I have a little game, just for fun ! Guess who will be the support act for this QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS 2005 TOUR..? - The Darkness - Jeff Scott Soto - Foo Fighters - WWRY Cast (remember an european tour was planned ;-( - 5ive - Bad Company - Anita Dobson - Zucchero - Treanna Morris - Velvet revolver or Axl's Guns'N'Roses - Slayer (no I'm joking) Anybody who find the right answer will win 2 backstage passes for the Paris show, June 27 2005 in Bercy ;-) |

I don't think Velvet Revolver will. They're touring Australia around the same time..or should I say 'playing in Perth' which counts for me. I don't care about the rest..bastards. But The Darkness could support. Odder things have happened. |

All of the "serious" suggestions there are big enough to play Arenas in their own right, and are unlikely to want to be anyone's support act anymore. Treanna Morris is a possibility, SAS is unlikely given half of them (IMHO) will be in the main act anyway. Possibly there would be no support - Brian would do half an hour, then Roger, then Brian & ROger with Paul for 90 mins or some such. Maybe with VH1-style storytellers sections to pad it out and enable three pensioners to pace themselves. |

The reconstituted Village People will have finished their tour with Cher by April. Maybe they could come over to Europe for an opening act. link It would give it that important 80s authenticity. --Egret, ducking |

Thats a great idea BHM1. Most people here wouldnt realise that Population 1 is Nuno Bettencourts new band, which are fantastic. I have all of Nuno's solo CD's and given his past history and mutual admiration for Brian it would be a extremely good choice. Cheers Jobe |

Funny stuff, but I seriously thought about it and I think Thin Lizzy would be a great opening band for the new Queen tour. Here are my reasons: 1. They are a well known classic rock band (especially in Europe) 2. Also missing their main singer/songwriter Phil Lynot but are still touring under the Thin Lizzy name. 3. Have opened for Queen in the past. 4. They still rock!!! I saw them this past summer opening for Deep Purple. They were one of the best opening bands that I've ever seen and a Queen w/Thin Lizzy tour would sound pretty good to a lot of classic rock fans out there. What do you guys think? |

I very much doubt that they would have a support act. They certainly don't need one. Roger or Brian could quite easily fill in 30 mins. If you put on a 2hour show you don't need support either. |

Electric Six so they could upset all the Queen fans who didn't like Radio Ga-Ga again. Gary Cherone could probably do with a job or howabout McFly of Busted to cater for the younger fans? |

I hope for Di-rect. It's a Dutch group. It would be a great oppertunity to support this band and make them more famous in Europe. I think they are a good rock band with great recognizable music. |

I rather suspect it'll be the Wire Daisies.... But wouldn't it be cool to get Rolf Harris up there? he'd cut out the need for the main act to do Bohemian Rhapsody... or how about The Wurzels? anyone who's heard their Nevermind the Bullocks album will know they'd be great! |
Casper Albers 15.12.2004 06:50 |
JDL2nd: "I hope for Di-rect. It's a Dutch group. [..] I think they are a good rock band with great recognizable music." Personally, I think they are totally crap. Did you know that they actually wanted to become a Take That-like boy band, but their manager already managed a couple of them, and wanted a "rock" band? More on topic: I think Queen won't invite Di-rect, since Queen has sued Di-rect for stealing their "merged faced" idea of the cover of the The Miracle album. |

Hi Philipp! If I remember rightly you also went AWOL for a long while too. I'm kinda remembering how it happens, you come back once, and visit the next day to see what goes down. maybe eventually i'll be back to my old posting limit. Although it doesn't seem that many people post lots, apart from the idiotic ones! |
