if during tehe innuendo sessions they left off 'Self-Made Man', 'My Secret Fantasy', and 'Robbery' (that most of u say are great songs)they(queen didn't put them on the made in heaven album?after all they were some of the last songs freddie recordered.
so why they used old songs(mlhbs, iwbtly, mih)instead of the newer ones?
sorry...this the real post

i think they chose those 2songs because they were some of the tracks they knocked back for a queen album back in early mid eighties written by freddie so he put them on his album(mr bad guy) i heard that story about the knockback in an interview by mr mercury himself! so maybe it was a bit of a tribute thing when queen put them on made in heaven album..... also there possibly aint enough in the way of freddie vocals for the demo innuendo tracks, whooooooo knows lol
lyrically they were unfinished? and in 1994 you couldnt get new vocal tracks from freddie..obviously.
whereas they had them for Heaven for everyone..and Too Much Love will kill you
thats my guess.
'My Secret Fantasy' and 'Robbery' don't contain any real lyrics, per se (at least the versions that have slipped out; who knows if other versions don't exist), and 'Self-Made Man' is only Brian half-mumbling the lyrics, which doesn't mean he couldn't have re-recorded them in 1994. However, I think they were looking more to have Freddie's voice on the album, and a primarily Brian-sung track wouldn't have really cut it.
Where did you hear about 'Born To Love You' and 'Made In Heaven' being knocked off?
in a freddie interview he states that brian, roger i dont know about john,, but they knocked those songs back when freddie wanted them on either the works or kind of magic he just said they didnt like them,, then he started laughing and said they'll go on my album etc, well something to those words, but it was true.
absolutely, lester!
those three songs are all full of la-la-las and dee-dee-dahs where Freddie had no lyrics
they sound great as ideas but as songs - they could never be - there's nothing there for Queen to work with now - because the moment has gone - and only freddie could capture the mood of what he wanted to sing....even the lyrics that exist (as little as they are - one verse or so) before getting to the finished stage would've evolved to something very different to what is there now
they may well have got "binned" completely if they were all still alive, after all, writer's block would've made em move on to other "better" ideas rather than getting stuck in a rut
