Hello chaps. Just been reading an article from 1983 where Brian May was talking about the recording of The Starfleet Project. Was very interested to read that he said that there was loads of material produced during the sessions. As Brian seems to keep everything, I wonder if there's another jam in the Blues Breaker vein waiting to see the light of day ( wishful thinking perhaps). I brought the album on cassette the week it was released, but its virtually unplayable now. I think the lush fat sound of the red special really suits the blues.
How about you guys, or am I the only one who wished Brian had done more in that style?
Great Album ! I gave away my Vinyl to a friend one day (must have been drunk) but now I have it on Bri's "Resurrection"-CD. It's still a lot of fun to listen to and I like the idea of just putting a jam on tape as it is.
it's a japanese maxi-cd of resurrection - it has a screenshot from the video as cover and features "resurrection", live versions of "back to the light" and "tie your mother down" (with slash) from jay lenos "tonight show" in '93, and the complete starfleet album.
HI i absolutely love the live feel of this album and it also features great guitar playing by may and eddie van halen,i don't know about any more material though don't forget it was only a 2 day stint at the los angeles studios but you never know maybe one or two shorter jams may exist who knows.

That's definately NOT a single (and I doubt it's official), maxi-singles have to be <22 minutes.
So that means everything >22 Minutes is at least an EP ? Didn't know that. I'll check the CD when I am at home. I found it years ago in a big local record store among the official releases. I'll check that. But the tracklisting is great anyway, official or not. Nice to hear Bri perform on US-TV.
I'll keep you informed.
I spoke to Brian about the prospect of a solo electric blues album after the release of BTTL - he said that he'd always planned to have a good look into the roots of why he became a guitarist in the first place. He wanted to get back to just playing and playing for fun and that a blues album would be the way to go about it.
Sadly, absolutely nothing has come of it. i would imagine that he has been *advised* by certain people within the management structure that it wouldn't be of much commercial value in terms of it being a multi-million seller. Perhaps that's why there has been no follow up to AW.........?
And, therefore, we have a genius guitarist depping for mediocre musicians in a musical.
A waste of a unique talent.

Sorry to put my 2 cents in here, but that Japanese EP is official.. it was released by EMI/Toshiba, I had it until I needed to get money and sold it.. I had got it in a trade from a guy in New Zealand.. it is actually called the Resurrection EP.. EMI TOCP-8087 is the actual number..
