OK, this is a dumb topic. But for those who live in the States you might know that 'Hot Topic' is a popular store on malls across the nation that sells all kinds of rock band shirts... most of them from new bands. Rarely you can see shirt from classic rock artists like The Stones, The Beatles, or Pink Floyd. I was quite surprised to see for the first time ever a Queen shirt being sold on 'Hot Topic'. This one was black with the classic phoenix Queen logo. What I also found quite amusing was that all the shirts were gone, and the only one left was a small size. |
SergeantPepperDG 01.01.2005 17:38 |
I got that shirt at Hot Topic! Well, kinda... Normally, when I go to Hot Topic with my semi-punk/goth friend, I just make fun of all the clothes (because most of them are really ugly, IMO). Anyhoo, I was talking to one of the employees, complaining about how there were no Queen t-shirts. She agreed with me. Last week, when I went back, I saw ONE of the Queen t-shirts shoved in the corner shelf, and I got really excited. However, it was a large, so I decided to leave it and get it another time (they said they'd get more in). It's a good thing I waited, because my friend, who just got back from Florida, bought me the same shirt, but it actually fit me b/c it was a small. |

I got that shirt from Hot Topic from my cousin for Christmas! I also got another one, too. |
Mr.Jingles 01.01.2005 18:21 |
I hope that being that they shirts are probably selling well, then 'Hot Topic' will decide to sell other Queen shirts. I am for once crazy for a 'News Of The World' T-Shirt. I was thinking of have it custom made though. |
Matti 01.01.2005 19:05 |
I got that shirt for Christmas! Yay! |
DoctorNine 01.01.2005 20:46 |
I envy all of you who got it. I looked in a few different stores and could find none. I will have to go there and ask them to order some. |
Mr.Jingles 02.01.2005 12:46 |
You could order it online... link They might charge you for shipping though, but in that case it might be better to ask in the store if they can get it for you. |
Megamike The GREAT 02.01.2005 12:57 |
Cool.. I just noticed that there is one of those stores in my old hometown.. of course, me being almost 40, I think I would feel kinda outta place in that, I remember the LAST time I went into Spencers Gifts.. wow.. I had to leave because people were staring at me.. of course I later found out I had mustard on my cheek.. the odd thing is, I HATE mustard, I have NO IDEA how that got there.. hmmm, anyway.. what was I talking about, oh thats right, Back in 1985 when I went to Hawaii I remember buying a Queen t-Shirt at this one store, it was The Works shirt.. I wore that out. |
DoctorNine 02.01.2005 13:34 |
Thanks, Jingles. I'll check out the store first, but the link should be helpful! |

I got a shirt with the Queen II cover on it. I bought that at a shop near where i live. I also have another of which was given to me by a friend. It has the hot space front cover on it but instead of it having four coulours (red, blue, green, yellow etc...) it only has red and blue. My friends friend that originally had it got it from a 1982 concert so it's probably worth a bit now. It's in good condition. I rarely wear that one though. |

That's what people do with football jerseys. Later on (though I doubt you would) you could sell it for a lot of money, especially with the frame. |

