Tell me which was your Favourite album and why. For me, Queen II is phenominal. Althought raw in places (which I like), Queen managed to produce something so new and different, that I think it was the most ambitious album they ever made. The drumming was fantastic the lyrics were incredible and the Guitar playing was awesome. Your turn.......... |
*Lisa* 04.01.2005 12:15 |
I think my 2 favourites are Innuendo and Made In Heaven. I just can't decide which one is better between them! They are both just amazing! |
Sebastian 04.01.2005 13:07 |
It changes from time to time, with any band. But in general terms I think, in Queen, I'd stick to the first one I bought, which I remember I spent all the bloody night playing over and over because I liked it a lot. Btw this year it's its 30th birthday |
don't_stop_me_now 9697 04.01.2005 13:16 |
My favorite is The Game, it was my first real album and I just love the sound, though some people hate the synths on it. |

My newest album is always my favortie.... But I think Sheer Heart Attack will always be a sort of favorite for me... At the moment my favorite is News of the world because it's my newest album.. And ANATO will always be their best I think....or maby just the most famous... |
Daveboy35 04.01.2005 14:14 |
My fave album is sheer heart attack followed very closely in a tied 2nd place queen2/anato but i think if you play a certain album that you like you think that this album is really good as well. For instance i played the game this morning(no pun intended) and then i played queen2 and thought wow what a difference, the game has good hits cltcl, aobtd saveme etc but the feel of the album is broken in places where as queen2 especially side2 or for really die hard fans the black side as it was known when released it has a more complete and cohesive feel to it. Just my opinion but they are all fabulous in thier own way. |
brENsKi 04.01.2005 14:57 |
usually queen II, but sometimes (not very often) replaced by Queen I |
Anto1 04.01.2005 16:02 |
I honestly couldn't chose one from the 2nd to 5th albums. Why? I think they made the best music during that period. After those belive it or not, I like Flash!!! |
Megamike The GREAT 04.01.2005 16:48 |
Oh Crap.. this again? Well.. I guess The Game, because it was the one that got me started in my love affair with Queen. but there are a LOT of GREAT albums, except for the POS called THE FLASH GORDON SOUNDTRACK, that one just does not sit with me. |
deleted user 04.01.2005 16:58 |
Hot Space. No kidding. |

I don't have one favorite so i'll try to list my top 5. Right here it goes... 1)The Miracle 2)Innuendo 3)A Day At The Races 4)Queen II 5)Made In Heaven There you have it. There are more but i'm not gonna make the list any longet than it already is. |
lottie88 04.01.2005 17:31 |
I am always torn between A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races. I love them both so much because I realllllly like every song on there. |
Awesome-O _4000 04.01.2005 17:47 |
Right now I love News Of the World, it's much more serious than the other albums, which I like. |
Melancholy Blues 04.01.2005 17:51 |
i love a day at the races and made in heaven, they are both full of amazing songs and i like them because both these albums are really emotional and that is the kind of music i love. |
Las Palabras De Amor 04.01.2005 19:18 |
A Night At The Opera. |
Leech 05.01.2005 04:48 |
Today, my choice is: 1) A Day at the Races 2) Innuendo But I will never forget the days when I discovered Queen II. I've never felt that way again. |
deleted user 05.01.2005 06:45 |
A Day at the Races...... especially Somebody To Love, You Take My Breath Away, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Teo Torriate pure genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Rotwang 05.01.2005 07:52 |
It's a 3 way tie between Queen II, A Night At The Opera, and The Game. Queen II has phenomenal music, lyrics, and vocals. ANATO is just a masterpiece, and The Game was, arguably, a "new beginning" for their sound. |
deleted user 05.01.2005 07:59 |
Hmmmm I couldn't choose. But The Game would have to be one of my favourites. Just because. |
Peta 05.01.2005 08:33 |
My the most favourite albums are 1. A Kind of Magic 2. Innuendo 3. The Miracle I do not like albums Queen, The Game |
pedro22 05.01.2005 09:47 |
i think queen 2, ANATO and innuendo are beyond the rest. The most boring queen albums to me would be: a kind of magic: find it damn boring sometimes the works: this one is just a bit better than the above. hot space: would be a dissapointment if under perssure and las palabras weren´t included. flash gordon: well, not really an album. |
slightly mad 22 05.01.2005 09:50 |
it would have to be greatest hits, followed by greatest hits 2 :P it never said studio album |
brian_may_wannabe 05.01.2005 10:19 |
Innuendo Made In Heaven A Kind of Magic |
Giacco 73 05.01.2005 10:43 |
My favourite album is A night at the Opera.Like "Sgt.Pepper's lonely hearts club band" for The Beatles or "Dark side of the Moon" for Pink Floyd.Perfect songs and perfect setlist, like a classical suite, everything is in the right place.Incerdible performance by the band and Freddie simlpy stratosferic. Is the perfect synthesis:Best band with best album with best song ever,Bohemian Rhapsody...I couldn't ask more from an album! And of course the best ballad ever,Love of my life... |
Lord Blackadder 05.01.2005 10:50 |
At the moment it is News Of The World. I just think it is brilliant. There is not 1 song I don't like on there. And Brian really proved how good a songwriter he is on that album. All Dead All Dead, Sleeping On The Sidewalk, WWRY and especially It's Late sre just great, great songs. Also Spread Your WIngs is just an amazing song. One of the best ever and definatly John's best. The album is just superb. But ask me again in 2 weeks and it might be The Game or something else, but for now it's NOTW. |
Hildur Helga:) 05.01.2005 10:54 |
i think Queen a nigth at the opera..and why? Because all the songs are great. And Queen+ i loove it ! =) -Hildur... |
JDL2nd 05.01.2005 13:12 |
I don't have one favorite so i'll try to list my top 5 : 1) A Day At The Races 2) Jazz 3) Sheer Heart Attack 4) News Of The World 5) A Night At The Opera I think Queen II is too long-winded in some songs. I don't like the synths in The Game. Hot Space and The Works are just crap. |
boy of destiny 05.01.2005 13:15 |
Favourite album by any artist... "News Of The World." The songs, the flow, the raw power, this album has it all. Queen was at the height of their career and every song on this album is great. A true classic. Second favourite Queen album would have to be "A Day At The Races." After that, they change from year to year. |

