What other Qzers have children? Never seen this discussed openly, just hinted at a now and again. I know several do, but there are many QZers that are of (or past) child rearing age. Got two myself. |

We'd been trying for a child for quite sometime, when we realised it just was'nt happening for us. So we went for all the tests and found out that it was'nt to be, naturally anyway. We were referred to our local hospital, who have been absolutely brilliant. We've just finished a course of I.U.I. treatment, but the success rate with this is very low, and as we pretty much expected, nothing happened. We're now waiting to start I.V.F treatment in the next few months. So we are keeping everything crossed that maybe sometime this year, we'll get the news we've been waiting for. |

Kids are not as fun to raise as it is to make them. That's why I much rather have only pets. However, I think that I might change my mind around the time I turn 35. Only time will tell. |

Yes, as I'm sure many others here can attest, raising healthy children is a lot of work. I think it's best to get a good foundation first, before you start. I can't imagine doing this at, say, 20. |
Farlander 12.01.2005 12:06 |
I have no children and never will, as I have no intention of marrying, but I do love children and interact with them a lot. I used to work at a children's summer day camp and I currently teach a children's religion class. I also used to give violin lessons to kids. |
Mr.Jingles 12.01.2005 12:27 |
Sometimes I think it's better to adopt a kid since there are so many of them in need of a family, since in most case their biological parents are not able to provide them with enough economic needs, and affectionate care. Many people might feel like you couldn't love an adopted kid like one that is biologically yours, but I think that after spending quite some time raising them you will start to think different, and considered that adopted kid one that is truly yours. |

I dare say there's a string of Flashy Juniors all across the Northern Hemisphere. You'll pick 'em out in a skirmish, no trouble: Full of bluster, roaring at the top of their voices, swinging their sabres around their heads and getting as far away from the trouble as possible. |

Well, most people that know me know that my life long dream is to live on a beautiful giant piece of property and a house full of dogs. And I would have a few horses (probably two). Cyldesdales (sp) are my abosolute favorite. And while you guys have names picked out for your future kids, I got some names picked out for my future dogs. And if you can't tell, I stole some of these names. -Benji (Beagle)-Hopefully this dog will come sooner than I think. -Doby (German Shepard) Besides the fact that they are my favorite breed, I would love a watchdog to make me feel safe and secure when I'm living alone. -Mufasa or Simba..{still debating}(long-haired Golden Retriever) -Cujo [Saint Bernard] (I would especially love spending time with it out in the snow during the winter) -MAYBE a feathered-ear white Saluki..and I'll name it Angel and I am still unsure of some names with these..but these are other possible breeds I want: -Italian Greyhound -Blood Hound -Basenji -Siberian Husky -An Ibizan Hound or Pharaoh Hound (I think it's so cool that they date back to the ancient Egyptians) -A Czechoslovakian Wolfdog (you gotta seem them, they look almost identical to wolves) and the list goes on.. After I go through a list of neat dogs I need to look more into their personality, temperment, and other inner traits, cos I know looks aren't everything. And I want to have several dogs at a time so they all need to get along. Besides the Clydesdale I would want a Paint horse. Anyhow, I'm sure I'm not going to be able to handle all of these so I got a lot of limiting to do. :-p To keep it on the subject, these will be my "kids" when I'm older. ;-) |

I have a cousin who is adopted; my aunt and uncle brought her over from Russia about a year and a half ago, when she was 9 months old. She totally fits right in with the family! She has an older brother who is my biological cousin, and they act just like regular brothers and sisters. (well, a little nicer, actually.) It's really easy to forget that she's adopted, and judging by the behaviours of the family (not their looks), you'd never guess she's not a biological child. Personally, I would like to have at least one biological child, but I will definitely consider adopting when I grow up. |
