The 7th Pokemon movie is coming out in Canada and United States on DVD on February 15th, just two months after the Japanese DVD release (which is very surprising, as it's usually longer than that).
I'm excited about this, honestly. I'm hoping Miramax (the Disney company that bought the rights to all Pokemon movies starting from the 4th up to current and future releases) will actually make this a proper release, meaning the actual movie being in widescreen! (All the American Pokemon movie DVD releases have always had them pan and scanned for the video releases - although the Canadian version of Pokemon 4Ever actually had a few but very hard to find copies in widescreen(!) - Miramax wouldn't even get back to me regarding why this was, but it must've been a mastering error, and a very good one at that too!)
And to sweeten this, Kid's WB (who have nothing to do with Disney or Miramax) are actually going to show this on their TV channel on Jan. 22nd, 3 weeks before the actual DVD release.
What more can a Pokemon fan want? Maybe the 8th movie out before New Years 2006? ;-)
Oh! Speaking of the 8th movie - some information was released. All that's known is that the rare Pokemon "Mew" from the 1st movie is set to make a return as the title character once more in the 8th movie, which is called "Mew and the Wave-Guiding Hero" (translated Japanese title; American English title will most likely be changed upon dub release)
Otherwise, nothing is known about the movie's plot, or who the "wave-guiding hero" is (though I personally wouldn't rule out the appearance of a Pokemon that has yet to appear in future generation games for the upcoming Nintendo DS Pokemon game releases)
I think they're $179.99 CDN here in Canada (plus 7% GST). I could be wrong, but I'm too lazy to check.
I tried it out though at Best Buy *before it was released*!
It's an awesome device, I'll tell you that much! (Though I hated the game I tried out, which I can't remember the name for!)
And as well, before I go for the New Years holidays, I should mention that in Japan they finally released a Pokemon music video DVD with all the opening and ending themes from the TV series.
Now that's somethin' I'd like to get (though I was kinda hopin for the videos for the movies' theme songs as well, which it doesn't have!)