I might do that. Not just yet though. It's a small t-shirt. |

They're way too expensive. I got a shirt from ebay for $5+$3 s/h. |
deleted user 06.01.2005 19:34 |
I got it, too! I love Hot Topic! I've gotten David Bowie shirts and a Franz Ferdinand shirt there, also. |
hamsters 09.01.2005 20:26 |
Hot Topic makes me vomit, they've gotten so cheap and tacky in the past couple of years. I remember the old days when they stocked QUALITY goods and people where scared shitless when they walked by. *Sigh* I guess I should be happy theyre selling queen merchandise but it just feels like queen is being fucked up the bum by them ¬_¬ |
Awesome-O _4000 09.01.2005 21:20 |
Hey, I LIKE hot topic... That's so funny, they must have just introduced that shirt everywhere because I just bought that T from there last week! My favorite is the back with all their names! When I wear it, people always read the back of the shirt... |
hamsters 09.01.2005 22:29 |
and clearly a lot of other people like it as well otherwise Im sure Id see less of it... |
DoctorNine 09.01.2005 22:32 |
I finally got it yesterday! Thanks for all the information. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 09.01.2005 23:07 |
I was at Hot Topic yesterday and saw it, but they didn't have my size. But we were looking at the other band shirts and one of my friends picked up a Jimi Hendrix shirt, said, "He's awesome!" and then started humming the riff from Smoke On The Water! |
OrAnGe SoDa 10.01.2005 18:18 |
i bought that shirt!i love it!!! |
LiveAidQueen 12.01.2005 14:55 |
I've gotten a Pink Floyd, Beatle, Ramones, and a Van Halen shirt there...They have cool stuff. |
Introducing_Christina Lauren 12.01.2005 16:25 |
I have that shirt, it didnt come in my size but i bought it anyway LOL. when i saw it i started to spaz outeveryone in the store was staring at me. :) My fave part is the names on the back, too. |
Mr.Jingles 12.01.2005 19:39 |
I hope they bring more t-shirts in the future. I'd love to see one with the 'News Of The World' album cover. |
Freddieshotdate03 13.01.2005 10:15 |
I say that shirt too! It was so awesome! If you have it your so lucky! |
Mr.Jingles 13.01.2005 11:05 |
Funny thing that happened to me once was one day when I went to a bowling alley, and I saw this guy wearing a shirt with 'The Miracle' album cover. I really wanted to walk up to him and ask him were he got that shirt, but I felt weird talking to a stranger. I'm a very shy person, though... but I now think I should have tried to talk to the dude. |
Mean Mistreater 13.01.2005 11:13 |
Mr. Jingles, for some reason I find it very hard to find you shy, but online personas usually are more outgoing. I've often wondered what I would do if I bumped into someone who was wearing or listening to Queen. I would have to say something because you just don't see overt Queen fans walking around. That was cool though that you seen someone in a Miracle shirt though. |
Mr.Jingles 13.01.2005 11:32 |
Yeah, I'm a lot more outgoing when talking to people online. That's what comes with being a geek, and I am one. It has it's good things and it's bad things. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 13.01.2005 12:22 |
I'm so much shyer offline, but I'm hoping that if I saw somebody in a Queen shirt, I'd work up the guts to say something to them. I think that's why I felt so in my element when I saw We Will Rock You in Las Vegas, because I finally got to meet people that don't think I'm crazy for being a teenager and loving a band that my mom used to listen to! |
Mean Mistreater 13.01.2005 13:18 |
But Mr. Jingles sir, all Queen fans are geeks, didn't you know?!?! :D I was told I was a geek by another Queen fan just yesterday. |
Awesome-O _4000 13.01.2005 20:11 |
Haha, that's funny. I'm more reserved ONLINE than off. I'm very outgoing and love to talk to people. Not that I'm a ditz or anything, but I can kind of come off that way, unfortunately. Speaking of shirt sizes, I hate how in America it seems clothing lines have made the shirts bigger to conform to the "weight problem". Poor little ol' me HAS to wear a small or she's in big trouble. |
hamsters 13.01.2005 23:35 |
yeah...ive noticed that too about the shirt size re-size. ...not that I dont mind being a small...XD |
KillerQueen840 14.01.2005 07:17 |
Ya, I would love the shirts to be smaller..I have two of those EXACT shirts..one that is much too big, and one that is kinda big. I wear the bigger one with some pants as pajamas and the kinda big but I guess it's ok only cos it's a cool shirt one as regular clothing. ;-) If you think that's bad..I paid quite a bit of money for these shirts online..they are WAY TOO BIG, they come down to my knees! They aren't nightshirts...they are night GOWNS! I was kinda mad at that..but that's ok. I still got a nice Queen hoodie (Bohemian Rhapsody picture of them on it) from that same site..and I like the size of that. But, I'm not complaining, I'm very happy to be able to have Queen clothing! :-) |
DoctorNine 14.01.2005 21:13 |
What was the site? |
KillerQueen840 14.01.2005 21:28 |
link The hoodie sweatshirt I have is awesome and I love it so much. I DON'T reconmend buying anything else off of that site. The quality is very poor and it's very expensive. |
DoctorNine 15.01.2005 12:29 |
Thank you! That link may come in handy... :) |
