Let us cling together as the years go by
oh,mylove,my love
in the quiet night
let us light the candles
my dear,let's hold together.
...though they changed the verses to fit the melody.i think so.
It means(something close because I don't speak jap):
Holding hands in hands my love,
the silence shines all the good things you tought me.
May be somebody that speaks jap corrects me if I;m wrong.
Let us cling together as the years go by
Oh my love my love
In the quiet of the night
Let our candle always burn
Let us never lose the lessons we have learned
Teo torriatte konomama iko
Aisuruhito yo
Shizukana yoi ni
Hikario tomoshi
Itoshiki oshieo idaki
have they translated it for us already or maybe it means something else...
te o toriatte>let us hold together
kono mama iko>as the years go by
aisuru hito yo>my love
shizukana yoru ni>in the quiet night
hikari o tomoshi>the lights should remain
itoshiiki oshie o idaki>let us spread the good lessons we've learned.
...is the translation.i think so.
Didn't yo read my post above?what you wrote there has nothing to do with the jap part.

That's actually quite good. I enjoyed reading that.
Foxxymoron, since you are from Australia I guess you speak English, right?what LivingOnMyOwn wrote is NOT the translation of the song, the jap chorus is NOT the jap version of the first verse in English of the song!!!!!.
oh ok well ill ask my japanese teacher when i go back to school. ive been trying to learn the words to it so i can tell her instead of having to write it down

itoshiiki oshieyo idaki can also be translated as what the English verse says, let us never lose the lessons we have learned
