Search for a program to rip the audio to WAV files (one example is called WinDac32). you would have been better getting the UK editions via play.com (free worldwide shipping) as they dont have copy control technology like the shitty European editions.

That's my problem. I wanted to rip the audio using the Cool Edit Pro 'extract CD' option, but it doesn't 'see' the CD as an CD. To play the CD on your pc you can't use Windows Media Player or Winamp. Instead you have to use some crappy program called 'Player' (how original :-P ).
The only option I can think of is to use that 'Player' program and then record it using Cool Edit Pro or Sound Recorder. Any more solutions?
I have the German Queen on Fire CDs. I don't know whether there is a Copy Control on it or not.
Fact is, whenever I insert on of those discs in my CD-Rom a pop-up tells me that this disc can only be listened to if I install a programme. I cancelled this, started Winamp and lo and behold I could play it and even rip the files without a problem.
So far, I never encountered problems with CDs which bear the Copy Controlled warning.
