I heard that Deaky didn't see him for weeks before he died. He just couldn't. It was to shockin and sad for him.
I think Freddie's dead had more impact on John than the other two together!!
But that's just my opinion of what I have read and heard.

thats a pretty baseless opinion. Unless you personally know all those involved i don't think
you can come out and say that.

i heard that at well, i dunno but i have the feeling freddie's death affected john the most.
Yes I agree...
those two were always so close.
So cute
John and Freddie were the closet for many years...it became even moreso in the last few years of Freddie's life.
John had a great sense a humour, and Fred fed off of that tremendously. Roger too...Freddie and Roger's antics are legendary!
But John was very special to Freddie.... they were quite a team, both onstage and off (moreso off).
Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that John's dad died when he was a kid and it was kind of too much for him when Freddie died too. I think people should give Deaky some slack. Anyway, not to sound too nosy, but does anyone know what they said to each other (Brian, Freddie and Roger) the last time they met? If this is a load of crap just tell me and I'll shut up.
its not a load of crap in my opinion. i would really like to know these kinds of things.
i think its sad that johnnie's dad died when he was 11.. he said in an interview it was pretty rough growing up without a dad. he gave me the impression that him and daddy dearest were close.
still, i couldnt imagine what life would be like without a mom or dad or anything... but i do feel for those who have lost a parent or sibling.

Poor Johnny! :(... It's so sad to lose a parent when you're so young!
Just to let you guys know I agree totally with the John thing. I mean "Friends Will be Friends" is one of my favorite songs. It's so full of meaning and it's even more special that Fred and John wrote it together.
I also find that I agree with Foxxy 100% of the time on posts. Maybe we where seperated at birth or something.
You have to remember that John & Freddie were both outsiders in terms of being the last two to join the band - Brian & Roger had known each other much longer.
I'd be willing to wager that Freddie was more supportive of John in the early days for this reason alone and that means that John probably had a greater love and respect for Freddie and "Queen" than either Brian or Roger.
THIS is why John has been so against what the Queen name has been put to in recent years.

Yeah, I think that was the place where I read it.. something about his father.
I also read that Freddie had always been like a big brother to John. When I read that I relized what 'Friends Will Be Friends' was about. Now I think this is so cute and beautiful song. About their friendship :) :)

FWBF could just as well be pure throw-away...and some of those speculations are way OTT.
It doesn't matter what you read, but where you read it.
I hope you don't mind if I add my tuppence worth.
When John joined Queen he was 20 and Freddie was 25. That's quite a difference at that age. Together with Freddie's personality I think he must have had quite an impact on John.
Obviously I have nothing to back any of this up.
Cheers!

An interesting conclusion... what do you look like bassist??? lol.
I've read all these messages its good to see some people thinking its cute that Freddie and Johnnie were great mates. I'd be devestated two if my best friend died and we had known eachother for that long. Especially during the hard times. Dealing with death is a hard HARD thing to do and I have never met anyone who said it was easy.
