OK, I know this is a materialistic topic but it's up to everyone to answer it. I got an Ipod. I actually didn't expect that one because I was actually looking forward to buy my sister's Ipod, which she's selling because she wants to get the new one that displays pictures. I'm very happy I got it though. I also got Halo 2, and the new Aerosmith Live DVD. It's one hour past midnight here, and since I'm from Latin America we always celebrate Christmas at my house opening the presents at midnight, instead of the way it's tradicionally done in the States by opening presents Christmas morning. I'm spending Christmas at my girlfriend's house, and later at her sister's place for dinner. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 25.12.2004 02:29 |
I got a bunch of clothes, a few CDs and two charms for my charm bracelet for Christmas. And my aunt promised me a day at Best Buy, so I think I'm going to get a Guns N' Roses or a Pink Floyd concert DVD. For Christmas Day, we're going to to my cousin's house for dinner. Too bad it's an hour drive to get there! Hope everybody else is having a good holiday! |

He made it for us and from now on it will be tradition that we make ornaments together each year. a poster charicature of the both of us (LOL...) lots of crunch bars...mmm! and he also gave me an autograph of Freddie Mercury. He had been saving that to give to me for months. :^) (now it goes with the other autograph he gave to me of all the No Doubt members!) ...I have yet to buy and give him his presents, but he will get them! I told him he was getting a big kiss and he could not complain that that wasn't good enough. ;^) ....Merry Christmas, everybody! |

Strange, I got this BIG, and I do mean BIG black rock.. it was very dirty too, left black dust everywhere. and there was a note taped to it saying "Next year, you will get the entire Quarry.. Signed Santa" |
Janet 25.12.2004 09:40 |
My Christmas party with my brothers and sisters was actually last Sunday. We rent a lovely room, with floor to ceiling windows, and you can see the beautiful snow all around. We each bring a dish, and Santa Claus comes and brings gifts to all the little ones in our family. Yesterday afternoon, Christmas Eve, I made roast beef, and invited my father in law over. We had a very nice time. This morning, Dan, Chris and I had a big breakfast and opened gifts. I'm preparing to cook a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, then we'll be off to my husband's sister's home for dessert. (of course you know that my favorite gift is my new chinchilla baby, who has been christened St. Nicholas... Nicky for short! ;-)) |

I had a great day but didn't feel too well. I don't feel too good today but i'm still enjoying myself. My mum cooked a brilliant christmas lunch yesterday and to go with it, i had some Champaign. Well it was Bucks Fizz but it still has Champaign in it. Hope you all had a gr8 christmas. |

My parents forced me to watch "The Godfather" parts 1 and 2. Okay... well, it was really against my will. But they'd been bugging me for awhile to see it. |
Mr.Jingles 26.12.2004 12:16 |
As long as they don't force you to watch the 3rd one, then maybe it's not that bad. Spending 3 hours watching Sofia Coppolla's crappy acting is indeed a torture. I like the 'Godfather' movies but I think they are a little bit overated. The second one is the best, though. |
SergeantPepperDG 26.12.2004 12:36 |
My dad didn't even let us rent the third one. I think the second one was my favorite too. I liked the scenes (with Robert DeNiro) that showed how Vito came to be the Godfather. It's funny, my mom's favorite scene is the one where Michael and Kay are having that HUGE arguement. She loves the line, "IT WAS A SON, MICHAEL! A SON! AND I HAD IT KILLED!" I don't know why that's her favorite scene. |
Megamike The GREAT 26.12.2004 12:37 |
The only interesting thing about Godfather 3 is the fact that it was mentioned on The Simpsons during that episode where Moe becomes best Friends with Maggie, and Queens "You're My Best Friend" is played, anyway, there is a scene where Fat Tony (Joe Mantegna) says he hasn't cried this much since paying to see Godfather 3, and the funny thing is.. HE "Joe Mantegna" played Joey Zasa in Godfather 3... |

