How much would you all be willing to bet the band won't come near the US? I don't think it's fair that they toss all of their US fans aside...I mean, they don't even have to stage a large scale tour...Just a major city tour thats close enough so most people can at least travel a practical distance. My only hope is that because Bad Company and Free, to a certain extent, were pretty big here in the US that Paul Rodgers will talk some sense into the others. I know most American fans will agree with me while the European fans will make comments like " Deal with it." But It's alot easier to say that when you can't wait to get your tickets in four months. As I saw one poster say " If they don't come here ( the US ), then I will burn my queen items for good". I'm with you. |

I think you could put on the fire......... |
Melancholy Blues 12.12.2004 10:45 |
they wont come to australia either, though i don't think i will be burning anything |
Penetration_Guru 12.12.2004 13:11 |
Awww diddums. The US (generally) were very quick to ignore Queen, so screw them. Australia should consider themselves lucky to have had shows in 85, after the treatment they got in 74. Ireland should be excluded for being a country so obsessed with the "troubles" that God Save The Queen can't be played (despite being ok in every other country in the world). Holland & Italy should be excluded for failing to prevent bootlegs being so widely available, and Germany should be discounted for having such pedantic judges. And the French smell.... |

Yeah, I'm sad that they prob wont be going to Ireland (but I dont know for a fact) but let's face it, they cant be supermen ALL the time!I agree. They are what... in their fifties, and they're still working hard. Atleast they're having a tour at all. And it's true, they can't get everywhere, so they have to choose the places where they think they will be most appreciated. What would you do in their position? |

Whatinthewhatthe? 12.12.2004 14:21 |
I don't see them coming to the US...for promoting the musical and gathering CD and DVD awards, yes, but touring? Naah! They're "busy" people, you know. |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 17:02 |
People complaining because they won't play where they live? I'm talking about America...the 4th biggest country in the world...you act like I'm pissed because I live in West Bublefuck Michigan and they won't come here...No. I'm pissed because they probably won't play anywhere in America. And as for them being old...thats part of them being musicians...regardless of how old they are...It has nothing to do with them being old. It has to do with them not giving a shit about their American fans. Its about them being pissed because some toothless rednecks didn't give a shit about them back '83. It's a different time now. Freddie's death along with "Waynes World" and the recent use of many of Queen's songs in commercials has brought Queen to the forefront of more peoples minds than ever before in this country. |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 17:10 |
OH GOD! I'M SO PISSED THEYRE NOT COMMING TO PLAY IN OUR EXECUTION STADIUM IN BURUNDI!....ITS AMERICA FOR GOD SAKES! |
Mercuryworks 12.12.2004 19:27 |
did anyone here of the band pentara or something like that shooting in Columbine There You Go |
Penetration_Guru 12.12.2004 20:09 |
Um, it was a Pantera offshoot group and in Columbus, but hey, nice to know you're keeping up on current events... |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 20:20 |
Well you know, I hope Queen resists playing any football stadiums in Europe, God knows you all can'tkeep from killing each other there. |
egret 12.12.2004 21:13 |
Hey, Mr. Mad Guy et al., did you not notice that the "toothless rednecks" have basically taken over the country? There's plenty of reasons for bands not to play here, including the intermittent musician shootings. Not to mention the declining economy. Don't take it so personally. --Egret |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 21:36 |
I wouldnt exactly call John Lennon getting shot in 1980 and "Dimebag" Daryl getting shot last week "intermittent" |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 21:39 |
That's like saying that they shouldn't play England because of their intermittent world wars. |
egret 12.12.2004 22:24 |
You're forgetting all the rap shootings. Tupac etc. Thug life is America. --Egret |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 23:08 |
Thug life? You're right though...Brian May rolling down the strip in his Escalade. Lil Jon and the east side boyz roll up next to him...and shoot him. Are you crazy? |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 23:10 |
There's more a chance for him to eat a Mad-cow infested burger in England then there is of him getting shot by a rapper in the States. |
Lester Burnham 12.12.2004 23:21 |
You're all jumping the gun a little too soon here. Fuck's sake, the news hasn't even been out for two days and you're already getting your panties in a twist. Give it some time before the dates are announced, and then resume your bitching. |
Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 23:31 |
Fair enough |
Cheese Eater 12.12.2004 23:37 |

Lester Burnham 12.12.2004 23:39 |

Mr.MadGuy 12.12.2004 23:57 |
I disagree. Cheese is life giving goodness. |

If i was living in America i would still love to see them and i would be very dissapointed if they did not visit America. |

And they probably won't Ducksoup/Mr.MadGuy ... From Queenonline: The tour is official and will take place in the Spring of 2005 across mainland Europe and the UK. |

Calm down people...even if they have no immediate US tour plans SO WHAT! As for the Anti-American sentiment I found on this topic I can only say judge not lest ye be judged...I admit America is a dangerous place and the lost of Dimebag was very sad but that is the state of affairs here at the moment...its not our finest hour. Besides I would not blame them for avoiding America but nothing is written in stone yet, so while there is hope, lets hope they may come here. BTW to compare the rap murders of Tupac and Biggie to Dimebag's murder is ridiculous because Rap is a music run by gangs (the Crypts and Bloods to be exact) and those Rap murders were organized crime hits. Dimebag was killed by an obssessed fan much like John Lennon, so thats where it ends. The music industry in some genres is run by organized crime nowadays and as soon as you get hip to that my friend you are lost. Kriz |

Hi PG, 'Ireland should be excluded for being a country so obsessed with the "troubles" that God Save The Queen can't be played (despite being ok in every other country in the world).' Do you have ANY idea how offensive that is? For the record, as far as I recall, Queen DID end one of their Irish gigs with 'GSTQ', but can't recall which one. The fact that they chose to end the others with different music was THEIR decision. |
anato 14.12.2004 16:28 |
Im from Ireland as well...greetings I only logged on to take issue with that moronic statement from PG about the "troubles" Try putting the reasons for the so called "troubles" in context. I think you are right Harry H...i think it was the Works tour that they played GSTQ I dont think they will play Ireland...maybe the point but doubt they would fill it. |

There's no need to threaten me with bible sayings. I didn't compare Dimebag's murder to the murders of Tupac and Biggie -- I mentioned the murders of Tupac and Biggie as further violent deaths of entertainers in the US. We agree that the US nowadays promotes a dangerous, violent culture and that it is not our nation's finest hour. Rap is run by the Bloods and the Crips (not Crypts) the way Frank Sinatra was run by the Mafia -- organized crime gets a cut of many industries in the US (and the world), including the music industry. I believe the late rappers in question used the gangs as security in much the same way the Rolling Stones used the Hells Angels at Altamont, and with similar bad results. Gangs are another reason the US is dangerous and violent. --Egret |

And in 74, I have sympathy for their treatment, but if you know the full story, it was not so cut and dried. Queen did NOT do their homework well. That sort of festival in 1974's Australia was NOT the place to introduce themselves to the country. What were they thinking!! Amd the compere of the night was a total asshole and virtually incited the audience to riot, calling Queen all sorts of names etc. Believe me, I have been paying the price for those assholes since I became a fan (unfortunately I was too young to go to the 76 gigs), and I was bloody 20 before they came back. I think there is a remote chance of a tour down here, IF Europe goes great guns. America on the other hand hasn't got a shit show of a chance :) |
