Well thought i might venture out and begin a 'serious" discussion thread about a topic that has been at the forefront on many a mind these past few weeks...Queen Productions. As a entity, it has been getting a lot of slings and arrows lately for not being there for the publics needs and wants. So here is my question to you all: What would YOU as a serious Queen Fan like to see come foreward from Queen Productions? Now let's try to see some good answers...and not just the obvious like "The Box Set" or "Freddie's unreleased tracks" and such. I'm talking about stuff you would love to own, see, or have a say in. I mean ideas you have for items you know the Fans as a whole have been clamouring YEARS for. I'm interested to see what everyone thinks.. For example, would you like to see "Live at The Bowl" released as a special collectors vinyl album? How about a certain live concert or performance? i personally think it's high time we saw the dvd release of all of the various solo videos made by the Band...that would be terrific! It could easily be done..or at least it seems it could be. What are you feelings about the current situation regarding releases...or lack of them? Again, i'm attempting to start a hot topic that will get people talking and possibly excited by sharing their thoughts on all things Queen. Another thing i would love to see out someday is Brian's long rumoured biography. I hope he gets around to it....i know it would be a fasinating read! How about you? What would you like to see from QP? Feel free to make up a list..i'll put mine up in a few days. Let's hear what everyone has to say! |
Gunpowder Gelatine 12.01.2005 22:45 |
I would love to see the box sets - or at least some definitive word on when they're coming out! But a biography by Brian would be great, and so would more live DVDs. And I can't wait for GVH 3 to be released, too. |
Deacons 1st Choice 12.01.2005 22:51 |
Interesting you should mention that Gunpower... I have wondered why the GVH3 is so anxiously being awaited. Tell me, why are so many Fans looking forward to it? Is it because the "No One But You" video will be on it or is it something else that i'm not thinking of at the moment? Yes, some news on the Box Set would be lovely...and i'm sure that is at the top of the "Want List" to QP. What else does everyone want to see?? |
Gunpowder Gelatine 12.01.2005 22:56 |
About the GVH DVDs, I love hearing Brian and Roger's comments on the videos. They just add an interesting dimension, and I love hearing Roger complaining! Then again, GVH 1 was better because their comments were recorded together and not completely separately like on GVH 2. And I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle GVH 3, like what videos are ultimately chosen and what kind of bonus material it has. |
akindofmagic 12.01.2005 23:06 |
NOt very original for my own, but i want the box sets, GVH3, Freddie's unrealesed tracks(re-worked) and , of course, a new album with brand new songs! |
djaef 12.01.2005 23:24 |
- The Box sets!! - Live at the Rainbow 74 on DVD. This concert deserves complete restoration and release. It's a pity that the chances of this release are probably next to none. - Hammersmith 79 on DVD - now this one maybe has better chances. Have they got good audio and footage of the entire concert? This era deserves a dvd release. - A multi-dvd live anthology set. I figure there are lots of concerts they have good footage of that will never see the light of day as a stand alone release (think of the mic problems at Earls court 77 for example). So why not do a job on them like Led Zeppelin did. - A definitive 'authorised' dvd documentary - NOT made by the Torpedo jokers, who make crap films. Just look at the recent Killer Queen doco. Now imagine a doco that used ALL of Queen's resources and private footage. It could be awesome and it's long overdue. Instead we have others beating them to the punch with crap like Becoming Queen etc. - ALL the albums on dvd-a. - Brian's biography would be interesting reading indeed, as would Roger's. - GH3 with decent extras and commentary. - Did I say the box sets?! |

zanotti 13.01.2005 03:53 |
A cd of number ones like the beatles, but it would have to be worldwide. Also a new double dvd of new Queen+Paul Rodgers gig on one disc and a new Queen story doco with new intervieiws from Brian, Rog and John. No more Doro docos though, too much old stuff, Champions of the world was all over the place didnt tell the story of Queen at all. |

CD/DVD release of: a News Of The World 1977 America show (if possible) Hyde Park 1976 Hammersmith 1975 - the beeb filmed this for "The Old Grey Whistle Test", so why hasn't QP brought this out yet? |

I would really love to see the albums reissued as double albums with all those good extra tracks. I recall brian saying that they had enough material to make each album a double. I would also a recording from their Concert in South Africa, if it exists. Or another live recording that no one has. |
~Blue_Acid~ 13.01.2005 16:47 |
I would like to see a Queen movie...like hollywood style but without hollywood's twists. I think that would be really cool. |
~Blue_Acid~ 13.01.2005 16:51 |
Bam Bam I have Earls Court 77, but its very bad quality. Sound fades in and out and so does the color. |

foxxy_moron 13.01.2005 18:24 |
I have watched Live At The Rainbow in 74' on the computer but I would really like it as a dvd because the visual quality is a bit... not good. lol |
Oszmercury 13.01.2005 18:49 |
Well, I'll like to see footage from the early years, rainbow of course, hammersmith in 1975 and 1979, some from the american tour from 1977, why not, some footage from argentina, there's a lot of stuff, I think that Brian has a lot of videos, live, in studio, private, well, it will be amazin imo. Hyde Park, some footage from japan in 1975, some says that it exist. I think that we have a lot of official realases from the 80's its time to have new stuff from the 70's, early or late. |

