Has anyone actually heard anything more than rumours about John refusing to take part or who the bassist will be? I'm sure Brian mentioned somewhere there will be a few surprises as well. I definently haven't heard anything official about John's decision or a bass player, reckon he might be a little surprise for us all? |

Nothing official has been said? Read the official tour statement "Queen bassist John Deacon has currently retired from the stage." |
Brian_Mays_Wig 23.01.2005 15:27 |
currently. |
Benn 23.01.2005 16:21 |
Who wants a woman in a rock band anyhow? She probably offered herself on a plate to them because she can ONLY get a gig with Bowie anyhow..... Bassist WILL BE Pino Palladino - take THAT as official........ |

no women in a rock concert? wake up, this is 21st century, and Gail is a great bass player/vocalist. It's a shame she's not in the band |
RohemianBapsody 23.01.2005 17:28 |
B_M_W Have to disagree with you regarding Lisa Stansfield at Wembley. I think her entrance is one of the most memorable bits of the show. To come on stage wearing a headscarf and pushing a vacumm cleaner as per the video made my hair stand on end as it was such a great parody. |

Benn wrote: Who wants a woman in a rock band anyhow? She probably offered herself on a plate to them because she can ONLY get a gig with Bowie anyhow..... I asked in him in a PM and that was his reply to me. |
akan 24.01.2005 03:31 |
i think that the bassman will be the one who played the pavarotti and friends, i remember he played well. |
Mr. Scully 24.01.2005 05:28 |
If Neil Murray stops dancing and clapping hands on the stage (it looks VERY ridiculous!!!), I vote for him. |
Libor2 24.01.2005 05:59 |
I'm for Neil Murray too. |

Steve Barnnacle is still in with a shout I'm afraid |
Benn 24.01.2005 15:05 |
Pino is not contracted to The Who. |

FairyKing 24.01.2005 16:23 |
Well, first of all, Pino Palladino is a great choice, not a mere substitute and also Murray.. Technically they are better than John, but anyway any of them would give no 'handicap' to the skills of the entire band. I don't know Gail Ann, but I really don't see why a woman couldn't play on stage with our 'heroes'... And still I don't see why a girl couldn't join a rock band. I love Garbage and their vocalist, Shirley Manson. Yep, no comparison with Queen, but no bad also. And in a couple of songs a nice female voice could help with the backing vocals, as we know Brian tends to 'whisper' instead of singin' while playin' choruses. |
teddybear 24.01.2005 17:33 |
I loved Lisa in the FM tribute too, it was great to see at least a couple of women on stage - Annie Lennox was great too (one of my favourite female performers) - but I don't understand why so many don't like Gail-Ann - she is a great talent and could at least sing abit of "Under Pressure". And what is wrong with some girls on stage? You people who say you are not "sexist" - well sorry, I think you are !! It should be about the talent - not gender. If a chick can play it - then she should get the gig, if she meets the criteria of the band - the gender ought not matter. Anyway, some chicks have "more balls" than half the poncy men you see on stage these days !! |
FairyKing 24.01.2005 17:43 |
I definitely agree |
Jimi 24.01.2005 17:58 |
GAD performances of UP on Davids tours. Listen and learn... There is still time for you |
onevsion 24.01.2005 20:06 |
i hope john deacon will play.. i know it's silly but i really hope so.. Otherwise, jamie moses is great |
FairyKing 24.01.2005 20:09 |
he won't play, forget it. and by the way, all the other bass players rumoured to join in this tour have greater skill. so let's leave john alone! he doesn't want to play and we need spmeone who gets on fire on stage! |
Mr. Scully 25.01.2005 02:29 |
Neil Murray confirmed he won't be on tour. Palladino has other projects. So who's left? |
FairyKing 25.01.2005 02:34 |
Silvia, a friend of mine, told me she played with Bri & Roger already. But it was her wettest dream so I'm not sure who's gonna play... |
Hank H. 25.01.2005 03:55 |
Probably whoever usually plays with Paul Rodgers. |
FairyKing 25.01.2005 03:59 |
Yep maybe. So still Silvia has to dream... :-P |
Dicky Hart 25.01.2005 04:34 |
If Neil Murray is not available, it will be Steve Barnacle. It could be Steve Stroud. |
siljeoen 25.01.2005 04:46 |
Gail Ann is great!! I saw her live last summer. |
Brian_Mays_Wig 25.01.2005 10:04 |
Steve Barnacle. Ouch. |
We Are The Champions 25.01.2005 10:30 |
Never heard of Steve Barnacle until 2 minutes ago........he of Visage fame? Nononononononono!!! |
drinkovarious 25.01.2005 11:46 |
Bri and rog must contact the master Stuar Hamm...Thats a wonderful piece of art bass player. He will play for sure for some hundred thousand Euros! HAHAHAAHHHAAHAHAHHAH...anyways he could be and incredible choice! |
FairyKing 25.01.2005 11:48 |
Yes, 'hahahaha'. So very funny! Let's read some weird and useless suggestions like 'Flea' or 'John Paul Jones.... |
Benn 25.01.2005 12:11 |
Jaz Locherie would be a decent choice or (and here's an off-the-wall suggestion) even Chucho Merchan who played with Pete Townshed, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, The Pretenders etc...... |
Bizon 25.01.2005 12:54 |
glenn hughes maybe? and it would mean they'd have another singer with them who already did some queen tunes on tribute albums... gail ann is awesome.. i have some perf. of UP with david bowie.. she has a hell of a voice!! |
Daz85 25.01.2005 12:59 |
I'd personally like Neil Murray. |
FairyKing 25.01.2005 13:00 |
Benn, could you send that Under PRessure version with her to me?? thanx u in advance |
Benn 26.01.2005 04:41 |
Sorry, but no - it's available to buy in the shops as I understand it. |
Sicmot 26.01.2005 10:00 |
But we love and adore Gail Ann.. she can put a Freddie mask and skin-suit of Freddie on and a modulator in his mic to sound like Freddie!! she deserves to be on stage with PAul.. they must sing every queen song together.. and be gentle and tender to eachothers.. |
FairyKing 26.01.2005 10:26 |
Sic, you're not my father... "be tender and gentle?"...well, try not to give away so good advices.... |
Benn 26.01.2005 12:21 |
Sic, re: > she deserves to be on stage with PAul How EXACTLY does she "deserve" to be on stage with Paul? |
