Hey folks.. I know you think the hub is safe because it is in the Netherlands.. but read this.. link
"We have taken action against over 100 servers in many countries on four continents," said John Malcolm, the director of worldwide anti-piracy at the MPAA. He said steps were taken this week in the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Finland and the Netherlands.
The measures taken this week, however, were not directed at individuals who download movies. Instead, the targets were people who act as conduits between downloaders and three specific "peer-to-peer" file-sharing technologies: BitTorrent, eDonkey, and DirectConnect.
These intermediaries provide users with lists of movies, songs and television shows that can be swapped with other users.
"This is another category of pirate," said Macolm. "These people are parasites leeching off the creativity of others."
Malcolm also said that legal notices have been sent to Internet service providers ordering them to intervene and shut down these middlemen, also known as "trackers," "servers" and "hubs."
say what you want, this came from CNN...
I am not trying to scare anyone. I am trying to let you know that this IS happening.. of course they may not come after YOUR hub but.. I do know some of you do go into other hubs too...
this is just a little bit..
Every month there is published somewhere an article about illegal downloads. If I must believe everything what they write then I was picked up by police 2 years back.
I'm not worry about it. It is peoples own choice to login to the Queenhub or not.
There are no signals from my internetprovider or other sources that we are doing something wrong. They are not trying to bring the hub offline.
It is not 100% safe what we do, but we try to do the best to keep copyrighted official releases out of the hub.
That's my opinion.
Believe me when I say we have nothing to fear here in Holland. (well for now anyway)
There are so many problems around here that need to be fixed first that I seriously doubt filesharing would be one of them. :-)

Youceff Servers Raided

French police have at least temporarily shut down Youceff Torrents, one of the largest torrent sites and recently listed in Slyck’s Top 10 SuprNova Alternatives.
Arjan, the site administrator, was given no warning. The first signs came Monday afternoon when the site went offline. The hosting company initially said it was due to an electrical fault.
This morning, Arjan received and e-mail explaining that the servers had in fact been deliberately terminated and the police where on scene. Slyck spoke to a rather nervous Arjan, who explained that the police would find nothing on the servers but torrent files. He does not host any FTP servers or warez.
Arjan does not live in France, or believe he has done anything wrong, but he is naturally apprehensive that the local police will make a visit to his door.
and of course, new harder to track ways of downloaded are being invented and introduced all the time. By the time they "conquer" one method of sharing, it is already somewhat obsolete.
I don't mind what they're doing, so long as they continue to stay a few steps behind :)
