Perhaps they wanted to avoid monotony in the record - note Hammer and Tear are very similar in style to this one -. Mack said that they left out A human Body because there were already three ballads in the album, so they didn't want it to get too melodic.

Yes. I mean they left out AHB off the Game because there were already three ballads there (Save Me, SASS & PTG), so perhaps the similar thing happened with I Go Crazy, in its context (The Works, and the fact there were already two very similar tracks)

I don't really know why they left I Go Crazy of The Works album. In my opinion that's one of thier best songs during the Works period. Perhaps they didn't think it was good enough for a album track. I think it should have been though.
Well, I remember reading the liner notes on The Works, and seeing a reference to "I Go Crazy", but had NO IDEA what it was about.. this was before Hollywood Records were nice enough to actually release it as an added bonus track.
It's really sad they left it out... I absolutely love it. I also love Hammer to Fall and Tear It Up, it's true the'rre similar, but still... I'd have loved to see it on an album.
The same thing for See What A Fool I've Been. I can't understand why they didn't get it on Queen II... it's unlikely they hated it. If they did, then why did they record it on 25 July 1973 for the BBC (with diff lyrics, I know, but stil the same song...)?
'See What A Fool I've Been' was left off because it didn't fit the lyrical or musical themes of Queen II.
'Stealin'', 'Hijack My Heart', 'My Life Has Been Saved', 'Hang On In There', and 'Chinese Torture' were all left off The Miracle because of the obviously superior 'Party', 'Khashoggi's Ship', and 'My Baby Does Me' (that's sarcasm).
'I Go Crazy'...well, there's no logical reason for its exclusion, except that it was too similar to 'Tear It Up' and 'Hammer To Fall'. All things considered, I'd rather have 'I Go Crazy' instead of 'Tear It Up'.
Pretty strange - See What A Fool I've Been was off because it wasn't in Queen II mood and I Go Crazy was off because... it was in the mood of The Works! :-)
Yeah, guys, I agree with you - I Go Crazy had to be on the album even if it was similar to Hammer To Fall and Tear It Up - I think no-one would ever be bored of hearing Hammer To Fall or I Go Crazy on the same album (actually they released a whole album of such 'similar' tracks - "Queen Rocks").

Yes, well Chinese Torture is sheer bloody torture on the ears if you ask me. But don't knock "My Baby Does Me". It's a very solid track (It might never win any awards for the lyrics, but it grooooves). I'm totally with you on Party and Khashoggi's Ship though.
As for I Go Crazy, I think they should have put it on The Works. It's a good track, and that album isn't that long.
