Orin > Thank you for contacting Comcast High Speed Internet, my name is Orin. How can I help you this evening?
William > you real or a bot?
Orin > I am real.
William > good
William > hi
William > do you mind telling me how giganews finds i've used 75 percent of a gigabyte when i know i've not come close too 100 mbs this month
William > downloading headers doens't count
Orin > Is this William?
William > reading messages, posting no more than 20 pics at most
William > yes it is
William > all in alt.binaries.photos.original
William > and reading a few of the subscribed newsgroups every day
William > posting less than 15 kbs each in messages
Orin > Ok, you are correct, the headers do not sount towards that. Uploads are also not included in that. That is how much has been downloaded under that username this month if it is listing that as the amount though.
William > regarding downloading photos,
William > and orin, that is entirely incorrect
William > ive got a copy of every message ive sent
William > every single one of them
William > and they do not add up to any more than 100 mbs
Orin > Sent? The uploads are not included in that.
William > perhaps not to you or i, but to others that is shortchanging
William > much has been downloaded under that username this month if it is listing that as the amount though.
William > that is what you wrote
William > and i know ive not sent out more than 100 mbs
William > regarding downloaded, that is included in that 100 mbs
William > do the math, the biggest text message accounts for no more than 15 kbs
William > ive read that giganews is expanding usage to 2 gigs per month
William > yet came to understand that comcast is distancing from giganews in someways
William > how
Orin > Yes, that is correct.
Orin > I'm not sure I understand what you mean.
William > in this month alone of december, ive probably posted no more than 10 photos, none bigger than 100 kbs
William > it was written in the comcast bulletin board, sorry i don't remember much more
William > also orin,
Orin > That has nothing to do with what has been uploaded. That is only the downloads.
William > i am here to tell you that as owner of link
William > (and again i am telling you ive downloaded no more than 100 mbs) 900 to go and it does not add up to seventy five percent)
William > for whatever reason comcast decided not to broadcast in the s. e. massachusetts area
William > the entire feed of nelson mandelas 46664 concert in nov 2003 via tv as promised to the entire nation who did get it as well as 3rd world countries
William > for the record, cnn and cspan did promise to carry that feed live everywhere
Orin > The only thing I can suggest really would be to contact Giganews then if you feel it is incorrect. They track those downloads for each of the usernames and would be able to tell you exactly what has been downloaded on your username.
William > i am hereby telling you that when 46664 #2 does come to foxboro mass, gillette stadium, that broadcast at all levels should be comptletly free again, at all levels of broadcasting in every aspect
Orin > I'm sorry, but I can only address the high speed cable Internet service here. If you call 1-888-COMCAST and select cable TV they should be able to help you with anything regarding cable TV.
William > and broadcast everywhere
William > no, ive told you
William > why
William > comcast didn't make it apparent at your domain as well
Orin > Did not make what apparent?
William > 46664 the november 2003 concert
William > im done here,
William > thanks
William > btw
William > when does the 2 gig start with giganews?
Wi
Why get rid of a topic like this? It's fantastic!
Little Willy goes online with the tech help desk at his ISP and proceeds to ignorantly & ungrammatically whinge, whine & generally complain at some poor schmuck making minimum wage in an office somewhere about the decision making of a different department just over a year ago.
Wrong people, wrong approach, wrong time. You might as well copy this to Jed Bush - he had about as much to do with it as this poor guy.
