Whoever doubts of Roger and Brian's songwriting potential fading away, should listen to these two songs.
I haven't been able to listen a studio version of 'The Call', but the performance and the lead vocals by Brian at the 46664 show were awesome.
I just downloaded 'Invincible Hope' and it's absolutely spectacular. It has all the Queen anthem trademarks of a Queen song, but instead of the operatic overdubbed voices of Freddie, Brian, and Roger, there's back-up singers that give the song a great vibe.
I quite like them myself. I bought the 46664 EP on itunes the other day, And have been listening to "Invincible Hope" like crazy... That is AFTER I restored the missing lyrics. :P
The only backing singer I know of on the song is Treana Morris. As for the rest of the vocals, I'm pretty sure they're Roger overdubs. I could be wrong...

I'm pretty sure (by listening to them) that that is how it went, Although I think they are credited to 'Queen'. I know Brian posted the lyrics to "The Call" on his site as his own composition.
It has not faded.
First of all, Queen were four members and everyone contributed to each song. Now two people are missing. John, who had little but had input and Freddie who had a very important musical input. He was the most talented musician of all four.
Both still have great talent writing songs and if they care deeply, they would be able to write some classic songs again. It's harder now but not impossible.
Invincible Hope is a typical Roger song and Freddie might have made a hit out of it.
the two songs are not bad, and i agree their still capable of writing some good stuff. we shall see what comes out this year, if it's gonna happen this is the time.
