Just woundering if Freddie's Great Pretender and Living on My Own and Brian's Driven By You videos are going to be on the Greatest Hits III DVD? And Elton John's take on Show Must Go On and George Michael's take on Somebody To Love? If the VHS relase did, the DVD must do musn't it? |

Wrong, Greatest Video Hits 2 on DVD was already different from the Greatest Flix 2 VHS. They will not make the mistake again to release the trashy Greatest Flix 3 as a DVD (solo stuff on a Queen disc, come on!!!!). The greatest video hits 3 on DVD will only include the QUEEN videos from 1991 up to 1998 (probably No One But You). And I hope it doesn't include this shitty Rah Mix of Under Pressure. |
Scirocco1977 20.01.2005 12:57 |
Oh, they SO will do this mistake again... And I will SO buy it anyway! |
kleinhond 25.01.2005 11:00 |
the UP Rah mix was an official Queen hit single with Fred and Bowie, both seen in a video for the song so OF COURSE it will be on there. probably the lead track |

Under Pressure from 1981 was a hit single, but not the Rah Mix - so it doesn´t deserve a place on a greatest video hits dvd (the original hit song is already on GVH 2). Come on, its also not a new song, its just a shitty remix. |
Daburcor? 25.01.2005 11:19 |
I actually quite enjoy the Rah mix. I for one hope it IS on the DVD. |

Oh, come on Thomas Quinn... I didn't say that it will not be on Greatest Video Hits 3. I just HOPE that it will not be on it. Up to 1991 I can think of no bad compilation from Queen - they released 2 Greatest Hits with not repetitions of songs and the songs were all hits. With Greatest Hits 3 they have already stretched the bounds of credibility because there are only three or four new singles (and therefore chart successes) after 1991. And do you really think that a remix of Under Pressure was a good idea? The original song was perfect and Freddie or Bowie would never have remixed it! It was just released by Brian and Roger to get some attention chartwise (not for the money I´m sure!), and it didn't really do well. So whats the point of having it on GVH 3. It wasn't a hit, it wasn't a new song anyway. So Roger and Brian should make sure to return to quality releases like GH1 and GH2, not to a silly project like GH3! GH1: 9 albums -> 17 original songs GH2: 5 albums -> 17 original songs GH3: 1 album -> 5 original Queen songs (plus three old ones), at least they should not have released their solo stuff on a Queen album!! |
GiantSpider 25.01.2005 12:00 |
Well as I see it there will be stuff off Innuendo, Made In Heaven & Rocks. But that gives you what? 10? |
Daburcor? 25.01.2005 13:30 |
From the viewpoint of someone who didn't get a chance to hear any of their solo stuff before buying GH3 (Other than Brian's "Another World" and chunks of "Barcelona"), I think it was a good thing that they put a few solo songs on it. I mean, To this day I STILL don't actually OWN a copy of "Back To The Light", as it is out of print here. I may have NEVER gotten to hear "Driven By You". |

I seem to be of the few who both liked the remix and the video! |

I quite like the RAH Mix on Under Pressure. |
bitesthedust 25.01.2005 13:46 |
me as well. with regards the GVH3 dvd release.... I don't see how QP are going to be able to complete the product based on releases from 1990 onwards..... Disc 1 would be Innuendo singles videos, MIH singles Doro videos, No-One But You & Queen Rocks promo videos (Put Out The Fire, I'm In Love With My Car etc.)& Seven Seas Of Rhye BBC taping. Disc 2 chuck in some odds and sods, making of the Innuendo videos etc. |
kohuept 25.01.2005 13:51 |
I think the RahMix is great and the video - even better. All GVH3 needs are the core Innuendo+NOBY vids and I'll buy it. I'm not gonna start complaining if they put 'too much' on it, though. That's rediculous. For those who want to pay more for less, more power to ya! |
brian_may_wannabe 25.01.2005 14:08 |
I think the songs on the Greatest Hits III DVD (as I was originally trying to say at the start of this topic) shouls be DISC ONE Innuendo - Queen Theses Are The Days Of Our Lives - Queen Living On My Own - Freddie Mercury Headlong - Queen I'm Going Slightly Mad - Queen Under Pressure (RAH Mix) - Queen & David Bowie Driven By You - Brian May The Great Pretender - Freddie Mercury Somebody To Love - George Michael & Queen The Show Must Go On - Queen Bohemian Rhapsody (Wayne's World version) - Queen The Show Must Go On - Elton John & Queen No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young) - Queen Let Me Live - Queen Heaven For Everyone - Queen Too Much Love Will Kill You - Queen Barcelona - Freddie Mercury & Monserrat Caballe DISC TWO Too Much Love Will Kill You - Brian May's version Heaven For Everyone - The Cross' version Freddie's Loves documentary Freddie Mercury: The Untold Story documentary Queen Legends documentary The Story of Bohemian Rhapsody docmentary News Reports on Freddie's deaths That was what I what I was originally trying to say. Should it be something like that? |
Daveboy35 25.01.2005 14:11 |
as for filling up the dvd with stuff i distincly remember doro in the studios when they were recording the miracle so i won't be suprised if there was footage of miracle and innuendo sessions included at some point if not now then in the future. By the way the info on doro filming was in a 1988 christmas issue fan club mag and it clearly states doro in the studio recording the band(obviously successful after the making of one vision). |

The only proper release can be: 1)Innuendo (1991) 2)Headlong (1991) 3)I'm Going Slightly Mad (1991) 4)The Show Must Go On (1991) 5)These Are The Days Of Our Lives (1991 / Disney version or normal one) 6)Heaven For Everyone (1995 / David Mallett version) 7)A Winter's Tale (1995 / DORO version) 8)You Don't Fool Me (1995 / unfortanetly we only have this shitty experimental short) 9)Let Me Live (1995 / again: unfortanetly we only have this shitty experimental short) 10)Too Much Love Will Kill You (1995 Queen version / Doro music video) 11)No One But You (Only the Good Die Young) (1998 / DORO video) + 12)Somebody To Love with George Michael from the Freddie Tribute (because it was the fifth number one single from Queen, although not a new song back then) please no Rah Mix (no new song and not a hit) please no shitty Another One Bites the Dust remake (what has this to do with an official Queen record anyway because its a project from another artist without teaming up with Queen) and please: no solo stuff on a Queen video (it doesn't belong there, or is there any on GVH 1 or 2???). The Freddie Mercury Solo Collection is out there anyway. Doesn't really make sense to release it again. The only question that remains: What to do with "Show Must Go On" with Elton John. It was neither a single-release nor a chart-hit, but Elton sang it often during the 90s in concert. I would it put up there, although the original song is already up there on the GVH3. |

I doubt that'd fit on one DVD. |

brian_may - i agree with your list. that would be cool. and i would add In My Defence - for some reason i feel it would be right. |

It would not be a stretch at all to put both version of the video in the collection, especially with how easy it would be to call one an "extra". I think another question is - will they put the other version of S2L with George and the ORIGINAL guitar solo like on the VHS?? |
AlexRocks 25.01.2005 16:43 |
I would expect most if not all things from "Greatest Flix III" to be on "Greatest Video Hits III". Including the solo videos. |
