When i heard this guy on the hall of fame show (channel 4) i thought he was crap, he ruined the sound of the songs and just didnt sound or look right.
I know it wouldnt happen but i would have gone for someone like George Michael who was bloody oustanding in the tribute concert, he has a great range of singing, he can also hit the high and low notes brilliantly. And also hes a mega star, not some twat like paul rodgers.

I totally agree. I watched the hall of fame thing and Paul Rodgers was crap. He seemed to slot in a "hey!" or "yeah!" inbetween every other word, and appeared not to realise WWRY's lyrics are meant to be rapped, not sung.
And yes, George Michael would be my choice aswell. He was brilliant for the tribute concert, and his voice is the closest to Freddie's ive heard. But perhaps Brian/Roger do not know him well, or he does not have the time to work with Queen :(
