I LOVE the Family Guy... Seth McFarland is a genius.. of course Fox broadcasting is starting to back away from what made it different from all the other stations, they already blurred out Peters Ass from an earlier episode... thank GOD for DVD.. Although I am stuck while choosing my favorite, I LOVE baby Stewie..But I find myself more drawn to Peter.. and his WIFE.. WOW.. Shes HOT.. No WONDER why Brian loves her so much...
I LOVE YOU LOIS.. MARRY ME.. I am on the REBOUND from a REBOUND..
Tom Tucker: Who knows how a fat guy got married to an attractive red head? Here's an artists conception.
*shows Fred and Wilma Flintstone*
I'm a Peter guy. Other family members think that Stewie is teh shit but Peter is the centre of the family damnit, and he demands respect! And the toolshed for he is hungry!
By the way Linda, we both know that the monkey never used to be evil.
Love it. Did you see the one where the teenager takes Stuey w/ her when she's job hunting and they think he's hers so they hire her? And then to get tips she tells everyone her baby's addicted to crack and she has no money! Hahaha we're all sick. Oh yeah, and then child services takes him away! And he gets into this multicultural family who drives him nuts, so he tells them that their cultures are all against eachother and makes them cry. And then the Dad comes to save him and Stuey says, "Yes, the lesser of two evils!"
Wow, it's a lot less funny when I explain it... oh well...
Maybe they thought that you Kiwi's were more suited to the new animated series called Ramily Guy.
I know. I'm-a gonna cop it.
I find Viewer Mail to be the funniest.
Doctor: Mayor West, you have Lymphoma.
Mayor: Oh my!
Doctor: Probably from rolling around in that Toxic waste. What in God's name were you trying to prove?
Mayor: I was trying to gain super powers.
Doctor: Well that's just silly.
Mayor: Silly yes ... Idiotic ... yes!
Peter Griffin has provided me with so many little quirks now it violates me. Eee!
Mr. Peuterschmidt That Brian of yours is violating Sea Breeze!
Peter: No he's not he's ju-NOW he's violating Sea Breeze.
Ah, Peter Griffin. I think they cancelled it originally because there was a chance that FG and Futurama could have killed The Simpsons which I wouldn't really care much for. EEEE!
And I think this is my favourite quote of all time from Family Guy. Speaking of which my family keeps calling it Family Man. So I killed them.
Peter: Have they ever shown him doing somebody in and then feeding on him?
Brian: You're asking if they've ever done a Sesame Street in which the Count kills somebody and then sucks their blood for sustenance.
Peter: Yeah.
Brian: No, they've never done that.
I think it's better than the Simpsons actually, but only just.
I love it, and my girlfriend has bought me all 3 series on dvd, thus prolonging our relationship inevitably, as I am eternally indebted to her!
Seth McFarlane the creator of 'Family Guy' is also coming up with a new show called 'American Dad'.
It looks very funny, so 'Family Guy' fans are up for a double treat in 2005.
In my opinion, Family Guy is infinitely better than any other show in its genre. The writing has more wit in any one episode than an entire season of The Simpsons, Futurama, or South Park. The show is also consistently good; there are no bad episodes, really. Try to say that about another show in the genre? The only show to even come close to parallelling the grandeur of Family Guy is the Clerks cartoon, but that was too short lived to evaluate.
<font color=#8A2BE2> Linda Of The Valley wrote: Woo hoo!!! Man, I love Family Guy.. It is WAAAY better than The Simpsons...though I found a tiny simalarity in an ep of family guy and an ep in simpsons..
Family Guy is good, but in no way better than the Simpsons, let's wait for Family Guy to be around for more than 10 years and we will compare then, The Simpsons have been around for more than 13 seasons
I have no idea why the cancelled it over here MOTDQ except that they don't actually give a rat's arse about what we like to watch, just about what the advertisers will pay for. That's why so much quality stuff gets buried in the middle of the day or the middle of the night. I bet that if Family Guy came back on it would be stuck at some strange time on C4, or worse on Prime, so that we wouldn't notice until we happened to glance at the TV listings and discover that it was the final.
The only reason anyone thinks the Simpsons is better than Family Guy is because half the jokes in Family Guy are way beyond their scope of understanding. In other words, they fly way above their heads.
For what both shows have done through all the seasons they've been aired, 'The Simpsons' is definitely BETTER than 'Family Guy'.
'The Simpsons' set a standard for prime-time animation humor, which before the show started was only limited for younger audiences under 13.
'The Simpsons' took an aim towards older audiences with a black humor that made a complete satire and mock of American society, and pushed things over the edge.
For the first 8, 9, or 10 seasons it seemed like 'The Simpsons' could do no wrong, but there's no doubt that show has started to go downhill since the late 90s.
Some blame it on producer Mike Scully for concentrating too much on bringing celebrity guests, and centering the show too much around Homer. That I have to say was one of the things that made the show get so damn boring.
What no one can deny is that 'The Simpsons' was to animation in the 90s, what The Beatles were to rock n' roll in the 60s.
Sure 'The Simpsons' is not as funny as it used to be and I'm gonna have to agree with those that say that ever since 'Family Guy' came out in 1999 it has been much funnier than 'The Simpsons'.
However it's thanks to the huge influence of 'The Simpsons' why we have shows like 'Family Guy' and 'South Park'.