You know guys, why would you want QP to release something you can buy on dvd from Ebay in decent quality? The only thing they should really do is like release a box a la Led Zepp making sure it has WWRY, WATC, ABTD, CLTCL for the American fans. They could redo the sound in 5.1 or some shit like that. I gotta say though, I've had the Milton Keynes show on video for years in excellent picture form and the DVD is way cool. The bootleg has a little more interview footage from the beginning though. Plus on the boot you can hear Freddie sing da wrong note on FBG. Its good to own the boot of the original. You can hear where they be tryin' to trick you. DISC 1: Japan79 Hammesmith79 DISC 2: Earls Court 77 DISC 3*: Hyde Park 76 DISC 4:* Hammersmith75 *bonus footage on the discs will be Munich 78, Brussels79, Madrid79, Munich79, the Champions doc., Paris79 Pretty fuckin' brilliant huh? Say any of you ladies out there in Qzone a FBG? |

well, you can buy or download some videos, a few days ago I buy a dvd with performance from madrid and japan in 1979 and cost me 3 dollars, here in mexico, so, if QP doesn't realase new material, we have bootlegs :=) |

I'm really not dying for the Greatest Hits 3 dvd. I want to see more live concerts of the 70's. I think a double "Hammersmith dvd" is very cool with the concerts of 1975 and 1979. They could also do an interview with Brian and Roger about these concerts as a bonus on this dvd. Other live performances on dvd : - Rainbow 1974 - Live at Hyde Park 1976 - live in Houston 1977 If these concerts are not complete, they can also make an dvd with parts of these concerts. I don't want a concert from the 80's as the next dvd because we already have Milton Keynes and Wembley. So please !!! A concert from the seventies :D !!! |
bigc 14.01.2005 17:35 |
the box set.sorry. but id love to hear studio quality versions of the Innuendo demos. |

Huge thanks to all who have responded so far... I see a trend here...apparently the main interest seems to be in them releasing more older concerts from the 70's Can't say i don't dissagree! i would personaly love to see these too...exspecially Hyde Park which i have NEVER seen except for the clips in the video for "Somebody to Love". Queen to me was all about the pre-77' eras. Any more ideas as to what you would like to see or hear? |

Adam Unger (QueenVault.com) 15.01.2005 19:03 |
1. I would like to see a second 3" CD single box set of singles from 1989-current. It would be nice to have the miracle, innuendo, and MIH singles in 3" format (just to complete the singles collection). 2. Integrate the Fanclub with Queenonline.com. I know EMI may not go for this, but some exclusive online releases would be nice. Maybe rare single versions, song versions, BBC, etc. It seems Pearl Jam has the right idea with their fan club and exclusive releases, so why not Queen? 3. Soundboard quality online downloads of concerts. You could include the new 2005 tour as well. Maybe charge $10 a concert? It's much better than the stupid 100 Top Bootleg thing they have going now. |
Deacons 1st Choice 15.01.2005 22:54 |
Excellent ideas Adam.... Thank you! Yes, the Band should really utilize the internet better as far as their website(s) go. I am always hearing about how utterly wonderful Bowienet is and the Pearl Jam site aften comes up as above. Obviously these sites are doing something right as far as appeasing the fan community goes. Why can't Queen seem to get this area together too? Who else has some suggestions (about anything in general)? |
Adam Unger (QueenVault.com) 15.01.2005 23:08 |
It's not like Queen couldn't do it with their websites. Throw out the occasional instrumental version or BBC session to download. What is EMI going to do? Not support it? Queen's catalogue is worth millions to them. They'll obviously get their cut of a $1.00 download. The Fan Club is not in the best of shape (obviously). Just because they don't really have anything to offer anymore. I used to be a member, and Jacky is a wonderful person. It just seems with Brian updating his site everyday and with Queenonline doing it's thing, the fanclub is obsolete. Just my opinion. :) |

To tell the truth, I have their bootleg videos or DVDs except Houston, though a few ones of Houston can be seen in rare live video. Well...the quality of some of them are not good ( especially Hyde Park) and some of them are edited or lack a few songs... Anyway, I do hope to see them in better quality... I'm afraid Hammersmith'75 will not be released as a whole, because Freddie and Brian had flu at that time and later Brian said he was not satisfied with its performance... |

Please don't yell at me for the following request. I would like to have some Queen earrings. Drop earrings with the picture of the four from BoRap. I see on eBay there is someone who sells Italian charms and has four different ones of Queen. I believe they are made of stainless steel. I wonder if a jeweler could attach/solder a hoop at the top, and then a regular earring wire could be put through the hoop. I'd wear them! |