Innuendo. No any obvious reasons why - I just love it. |
rogerfan 05.01.2005 20:48 |
I guess mine is News of the World, as I have a copy signed by all 4 members of Queen, and it was also the first album I ever bought. |
chiflaco 05.01.2005 22:51 |
Mine has to be Innuendo, since it was my introduction to Queen. I was 8 when I first heard that album, and it still has the same effect on me as it did then. I even own an original copy of the score for that album. |
opera39 06.01.2005 01:26 |
I became a Queen fan during the The Game era, so that album means quite a lot to me. But when I bought A Night at the Opera in september 1982, it completely changed my way of listening to music. It's in my opinion the best album ever made, and the one that has meant most in my life. Other favorites: Queen II, Sheer, Races, News, Jazz, Works, Magic, Innuendo. |
LivingGirl 06.01.2005 07:16 |
...well,all are my favorites... __________________ rock you! |
Lady Cool Cat 06.01.2005 07:25 |
I love all of them, but if I had to choose, they would be: 1: Jazz; I love lyrics of all the songs, and they looked espacially cute at the time! 2:The Game;I love that sound of rockabilly in some songs. And there are many hits there, too. I also love the lyrics of the songs! 3: Hot Space; Some people may not like it, but it's different, and because of that, very special. |
Gondorian Queen Fan 06.01.2005 07:59 |
a night and the opera and news of the world.Dunno why i like them.sometimes people like things without a reason. |
lozitopj 06.01.2005 10:59 |
My favorite album by Queen is Innuendo. The reason is because with all the adversity that the band was facing in the late 80's and early 90's (mainly Freddie's health), they provided an album that was incredible. I feel that they really showed the world that they could still provide us with music that would be universal forever!!!!!!! |
Joost 06.01.2005 13:14 |
sheer heart attack, because it was my first Queen-album. i think it has some great songs on it. the worst song on it is she makes me. but even that song isn't too bad. some other albums i like are: - news of the world - innuendo - the game - jazz well ehh wtf.. i like them all:) |
bitesthedust 06.01.2005 15:58 |
1) Sheer Heart Attack 2) Innuendo 3) The Game 4) News Of The World 5) Made In Heaven |

