I don't think much of the song on the whole - Freddie or no Freddie.
Their voices do seem to be fighting against one another, but Freddie wins by a long shot.
MJ sounds more like a little girl than ever in this version of the song.
It has a lot of potential.
That's not the only on they did together, in fact I've never heard of this one, bit I'll take your word for it. I have heard There Must Be More To Life Than This, though, it was a crappy uploaded version, but I enjoyed it despite that.
Great collaboration, being a fan of both it made me really happy to hear them singing together.
However, rumor says that while they were recording those songs at his home studio, Michael caught Freddie snorting coke (that was before Michael bought Neverland Ranch). But anyways, it's been said that ever since then Michael never spoke to Freddie again.
Supossedely the tracks that they recorded were 'State Of Shock', 'There Must Be More To Life Than This', and 'Victory'. I have the first two on mp3 files, so I'd gladly appreciate it if anyone could let me know if they have an audio file for 'Victory'.
If anyone wants to hear 'State Of Shock', and 'There Must Be More To Life Than This', I'd be glad to e-mail it. You might be able to get it from Kazaa as well.

You can download "State Of Shock" from this great Polish site: link
Just click 'muzyka' and then of course 'mp3'. :-)
As for "Victory"- I'd love to hear it too, but I don't think it's available for download :-(
i never knew this song was availabe for down load, does fred blow him away? mabe that's why mr. jackson doesn't want the song to be released. i think we know who the better singer was.
State of Shock does suffer from the fact that Fred is so much more powerful.
"There Must Be More To Life Than This" is gentler, and MJ fares a little better. A polished version of this song would've been good.
Does anyone know if Fred wrote any of State Of Shock? It was finally recorded by the Jackson 5 and Mick Jagger, wasn't it?
Yes, 'State Of Shock' was written either by Michael himself or Michael and his brothers together.
I think there are 3 studio versions of 'State Of Shock'... The one performed by the Jacksons 5, the one with Michael and Mick Jagger, and the version with Michael and Freddie.
i thought i heard an interview with freddie where he claimed some co-writing credit - but "gave it to MJ" because they couldn't get time to finish recording it together
to my knowledge, no-one has "Victory", which, as i understand, was written and/or demoed by Queen, then Freddie and Jacko recorded it, and after the whole cocaine thing, it wound up being a Jackson 5 song (or where they J5 at that point? or "The Jacksons"?)
the fact that MJ continues to not put out the "Victory" duet with himself and Freddie, despite his financial troubles, knowing the number of Queen/Freddie fans worldwide who would immediately run out and buy it, almost leads me to believe he may not even have the track any longer.
Their version of 'There Must be...', to me, sounds like a "fan edit" with bits of Freddie's vocal removed and MJ quietly filling them in.
It doesn't sound like they sang it together at all, but if they had,
it could have been beautiful.
I have to agree, their voices do not sound good together Freddie does overpower Michael, I think the Jagger version sounds better. The song sounds more like it was written for Jagger than Freddie.
Not to say Jagger sings better!!!!!! Hell No!
Remember they are only demos anyway. I actually prefer Freddies and MJs version that the one MJ did with Mick Jagger - (that one was weak by comparison). I like the song, even if it is a demo. I remember reading how they did not have a drummer for it (it was just Fred & MJ in the studio "messing about") so MJ had to slam the toilet door for the drum beat (did I read that In Freestones book???? Hmmm not sure, but think so).
I also asked on MJ fan sites about how these two tracks were released and was told it was his "pappy" that leaked them out - from the vaults, but Victory is still in there - locked away. I had hoped it might have appeared on MJs new box set that included demos - but alas, not this time :-((
Maybe someone could go to MJs home, let MJ molest him, then blackmail him into releasing the songs.
I would try it myself but I think I have too many gray hairs on my head. MJ like em younger.
