I have the MIH home video where something is said about Freddie's last interview. It also features some lines fromm Freddie sayin' something like "this is goin to be my best interview etc etc...". The reality is that we never really knew what he did say in that interview!!!Does anyone know something about it?Whe was it done??? |
kleinhond 30.12.2004 07:28 |
I'd also like to know what his last interview was. Must have been connected to The Miracle. |
The Mir@cle 30.12.2004 07:38 |
This is a quote from his last interview. It was in 1991. "I don't really think about when I'm dead or how they are going to remember me. I don't really think about it. It's up to them. When I'm dead, who cares? I don't." also " Everybody wants to be successful. I never ever thought that I was going to make a career of it, but suddenly I realised that this was the best thing I could do." You can find it on the Champions of the World video (also at the Magic Years video??). |

It's not from his interview at 1991, just because he didn't gave them at that time! How Magic Years could contain Freddie's interview from 1991 if the video was released at 1987?!?! It's snpippets from Freddie's interviews from 80s. |
Dariothery 30.12.2004 08:08 |
Yeah it was on champions of the world...but the point is: why did they say it was his last interview while it is never been released? |
Scirocco1977 30.12.2004 08:14 |
So, which interview is it where Fred says "This is going to be the last interview!" Maybe he is just referring to the last interview at a press conference and not the VERY last interview per se. |

It was in Munich, 1984. |

its referring to freddies interview on his 41st birthday in ibiza in 1987 with david wigg .. if you have freddies box set they're all on there, those were his last individual interviews .. then the band were interviewed in 1989 previewing the mircale with mike read on radio 1 |
Scirocco1977 30.12.2004 15:35 |
I do have the boxed set and listened to those interviews only once. Quite a cheap quality for an official CD. How come they can make Freddie sing "locality" alright at Milton Keynes but are unable to get rid of all those noise in the interviews? |
YourValentine 30.12.2004 16:41 |
The so called last interview on "Champions of the World"is just a compilation from various interviews from the 80s. It starts with : "You are the last person I talk to, so you probably get the best interview, darling" or something like that. You can all WATCH this interview on disc 2 of GVH 2. It was done in Munich 1984 in the Musicland Studios and Rudi Dolezal (the interviewer) was the last person (interviewer) on that day. There is no "last interview" |

(also at the Magic Years video??). The magic years video came out in 1987 so how could it have excerpts from 1991 interviews on it? |

"I don't really think about when I'm dead or how they are going to remember me. I don't really think about it. It's up to them. When I'm dead, who cares? I don't." I remember seeing this interview with Freddie looking perfectly well with a moustache smoking a fag. If this was recorded in 91 he would have had either a stubble or no facial hair and he would have looked pretty ill right? Sorry if i seem really moody tonight i'm just tired and have had a busy day. |

i think freddie was too ill in 1991 to gave any interview... maybe the last interview could be done by phone, or something like this... :S |
Serry... 31.12.2004 18:08 |
Freddie hated press and wouldn't gave interviews from his bed even by the phone - why? |

There is no "last interview"that's it there are some stupid virtual book around written by a woman called "A Kind Of Magic" or something like that, where she says the book has Freddie last interview...that's bullshit This "last interview" was from 1984, Munich..well, "Your Valentine" has already explained that, so I will not repeat it Freddie didnt gave interviews in 1991, he hated interviews (but sometimes he said that he had to do it, because it was part of his job), so, if he hated interviews (when he was sane), just imagine what he did it in late 1991, when he was too ill...he didnt gave intreviews!!! |
kleinhond 02.01.2005 10:01 |
so it would seem that the godawful Mike Read of Radio 1 bagged Freddie's last ever interview without knowing it at the time. Unless there were other print interviews for The Miracle? I don't think there were for Innuendo - Q magazine interviewed the other three for a cover feature in early 1991, but Fred was absent, which I thougth was a telling sign at the time.... |

On the "Champions of the world" video, this is what Freddie says: "You're the last person I'm talking to, so you'll probably get the best interview, darling. I don't want to change the world. For me, happiness is the most important thing and if I'm happy then it shows in my work. In the end, all the mistakes and all the excuses are down to me. I like to feel that I'm just being my honest self and as far as I'm concerned I just want to pack in as much of life and fun, having a good time as much as I can within in the years I have. Well there you are, you have it on tape. Use it. Well that's then nearest I've come to a lot of passion in terms of interviews. How much more have you got? Come on, I'm getting bored." You cannot see him talking, so it is probably just recorded. It may be sections of different interviews from the past, but it doesn't sound like that to me. However it is unlikely Freddie would talk about "having a good time" if he was dying - maybe his "last interview" was not as late as we think? Because it is just a recording, there is no way of knowing whether this is Freddie's "last interview", or not, unless anyone has seen him saying this. |

I'd like to see his last interview. Hope it comes on the Greatest Hits III DVD. |

I don't know if it counts, but there is a snippet of Freddie behind the scenes of the Slightly Mad video shoot. He says something like "Once we get it, we'll just do whatever we want" Is it possible that there's an on-the-set mini-interview there? |

He didn't give interview even during Breakthru sessions while Brian, Roger and John did it. |

Yeah - obviously since he gave interviews in his life, one of them was his last one. But the "last interview" on the Champions of the World video are just parts of his interviews from the 80's. |

well this will cheer you up, he did give a final interview early-mid 1991 i think, it was in montreux studio's and if i can remember correct it was with there in-house producer mr david richards! and freddie was being awkward answering questions etc, theres no transcript of the interview but i read the info in either jim hutton's bio, or peter freestones, sorry for not being more precise but ive got the worlds worst memory, but if i find where i read it b/c i got alot of bio's etc then i'll post it, and yea freddie was very ill at the time of the interview, freddie was still travelling to montreux in secret rite up till his final months or even weeks, |
jasen101 28.01.2005 23:13 |
Freddie's last interview was at Metropolis Studios in London in January 1991 during the filming of "Headlong" ...that's where he starts off the interview by saying "hello, my name's Kim Basinger...." They haven't shown the rest of this interview...hopefully they will show it on the final Greatest hits DVD. I believe his last recorded word ever is "FAB" ...right at the end of track 13 on "made in heaven" |

Polishing a turd? Guess what, it's still shit! Seriously, those Wigg tapes can't be cleaned up to sound pristine. Even seriously good NR can't help and can possibly make it worse. Peace, Adam. |

It would be interesting to hear him talking away from the spotlight, I think-really being himself. Mind you, if they're going to sell any copies of the GHIII dvd they'd best put something on there other than the fucking songs, since the album's so lame-they might as well shove some interviews on there to lure the rest of us idiots into buying it! I'd buy it if there were the slightly mad clips and any interviews of any interest, rather than the slightly rubbish one with Brian and Roger on the Milton Keynes DVD. |

OK so we've established that "this is my last interview" was from the early '80s several times...do people read the other replies before replying? Sorry I'm drunk :) |
