...that's what I hope so... As the ones who know me might know, I'm from Barcelona and that's a very thing to be pride of. So, Brian and Roger are recieving three diamond disc (dunno how to spell it) what makes the band to be the most selled in my country, of all its history. They're recieving this prize after the tonight's WWRY show at Apolo Theater. But I have no tickets. And I don't care. Because I'm gonna wait for them just before they get into the theatre, when everybody's inside, and no-one's outside. Wish me luck! Fuck! Amb so nervous! edit: forgot to add Roger on the topic title, damn. |

I made my attempt to meet Brian at the Songwriters Hall of Fame here in New York, last year. Sadly I spent the whole day at the Marriot Hotel in Times Square, and nothing happened. No sign of the long curly haired dude in sight. Hope you have much better luck, Josue. |

Josuè 30.11.2004 16:53 |
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't find the words to explain what I feel and what has happended. For me, it's been the most awesome experience of my life! I got to the theatre an hour before they were supposed to arrive. I went with a friend and accidentally met a friend of mine, she was going to watch the show. The people started to get into the theatre, but a huge crowd stayed outside, and when time went by, more people were gathering there. Finally, the main bodyguard told us to make a human hall for Brian and Roger, and asked us to collaborate with him. I was the first in the hall, so I was supposed to be one of the first ones to get an approach to our loveds. After a long time waiting, I've been all the time staring at every expensive car that passed by us, and I finally saw a big hair inside a car and thought, oh my godness... it's him. BUT the car didn't stop where we were! It rushed to the hotel entrance (besides of being a theatre, it's an hotel), and I immediately started to ran, and unconsciently screamed: they're there! THEY'RE THERE! By that time, all that huge crowd rushed towards the car, me being the leader!! I got in front of the car door and Brian was getting out the car! It was him! In front of me! And when I was about to give him the pen and the Queen II vynil, some asshole pushed me over and gave Brian a pen an a disc. But, after that, Brian held my album, drawed on it and smiled at me. I smiled back at him and I thought "you have to tell him something or you're gonna regret", and the firsts and only words that came across my mind were: "I love you man!" LOL! And he answered back: "oh, it's allright", bith a big smile! :D After pushing everybody to get out of that chaos, I saw another expensive car waiting near us and reguarded by two bodyguards and I thought it was surely Roger, and I wasn't wrong. I ran over it and standed up in front of the door car, pleading Roger to get out of the car!! LOL! He looked ill, really, I think he was feeling bad. They were waiting Brian to get into the hotel. One of the bodyguards told: "okay, get ready". And I trusted him, sure I did, lol! The two bodyguards guarded Roger by the time he was getting out of the car, and also pushing me. I screamed: "Roger, please! Please!", and he looked at me like saying "okay, let's see". Grabbed my pen, and drawed on the disc!! And I couldn't believe what had just happended to me! I had been waiting for that moment since I was a child and I couldn't expect more than that, my god! And (sorry for being so extensive), by the time they already were inside the hotel hall, people still got inside it. And I thought while I was recording with my camera, "oh, I also can get in". And I stormed in and ran like a crazy towards Brian, who was with no-one surrounding him, no fans, no bodyguards, and I recorded him with me in just half meter of distance. And well, after that, some tears fell from my eyes, some stomachache, feeling dezzy... The way back to home has been like floating arround. It's been magic. And I'm the happiest man on the world. Josuè, :) |

Congradulations. But I hope you didnt react like you are writing. Screaming I love you man! pushing pens in their hands..etc.. I love Bri and Roger both believe me. But I wouldnt of went crazy like that. They are human you know. I think they had the crazy reactions from fans years ago. I have respect for both of Brian and Roger. I wouldnt of shoved something in their hands to sign something. Just a nice shake of the hand and a hug would of suited me fine. Roger you said didnt look well? And you still did that?? Hmm .. |
rachael mae. 01.12.2004 02:53 |
Congratulations! Damn, Im jealous. I think Id have been highly hysterical if that were me. |
goinback 01.12.2004 04:24 |
Oh I have been waiting for that moment (still am) since I was little too! What did you mean when you said you recorded yourself with him? As a side note: I wonder if it helps to get their attention with vinyl instead of CDs? They probably assume people with vinyl have been fans for years, and are more likely to sign records.... |