I like the album Sheer Heartattack,or Jazz. |
Matti 06.01.2005 18:04 |

Pauld, if you wanted to know our favorite album then why don't you look in peoples' profile. But mine is News of the World simply because i like the songs. |
newcastle 86! 16483 06.01.2005 18:58 |
must admit its a good talking point |
man on the prowl 06.01.2005 19:08 |
right you lot!! here is the best 3 EVER!!!! 1)sheer heart attack 2)jazz 3)a night at the opera i think so anyway, hope you agree |
Jimmy Dean 07.01.2005 01:56 |
News Of The World If not for its two anthems then simply for Spread Your Wings, It's Late & My Melancholy Blues. Also, most creative album sleeve, and lyric sleeve (it was red)... never understood why the big space between verses of All Dead, All Dead (in the Elektra version at least). No more operetic sections. First Queen album I ever heard... should be next and most probable should there be another... DVD-A release. |
great king rat 1138 07.01.2005 04:41 |
I think I'm going to have to do a top four, as it changes all the time between them, but at the moment: 1)Queen - Quite simply the greatest debut album of all time, and the opening riff of 'Keep yourself alive' got me well and truly hooked from the start 2)Queen II - Wonderfully theatrical and overblown, with some of Brian's greatest layered guitar work (I almost convinced my wife to come down the aisle to procession, but had to compromise, so we went out of the church to the wedding march from Flash Gordon!) 3)Sheer Heart Attack - An all-round great album, with one of my personal favourites, the very down-and-dirty 'Flick of the Wrist' 4)Hot Space - I know that this is hated by alot of people, and I used to be one of them, until a friend of mine started putting it on whenever he was pissed (we were in second year of uni, so that was quite often) and I really started to like it, especially 2minutes 47seconds into Staying Power, when Freddie does a lovely extended "Huuuh" Classic! I think it's just a nice feel-good album and that's why I like it! So there you go. Of course the list moves around a bit every year, especially on 24th November, when I get together with a couple of friends and listen to the whole back catalogue, complete with drunken discussions on which is the worst song (general concencus this year - If you can't beat 'em Join 'em) |
kohuept 07.01.2005 09:58 |
Hot Space It's not the most complex, of course, but it's just the easiest to listen to. It isn't too involving and it gets me in a good mood. If you put on Queen II, though, I'm glued. |
sl1ppy 12.01.2005 19:10 |
Jazz Because for me it has the highest proportion of quality songs for any Queen album..... Dont Stop Me Let Me Entertain You Bicycle Race Fat Bottomed Girls Dead on Time More of that Jazz |
My Melancholy Blues 13.01.2005 02:28 |
Well...ANATO is my favorite all the time...and I also love Queen II. It's rather difficult to say why, but I love their decorativeness and outrageousness and I'm always impressed by striking tension through each of two albums. Both Jazz and Queen are my "second" favorites. |
queen-for-a-day 11.01.2014 23:49 |
At the moment it's Sheer Heart Attack. Just...the guitar sounds, the amazing and clever lyrics, the atmosphere of it all is just too awesome too handle. Plus, it has one of my fave Queen songs of all time: Killer Queen. But I just have to add ANATO, Queen II, NOTW and Innuendo. Those are my top 5 Queen albums. For now, it's SHA, but...who knows when it'll change? ;) |
Ozz 12.01.2014 23:02 |
Sheer Heart Attack is beautifully rounded and perfect to listening in one go. I usually stick to Innuendo, ANATO and QII, but I will chose SHA this time. |
ITSM 13.01.2014 01:52 |
A tie between A Day at the Races and Queen II. A Day at the Races has a wonderful theme about love throughout, and Queen II is so fairytale-like. |
k-m 13.01.2014 16:44 |
sl1ppy wrote: Jazz Because for me it has the highest proportion of quality songs for any Queen album..... Dont Stop Me Let Me Entertain You Bicycle Race Fat Bottomed Girls Dead on Time More of that JazzOh, come on. Freddie's songs on that album are simply overindulgent. A step too far in camp, imo. DSMN gained lots of popularity over the years, but we need to remember the Jazz album did not produce any really big singles at the time. I can still listen to FBG or Jealousy, but the rest of it simply doesn't do it for me. |
malicedoom 16.01.2014 12:11 |
The Miracle (I Want It All, Scandal, Breakthru... amazing - and so many others are great as well) News of the World (We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, All Dead, All Dead, Spread Your Wings, It's Late, My Melancholy Blues... wow) Innuendo (Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, I Can't Live with You, All God's People, These Are the Days of Our Lives, Bijou, The Show Must Go On... simply unfair) |
Denveridicule 18.01.2014 08:39 |
Queen, best album so far. There are a few which I don't own yet, but this album is simply great! |
PrimeJiveUSA 18.01.2014 19:24 |
That would be a 4-way tie between: Queen II Sheer Heart Attack A Day At The Races News Of The World |
tonyyy 21.01.2014 09:44 |
So many... I would say "The game", because it's an example of a perfect pop album (in the good sense of "pop"), and Freddie voice was on top! Tony link |
Vocal harmony 21.01.2014 10:27 |
In no special order. Queen 2 Sheer Heart Attack A Day At The Races Can't pick one that stands out, and News of The World Innuendo Are not far behind |
k-m 21.01.2014 13:01 |
Not easy, but I think their golden era spanned albums from Queen II, through SHA, ANATO and ADATR to NOTW. The Game was a fine reinvention, The Miracle probably one of their best balanced pop productions and Innuendo quite simply a beautiful and often brilliant swan song. If I was to choose just one, I would go for ANATO, as it was their coronation, with all four's songwriting abilities showcased. |
mike hunt 22.01.2014 01:42 |
I can't really decide which one I like better, but Queen2/A Night At The Opera are my favorites, Then SHA, Queen 1, ADATR are tied for Second With NOTW getting a honorable mention. The next level are Innuendo, (some of my fav songs) The Game (almost the perfect pop/rock record) and I like Jazz a lot, even with all it's flaws it's great. I should say that News Of The World Has aged really well...Sounds so fresh and hasn't dated at all after all these years. |
philip storey 22.01.2014 08:37 |
I would pick News Of The World as i can remember getting a record player for Christmas and a copy of NOTW ! |
dowens 22.01.2014 18:24 |
News of the World. It was the first Queen album I bought. I couldn't believe my ears, the different sounds on the album...such wide variety in styles! "Fight From the Inside" has a rockin riff!!! |
PrimeJiveUSA 01.02.2014 12:54 |
Wow...I LOVE seeing the appreciation for News Of The World in this thread. It was my first Queen album, as well, and turned me into an insanely rabid fan. So many fans see this album as the "beginning of the decline" and I just don't get it. I've always felt more connected and moved by this album than ANATO(which I love, too, of course). |
