I can't remember whether they showed Budapest on there. I think it might be Wembley your thinking of i may be wrong though. I though it was a brilliant documentary. I love watching them. I hope they show Freddie's millions and Freddies love or what ever there called again. I never got to see those two documentary's.
It has been a while since I last posted on here, and, following the broadcast of this documentary last night on the more accessible BBC2, I decided to log in to see if there had been much discussion.
As I should have expected, there have been very few replies to this topic, but lots more to such relevant threads as 'My dog was born on November 23rd' and 'Was Brian a Loser?'...enough said!
For the record, while I felt the 'analysis' of the lyrics to be unnecessary (after all, they failed to offer an explanation), it was extremely interesting seeing the studios at Rockfield, unpublished photos from the sessions, some of the 'TOTP' performance of 'Seven Seas of Rhye' etc, and also nice to hear some of the lesser-known Queen songs get included in Brian and Roger's jamming session ('Tear it Up' and what sounded to me like 'Dragon Attack', though I may be wrong without that bassline to help!). Nice to see the band get treated intelligently for a change, instead of being discussed as though they were all froth and no substance.
I liked it as well. Roy looks funny with blonde hair. Btw, I might sound like a negative iconoclast, but I suspect the photos aren't from Bo Rhap sessions. First of all, the studios do not match, and at least John & Roger's pics are from the Long Away sessions in 1976. I'm almost sure Fred's are from then as well since his clothing is the same as during the Man From Manhattan recordings (Sarm studios, 1976). What I believe is that they didn't have any pics from the Opera recordings so they put the ones from Races recordings, which are almost the same (similar haircuts, same white piano). But it's not a very big deal anyway
