Whoa whoa whoa folks! Just look at my name.....hint hint anyone? Hehe, nah, I'm just teasing. But I really do feel that Brighton Rock has an amazing solo. No, not just amazing, but fucking amazing. It's great what that word can add to a sentence or statement. I remember reading on best guitar solo's somewhere....Bohemian Rhapsody was of course, in there, but I saw Brighton Rock and nearly pissed myself into oblivion. Good recognition! Woo...now I want some chicken. cheers |
KittyCat 07.12.2004 11:49 |
Of course that Brighton Rock :o)) !! |
Dubroc 07.12.2004 11:54 |

geeksandgeeks 07.12.2004 19:09 |
1) NOT Back Chat. That did not belong in the song. 2) NOT Brighton Rock. Excess does not equal greatness. Now that I'm done being negative :D 1) The Invisible Man 2) Hammer to Fall 3) That acoustic part at the beginning of '39 4) Bohemian Rhapsody |
LadyMoonshineDown 07.12.2004 21:08 |
I agree that excess does not equal anything great.... But Brighton Rock, despite the lengthy solo, is actually rather impressive. I have my cronie pals (ugh, in punk bands....of all things) who are stunned by this. But then again...they are in punk bands, so I'm sure ANYTHING stuns them into pissing their pants and forgetting who they are for an hour, dontcha think? Woo.... cheers Even guitar greats see it as a masterpiece of artistry....but I accept your negativity....oh yes! |
mike hunt 07.12.2004 22:29 |
great king rat and brighton rock, also flick of the wrist. |
Lord Blackadder 08.12.2004 07:07 |
Killer Queen. Bohemian Rhapsody. We Will Rock You. Heaven For Everyone. Don't Stop Me Now. Scandal. I Want It All. Innuendo. These Are The Days... Made In Heaven(the 1st few seconds of the solo are just amazing). Plus More. |
Teo_torriate04 08.12.2004 07:44 |
My vote goes to 'The Millionaire Waltz' absolute bloody genius. |
Brianmay1975 08.12.2004 07:45 |
Brighton Rock at Hammersmith Odeon'75... I dunno if it's Bri's best solo ever, but it's definitely my fav! |
JDL2nd 08.12.2004 13:42 |
The guitar solo in "Put out the fire" is my favourite . Brian recorded that when he was very drunk. "Brighton Rock" is also great. I love the live version on Live Killers. Brian also plays great things in the live versions of "Grazy Little Thing Called Love". |
deleted user 08.12.2004 14:36 |
My favs are Let Me Live and Save Me. I really have no idea why... |
DeaconJohn 08.12.2004 14:38 |
Brian's most effective guitar solo is, in my humble opinion, You Don't Fool Me. Absolutley amazing. |

It just seems overdone to have a three-to-four minute solo in the middle of a song that's supposed to be a band effort. I'm not denying that it's impressive, I want to know how his fingers don't split open, but I think he overdid it. And BIJOU...my GOD. I have holes in my track-changing button from me stabbing it when that song comes on...though it is very pretty for the first minute or so. We'll just have to agree to disagree on those :) Oh yes...Put Out The Fire is terrific! |

Sail away Sweet Sister has ALWAYS haunted me.. I LOVE that solo.. it was the FIRST solo I ever learned, and continues to be a moving piece, of course you can't deny Brighton Rock, but Millionaire Waltz has a close second to Sail Away Sweet Sister. |
reeddr 31.05.2005 20:42 |
Like the post just before mine, I love the "Sail Away Sweet Sister" solo. Alos love: Dragon Attack Brighton Rock - 75 Odeon concert Death on Two Legs And the guitar orchestaion of "All Dead, All Dead". |
