On the tv documentary the other night which was very enjoyable, they said that Roger was the only person alive who knew what the song was about and that he said the lyrics were pretty self explanatory? duh really!!! The interviewer said they had heard that Roger would take the meaning of Bo rhap to his grave. He was really coy when asked, is it something him and fred got up to which he is now a little embarassed to admit?
It's not that difficult.
A guy kills another guy. Then he dies and goes to hell (opera section). Then he returns from hell. The "hell" might also be a product of his imagination.
I always gathered it was a guy killing someone and then he tries to ignore it but these demons keep coming back to haunt him (opera and rock section) and then finally he kills himself and just suffers the consequences of his actions. *shrugs* but that's only my interpretation of it.

along the same line:
I really got a kick out of hearing those "experts" try to discover to song's meaning. They, as far as I can tell, didn't really come to any conclusions about the song's meaning at all. For the most part they just restated the lyrics!
So once again, Queen defies the "experts"

I was watching that today and Brian was saying he didn't know what the meaning was and that thats the great thing about it, that you can take your own interpretation from it.
