Hi!
I'm new, here, I mean, I never wrote something on this forum!
Hem, I hope you will understand what I'm writting..
Well, I have some questions:
1)I want to know, if the "live killers" cd is good quality? Or if it would be reedit in a dvd?
2)Can someone explain me where the Queen studio is in Montreux ? Because I searched for it, but didn't find it! so I'm very sad...
3) Do you know if the queens spoke or speak a little bit french? I mean, they were a long time in Montreux..
Thank you very much!
P.s: today is my birthday!^^
Welcome to the board and happy birthday.
You'll get much better answers later, BUT:
1. Live Killers' quality is debatable.
Freddie's voice isn't that great, the setlist is great, though it is a Frankenstein of many different shows.
2. No Idea - wish I did.
3. At least Freddie and Brian did. They spoke it frequently during concerts.
*waits for the good answers*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! and welcome to QZ, I hope you enjoy yourself here.
As for your questions:
1. I think "Live Killers" is pretty good quality, but it is heavily overdubbed. No DVD of it will be release b/c it takes live tracks from many diffent shows.
2. Mountain Studios, Montreux, Switzerland is where Queen recorded part of the Miracle, Innuendo, and MIH (possibly more, but that's all I'm sure of). for more information about it and it's location click here<link
Hi!
The link is bad, I cannot go to the site!
I know that the studio is on "la rue du théâtre", I crossed it three time to find this studio...Is it in the casino "house"?
I really like to hear Freddie speak in french..and what about german(they were in Munich, weren't they?)
I bought me the "made in heaven" cd for my birthday ;)

This might be a dumb question, but were the performances overdubbed due to bad sound/miking or bad playing? Knowing there are overdubs kinda ruins the notion of a 'live' album.
Freddie pretty certainly spoke less French than German. Peter Freestone at least bothered to list "pidgin German" among Freddie's (not particularly varied) language-skills.
Of course, Freddie obviously prepared a couple of short on-stage phrases for their French shows, but this is hardly particularly significant, given that he did the same for virtually every other country they visited.
The only band-member who probably has some basic French-skills is Brian (at least he learned it at school for several years and always made a decent impression when speaking/singing French.
thanks for answering my questions!
Because I'm a newbie here and ask some stupid questions..sorry about that!
but...hum..about the "Mountain studio", do anybody know where exactly it is?, And How I can find it?

Mountain Studio
Rue du Theatre 9
Po. Box : 168
1820 Montreux
Switzerland
Here's some info I found on it, if you care to know a little of it's history: "The Mountain Studios can be found in the most beautiful environment of Switzerland, Montreux. Located directly at the lake and between all the usually snow-covered mountains.
The Mountain Studios were opened on July 3, 1975. The first guests for professional recordings were the Rolling Stones. Since that time the Mountain Studios made itself a name as one of the most prominent recording studios of the world. Many well known artists in the music scene recorded their albums here!
David Richards, chief producer of the Mountain Studios, lives and operates in Montreux since 1975 . Here one meets with celebrities like the Rolling Stones, Queen, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Chris Rea, Chaka Khan, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson and Tina Turner.Beside the co-production of the last four Queen albums and Freddie Mercury's great collaboration with Montserrat Caballé, Richard also co-produced many other well-known musicians. Its live productions at the annual Jazz Festival Montreux, made a name for itself and it supported great names like: Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jarreau, Sting and many more."
Ahaa!
thank you very much I already understand why I did'nt find the studio...and I was thinking it was inside the Casino...lol
But where come the photographs that normally were on the site? There are certainly not too old!
Well, doesn't matter..I saw Freddie's block of flat in Territet!(outside is very nice!)
I thank you all, I had a nice birthday :)

Live Killers is my favorite live album. In my opinion it is excellent. Freddie and Brian both spoke a little French. Welcome to Queenzone Radagast. I hope your made welcome and enjoy yourself. I certainly have been made welcome and i've enjoyed every minute of being on this site.
I still doubt that Freddie spoke French (apart from a few expressions). What's your source ?
Roger may have some (passive, at least) French-skills though, given that the mother of his first two children was French. I totally forgot about that in my earlier post. The existance of Radio Ga Ga shows that French wasn't completely absent in the Taylor's household.
