Well, we need a break from this Tour/Paul Rodgers fuss...
What's non-Queen song you'd like to hear in Queen's cover version?
NB: Under Queen name here I mean Fred, Brian, Roger and John... :)
Great question. There are so many beautiful songs I'd love to hear in Queen version. Very often when I listen to some good song I wonder how it would be if Freddie had sung it.
I don't know why but I've always wanted to hear Freddie singing Sinatra's "My Way"- it's just so him. :-) Oh and Led Zeppelin's "Since I've been Loving You" would be quite interesting or another Zep's song since they were/are their big fans.

I heard a song on the radio some days ago and I thougt it would be perfect for Freddie. But I don't know it's name and I've never heard it again. But it was so perfect for Freddie that I could hear his voice in my head.. I would like to know what song that was.
Rescue Me and Respect from Aretha Franklin
For The Longest Time from Billy Joël (just beautiful to hear Freddie, Bir and Roger and I guess the fourth should've been Spike)
Johnny B Good, Burning Love, Midnight Train and Hound Dog from Elvis
Time of your Life from Green Day
Paradise City from Guns N'Roses
I Feel Good from James Brown
Paradise By the Dashboardlight from Meatloaf
Mrs. Robbinson from Simon and Garfunkel
Papa was a Rolling Stone from The Temptations
The Boys are Back in Town from Thin Lizzy
Back in Black from AC/DC
ye, it's a long list .. sorry :p
My Way, yeah!
uuhm Elvis? Always On My Mind? Suspicious Minds?? he could pull that off! Some soul/Motown stuff maybe, and of course some duets with Madonna, MJ, Annie Lennox and Aretha Franklin and well uuhm *cough* BONO! :D
I like the way they did Jailhouse Rock, I don't like that song but at least their version was worth listening, I think a studio version would have been nice, with piano parts (in a Don't Stop Me kind of way), some harmonies and multi-tracked guitars. That leds me to think of another one: Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting. I like so much the The Who version, I think Queen would have done it great as well, more or less as they did it live, with piano and Roger+Freddie singing, then in the studio they could add a kick-in solo.
Man From Manhattan would be great in a full-Queen version. I like Eddie Howell's voice a lot, Freddie's version wouldn't be better but wouldn't be worse either, just different, and the world would be mroe privileged if the two versions existed :)
Apart from those, I think some Beatles covers would be a lot of fun ('Because' with the three of them singing and Freddie playing harpsichord), and maybe some Abba songs, like That's Me or SOS. I mean imho nobody can hold a candle to the voices of Frida&Agnetta, they were just pure magic (and so hot too), but a Queen version of those would be, again, quite cracking as well.
Following the Barcelona project, I always have wondered how far they could have taken some classical + rock combination, in a Was It All Worth It kind of way. It'd be nice if they did some kind of "game", like starting off with that Mozart Concerto (I don't know the exact name, that one very famous...) and then all of a sudden changed to Rock Me Amadeus.
Oh, and Pink Floyd's Money would be great in a Queen-esque way. Again not better, not worse, just different. Instead of choir singers we would have Roger & Brian, or Freddie & Brian (I think Roger's voice would suit it better as lead), there wouln't be sax or organ solo but instead we would have some piano parts and a delicious Deaky bass impromptu. The whole version would be, imo, more rocker than the Pink Floyd one, and less bluesy. Worth listening. Having said that, I think Run Like Hell would be perfect, Roger & Fred doing duet singing in a similar way they did in Action. It would be work way with all the delayed guitar, as a surprise after Brighton Rock solo.