Hello! And Happy Holidays to all of you! For xmas this year i got 6, yes 6, Queen cd's! I was over joyed! They are: Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Day at the Races, News of the World, and Innuendo. I also got the Live Aid DVD and Queen's On Fire Live at the Bowl. A verrry good christmas if you ask me. I also got some books and The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age for PS2. Currently I'm listening to My Melancholy Blues on NOTW through my computer. :) |
TheMiracle 26.12.2004 15:53 |
I got a guitar pedal (I love it!), two shirts, and two jackets. In the morning I went over to my Grandma's where pigs feet sopa, tortillas, beans, and tamales were served. In the evening, my uncle, aunt and cousin came over for a pot roast dinner. I had a lovely evening being surrounded by family. :) |
inu-liger 26.12.2004 16:16 |
Lessee, I got... ...for DVD's: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Widescreen 2DVD) Fahrenheit 9/11 ...for CD's: ...nothing :( ...others: -A book on how to draw manga (my stepmom didn't know anime and manga were the same thing(!), so she got me this instead!) -A set of Pikachu earmuffs(!) - from my aunt -A navy blue sweater (from my grandparents - I actually picked out this shirt myself, as navy blue is my absolute most favourite colour) -Chocolates from my two sisters and in my stockings... -Gum -more chocolates -the manga drawing book mentioned above -candy ...and $15 cash from my step-brothers' grandmother, $20 cash from my uncle Ron, and $40 in Future Shop gift cards (all CDN$) - actually, I got both two gift cards Best Buy and Future Shop (one from each), both worth $20 each, but my stepbrother (the oldest one) offered to trade me his Future Shop gift card of the same value, so I figured "Why not? I can make one trip out of it instead of two" So with the money and gift cards I had (bar $20 towards Xmas present bills), I took my friend out to Future Shop in north Edmonton. He got the Linkin Park "Hybrid Theory" CD (which we're both listening to atm. as I write this) with his money, and I got the "Aladdin" Disney Special Edition 2DVD set, and also the Linkin Park "Breaking The Habit" video DVD. Afterwards, I treated him to McDonald's (well, we both sort of ended up splitting the bill, cos I didn't have enough spending money left to get all that we wanted, so I borrowed money from him, which I promised to pay back as soon as my Christmas bills are taken care of) As for how I spent Christmas Day: well, I spent the day recovering from my nearly week-long cold (feeling fine now, but still have problems with my sinuses (especially when I blow or sniff really hard - it hurts when I do), not being able to smell anything still, even though I've regained my sense of taste), and am having problems with headaches, taking Advil for relief) I spent it otherwise with my grandparents from Ottawa (who are spending their first ever Christmas away from home! I last spent Xmas with them otherwise in 1996, back when I was living in Quebec) We had a huge dinner with most of my stepmom's family last night for Xmas, after which we received Xmas dinner table presents (I got a new mini notebook almost exactly like the one I currently am using, except it's black on the cover - mine's navy blue I think) As for today (Boxing Day 2004), like I said, I went to my friend's (and am still there right now until I leave this evening), went shopping and ate at McDonald's, and now we're both on the two computers, listening to Ranma 1/2 anime music and Linkin Park (I just love Linkin Park! They're just as good, if not better, than Queen at some levels!) This ends my annual post for Christmas (2004). Btw. I think it was me who started the "What did you get for Chrismas" 2003 post last year, so it's nice to have someone else do it this year. I'd like to do next year's Xmas post... :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Years 2005, minna! (everyone!) |
inu-liger 26.12.2004 17:02 |
Btw. I didn't get all of my presents for Christmas as well! My mom and her girlfriend (who, by the way, got engaged on this past Christmas Eve!) have yet to send out their presents - they said that they will send them out this upcoming week. (I hope they ship it Express!) I hope my mom got me the Queen On Fire: Live At The Bowl 2DVD set I asked for for Christmas! I'll be REALLY disappointed if she doesn't! |

This topic? Materialistic? I'm pretty materialistic...so I'll reply. Some idealistic people say that being materialistic is bad. Whatever, if you don't want your materials, I have an idea. You can give them all to me. By your logic, that would make us both happy, eh? :-P Most of my friends got iPods...but I have a CD player...and a lot of CDs...so I saw no desperate need to waste so much money for an iPod, regardless of the insane amounts of convenience it provides, and regardless of its total awesomeness. Well, for Christmas my main gift was a guitar amplifier, but I also got many CDs, DVDs, clothes, food, and such. I would write more, but I'm kind of tired right now. |
