Hmm. Not too sure about the guitar work... I know it takes a lot of guts to present a cover. For that, I say good job. But having listened to it, I'm not too wild about it. I've heard better.
Well, not horrible, but definately not excellent. The main problem is that there's an attitude to this song, a groove, and this recording doesn't have it. It's too straight.
You didn't do it like them, you did it like you and that's the idea imho. Whoever wants to hear a version exactly like the Queen one can easily put the Game, track #5 (if I remember correctly) and enjoy.
Nice version, the guitarist style is very similar to a friend of mine. Maybe that's him, since I never knew what happened to that bloke :) The world is a serviette

I don't like it that much, they just don't have the atitude mentioned before in it, and it sounds like a polka band is trying to cover it or something ( ok well maybe not polka exactly) but it doesn't have the rockabilly feel to it, and that makes the song to me.

I agree. I'm guessing most fans aren't full-time recording artists and are doing this only for fun out of their small home studio setups. No one that I'm aware of is doing this to compete with anyone else or even to get any critiques. It's just a way of expressing a love for Queen music.
With this cover, yeah, compared to professional recording standards (especially those of Queen) it has it's areas for improvement. Anyone doing a Queen cover is automatically at a disadvantage because it's. . well, QUEEN. But the intent behind it makes it very cool for me to listen to anyway.

Here here. sounds fine to me. If that was my band, id be proud.
Yup, definitely glad that there are fan covers coming back.
Now, it's not about whether it sounds like Queen or not. It's about:
a) Does it sound good?
and b) Does it have feeling?
To me, it just doesn't have feeling. It's like listening to a band who are just doing it because of the song's status. Sorry, that's how I see it.
There's nothing wrong with it, sonically, but the playing and the singing just don't do it for me. And I'm the kind of person that can appreciate a cover in straight or altered form. It really doesn't matter for me.
Peace,
Adam.
Just had a fresh listen (listened to the whole thing too). With a song like this, I think it's essential to have sort of the Elvis voice like Freddie did. This cover just does not agree with me. But I also commend them for trying.
