What are you doing on Christmas? Celebrating with your family? And what are you doing to make it a good family celebration? I already baked my cookies which is a lot of work and I am happy to have it done. Now it's buying the presents which I enjoy and writing my Christmas cards. As always I am late with everything... |

Celebrating with family again this year. Its a bit hectic christmas time noone really knows whats going on or where lol Putting the tree and other assorted decorations next week some time! :) |

As a rule, we don't go in much for nothing too fancy in these parts, but we make an exception for birthdays and Christmas, when we really push the boat out. There'll be a big spread on at the gaffer's this year, with Gumms coming from all over to join in the fun. Plenty of food (there'll need to be - we take some filling!) and a river of ale which never runs dry. I quite like the sound of YourValentine's cookies, I must say. Any chance of putting an order in? Discount for cash? |

I just bought Christmas cards and am now working on my Christmas list. I've got somewhere around 13 people! I spend Christmas at home with family. |
iGSM 30.11.2004 08:44 |
Ditto. People come to us. |
Sonia Doris 30.11.2004 13:36 |
i have a very lazy family. we will put the christmas tree only on christmas ever morning. but we get the presents sooner...!!! |
Janet 30.11.2004 14:09 |
Our tree is up and decorated. We usually put it up the Sunday after the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm writing out my Christmas cards now. I have a large family, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, all married. We have 10 children between us, and many of their children are married with children of their own, so our Christmas celebration is quite a large one. |

My cousins (my favorite one included) are coming here from all the way across the country. And then I go to my mother's parents' house on Christmas day in the morning through the afternoon (and have a big meal and open gifts) and then we go to my dad's parents' house for the night (where another big meal awaits and more gifts). On both sides there are a lot of people in my family but the most people are on my dad's side. I usually help my mum bake a lot of treats..cookies in particular. I still have so many gifts left I should buy....but I LOVE Christmas! We are already listening to Christmas music....Next weekend we are getting our Christmas tree.. I'm sooooooo excited! |
LiveAidQueen 30.11.2004 14:52 |
Well, I will probably be at my grandparents. They already bought a little tree. I don't really want anything this year...I get more joy out of buying people stuff. We will cook a big dinner...I can't wait! |

BAH.. Humbug... |

This Christmas is going to be strange, because my grandparents have always had a huge Christmas party, but she died this year. So, lots of confusion and new traditions. We're going to have brunch and exchange presents on Christmas Day, and then we're having dinner out at my aunt and uncle's house. We'll probably get our tree in two weeks, because I'm having my annual tree decorating party on the 17th. Then again, it's more like my friends and I putting a few ornaments on, getting bored and having my mom rearrange everything because she's crazy like that. :) |
Sonja 30.11.2004 16:25 |
Probably going on a short trip to an European city with my muslim friend who doesn't celebrate christmas anyway.... to get as far away from all that as possible. Been thinking about Paris, Dublin.. or anything... My family's in Brazil so I don't see the point in celebrating this holiday. |

I'm gonna have one of the best Christmases I've ever had. I hate Christmas as a rule, because over here it's summer and I get really tired of department stores playing wintery Christmas songs like 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland' and the commercialism. All my extended family live in Britain so for as long as I can remember my mum's had her friend's family over, which equals 11 people. The kids are all antisocial computer geeks and frankly, at Christmas there are a whole host of other things I'd rather talk about than LAN networks and Linux. But this year my dad is going to Scotland to see his folks in Dundee and because his flight is at 2pm on Christmas day so that means no big party and it'll just be me, mum, nice summery foods (no fucking turkey and ham) and copious quantities of wine. And some good CDs. One of about three times in my life I've looked forward to Christmas. |

I dont get to do much on Christmas. :( |
iGSM 01.12.2004 02:21 |
Sure, you don't get to 'do' much, *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* A wink's as good as a nod to a blind bat, say no more, say no ... more. Yeah, it being summer in the Southern Hemisphere sucks ass. Weather guy: Today it will be a relitavely cool 11 trillion degrees with chances of acid and lava rain. Me: Phew, it's going to be very cool indeed. So..yeah..trampolines! |
Taylor-Mayed 01.12.2004 11:04 |
I'll be going home on Friday the 10th probably. The following weekend I shall doubtless be going into the woods and stealing a Christmas tree, as per usual. One of these days we're going to run out of trees up there. And after that I shall at some point probably have to make a Christmas cake. |
Daburcor? 01.12.2004 13:21 |

important reminder to self don't forget to get copious amounts of Irish Whiskey in for Christmas Jameson's 1780, Black Bush, and Bushmills 1608 |
MayFan 01.12.2004 18:16 |
Already have the tree up. Need to finish the decorating. My wife leaves that to me. She says I do a better job than she would. I think she just likes that I do it. This year I have to work on Christmas day so that will suck. At least it's 3pm to 11pm so I will still be home in the morning. |

We're not even having the sodding tree this year. I'm still finding little bits of rogue tinsel from last year, even after copious vaccuumings AND on a new carpet! So much about Christmas is far more trouble than it's worth. Bah humbug. |
iron eagle 02.12.2004 17:24 |
this year will be very low key present and decorating wise we close on the house at the end of the month and move in so there really is no sense decorating all up amongst boxes i figure the house and new tv -- Samsung HLP-5085W 50'' DLP Projection TV -- is plenty...for now |
YourValentine 02.12.2004 17:54 |
I would not call a new house and new TV low key, Paul :)) |
SergeantPepperDG 02.12.2004 18:02 |
I've never celebrated Christmas. I'm goin' to limbo. Mwahaha. Since I was little, I was always mad when there were HUGE Christmas sections in stores, and one shelf of Hanukkah stuff, which consisted of pretty much gelt and blue plates. |
deleted user 02.12.2004 18:06 |
I wont be doing much. I put up my decorations and tree over the weekend. I might go out and do a bit of shopping for my family and maybe buy myself something soon. |
iron eagle 02.12.2004 19:26 |
YV--- true but the house was bought in march--- and the tv...well the tv was impulse buying *LOL* i do usually go all out though-- just no sense to unpack it--decorate--throw back in boxes and move right after xmas |
Mr.Jingles 02.12.2004 22:33 |
Our tree is up, the nativity set is done, and the Christmas present list I'm working on. We celebrate Christmas different from the American way, we have a big dinner on the 24th, then at midnight we open presents and pretty much spend the whole night enjoying all the presents. Christmas day we sleep until the afternoon, we watch TV, and eat leftovers from Christmas dinner. |
Mean Mistreater 03.12.2004 08:08 |
my tree was up, but my cat knocked it down last night and broke all the balls on it! still haven't started to clean up the mess yet. I won't be going home for christmas this year, but I'll do the regular....make a big christmas eve dinner, put the presents out late at night, and open in the morning then lay around all day bored |
Sonia Doris 03.12.2004 08:11 |