rafajesusmoran wrote: Y un consejo:¿por qué hablas todo el tiempo en ingles?Porque es un messageboard ingles. Nice for you to meet them, sometimes a bit of an obsession is okay... reading that I really admire Brian and Roger staying calm. |
YourValentine 01.12.2004 05:41 |
Good job, Josue :) The only signatures worth having are those you obtained yourself. I hope Roger recovers soon, maybe he was just tired. |
Mr. Scully 01.12.2004 06:29 |
I never understood this whole "I love you" stuff... I felt ashamed when I saw all those screaming fans in Modena and I thought "poor Brian". But he's obviously already used to it. Anyway, congratulations, I'm sure it's a very nice experience for you. |
Voice of Reason 2018 01.12.2004 07:44 |
Indeed, but you very rarely get the chance to rehearse what you're going to say, you only have a few seconds and, after all, we do love him!!! |

Josuè 01.12.2004 09:12 |
Hey, thanks for the comments! Well, the only proof I have is one badly taken picture by a friend while Brian was signing my vinyl, the 'recorded' Brian and me (my camera has video recorder as well) and the signatures on the vinyl! Well, maybe my words seemed obsessive, but believe me, in that moment I dind't have the time to react like a crazy girl. I just ran, like everybody there, to the cars, pleaded a signature politely and told them the first thing that came in my mind. I actually thought previously what I'd say to them, but the fact is that my mind went blank and I just told them what I feel. You should see the face Brian did when I told I love him. I just... this is what I felt. And, oh, I screamed at Roger while he was getting inside the hotel: "Roger! You are the best!". You see, these sort of things are those you say in the moment without stopping and thinking. And, I also thought that about the vinyl. I think being relatively young and with a Queen II vinyl helped me to catch their attention, and it really was what it seemed, Brian's face looked a bit surprised when he saw me and the vinyl. Anyway, I repeat you that I just wish I had more time to act like a crazy fan, because I just forgot to touch them, either a handshake, a hug... I just was blank. I don't know the ones who have already met them, but when you are there, you just don't think of it, you don't realise that the ones you have in front of you are those who you are waiting to meet since you were a child. It's awesome:) pd: I couldn't sleep yesterday!! edit: it happended in Barcelona's Apolo Theater. |
YourValentine 01.12.2004 09:26 |
No need to explain yourself, Josuè :) You did nothing wrong. I am sure Brian and Roger are used to fans who don't know what to say, they have been there a thousand times. And it does not really matter what you said as long as it was nice and not something rude :) |
deleted user 01.12.2004 10:16 |
Yeah, no need to explain yourself. Congrats, I would love to meet them, I am soooo jealous ; ) |

Does anyone know how I can meet up Brian or Roger (but I'm more cean to meet Brian)? I've got his email address already, but I really want to meet him in person. |
Brian_Mays_Wig 01.12.2004 11:52 |
I have to admit, the first time I ever saw Brian Live i had a few tears in my eyes, I got so close it was a dream come true. And when I shook hands with Roger in 99, I was bowled over, Its absolutely ace when you get to see your idols up close, Im glad you had a good time Josue - id have been the same! Oh yeah, you said Roger looked ill - thats called obesity. :o) |
Brian_Mays_Wig 01.12.2004 11:54 |
To add, it wasnt the first time I saw Brian live, the first time I saw him was at the Fred Tribute - but they were about the size of a pea on that Wembley stage - so that doesnt really count! |
KingRat 01.12.2004 11:58 |
Great story Josue, congratulations. I know exactly how you feel because I was in a very similar situation a couple of years ago when I flew to Los Angeles for the walk of fame ceremony. I had the best day of my life when I got both Brian and Roger to sign my ANATO CD Sleeve. I was waiting for them to appear from a club on Holywood Blvd for over an hour after the official ceremony was over. A lot of people didn't think they would be coming out and gave up while a few of us stayed and were rewarded for it. Later that night I was in front row standing only inches from Brian and Roger and special guests (Steve Vai, Nuno Bettencourt) as they performed a great set for a few hundred of us at a small club. I got lots of pictures to remind me of that day and when I got back home I think I must have told my story to everyone I knew for about a month. I hope all younger fans get a chance to meet them and hopefully see them perform at least once. |
Jjeroen 01.12.2004 12:16 |

Ha haaa Jose, You were acting like a crazy fan, lol. Nothing bad, My gut reaction when meeting someone I admire is to grab and hug.. Lucky I wasnt there, they would have had to prive me off of both Roger and Brian, lol. Anyway congrads. PS: I personally dont like to see fans screaming their heads off. Remember Brian and Roger are human. |
