I'm completely the opposite; I've always thought that A Day At The Races had no filler! For me, The Miracle has got the most and worst filler material. But it doesn't have that much competition, since I think almost every album is solid.
Yep, I also think III was needless.
But then again... I like UPs Rah Mix a lot. And the booklet is neat... :-)
So in that case not needless. But fillers, yes.
Okay, with Day at the Races, I just meant that if you take off the hits like "tie your mother down", "good old fashion lover boy", & "Someone to love" the rest seems pretty more bland than other albums. Look at News of the World, take WWRY and WATC and its still a great album. The filler is just stronger. Look at Queen II, take of "seven seas of rhye", how great are the rest of the songs. GHIII doesn't count, I'm talkin' studio albums, of course GHIII isn't as good, its a compilation filled with guest singers, bad remixes, and a christmas song!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
please tell me you're kidding?
what the fuck? millionaire waltz, you take my breath away - two of fm's finest songs... you and i - top notch deacon track....long away great Brian rock ballad....and finally - Roger's jazz-rock that is Drowse...the only potential filler is Whiteman (which sounds like a leftover from Prophet Song....nah sorry
ADATR - by a long way had NO FILLER - now if you want filler....there's the works (piss poor) Hot space (all filler) (made in heaven is the classic posthumous filler album)
You know, when ADATR is on, i'm tellin' you.. it just lacks something. Not enough rock on it, mostly piano songs. And you're right, white man is pretty much prophet song in a nutshell. Overall as a complete album, it's a solid outing, but has gotta be the worst of their 70's albums. Not to bash anyone's opinion at all, It just hasn't stood the test of time for me.
OK as far as studio albums, I'm not saying this really has fillers, but News Of The World definately needed more time to be worked on. They're all great songs but the album seems to lack an ingrediant. And there was no help when the 1991 remix of WWRY came with it *that one makes me sick to my stomach*

News of the world is my favourite album... but it could have had a bit more i agree. but i really loved all the songs on it. just a few more would have been nice...
greatest hits 3.. i grew to like a majority of the songs. ive always loved las palabras de amor though. thats just a really nice song.
i was kind of dissapointed with A kind of magic... just needed a bit more even though most of the songs were great.
Never, never, never!!!
A Day at the Races is one of their most solid albums!!!!! And the hole atmosphere is fantastic.
The most insipid tracks are in The Works and The Miracle. Both albums are similar. Some good singles, and the rest is perfectly superfluous.

I've always liked a day at the races and the miracle they're my favorite albums. Any way in my opinion the ones with the worst filter material are...
News Of The World (Can't stand that album and to me it's all pretty similar)
Hot Space (Just don't like it too much, Probably my least favorite)
Greatest Hits III.
