I'm going to start teaching myself to play drums. I'm gonna use my brother's full drum kit (it's totally sweet). But, since I'm teaching myself, the only way I can learn is by playing along with other songs. I'm looking for recommendations on what songs I should start out playing along to. It can be any type of music, it just has to be suitable for a COMPLETE beginner.
Thanks in advance!
Well, I might be wrong, but Bohemian Rhapsody seems to have a fairly easy drum set to it.. and it haves the basic fills and all... of course I listen mostly for the guitar, so all I really hear is the snare and a few toms...
Didn't Roger say that Rock you is not really that easy to play, because you have a certain delay... Can't remember exactly, but it is on the Wembley Bonus DVD.
I'm teching myself to play drums too, since 2 years ago.
Really fun, I must say!
And what songs to play along to:
I guess some Beatles songs are very easy.
When I started drumming I practiced alone with the drumkit
and no other music.
I think maybe you should combine these two in some way?
obviously people in here dont know some musch about drumming or drumkits. To play drums in a band or just solo you need to learn quit a few things before you start fucking around. You need to know where to start, thats very important.Im a self taught drummer and it was hard getting things together.First of all you need to combine your hands and feets and develope a certine rutine with both hands and your right and left foot for each pedals.Songs like We will we will rock you and we are the champions are great new beginners songs for drums.
Hmmm, I am a drummer too. I play the drums for 4 years now and I am pretty good. I recognized the drum parts of Roger weren't that easy as I thought when I started. Explanation : most of the time Roger has an accent with his hi-hat when he hits the snare. He opens it and closed it. You must practise a lot too learn that. But it's a lot of fun if you can play it.
