I am from a little ol' state called Washington. No, not Washington D.C., but the state in the left hand corner. Within that state, I live in the city of Vancouver. Please do not mix that up with Vancouver B.C. Anyway....my point being....
I am in a ballet company. I have been dancing for 10 years, and I plan on choreographing a massive Queen production. I have some songs in mind....but if you wouldn't mind throwing some suggestions out, I would be most grateful to hear what you have to say. It wouldn't be classical ballet as everyone thinks of, but more of a neo classical, because it wouldn't be totally modern either. So yea....suggest away my little darlings.
alot of their music is great for the theater, that's why the we will rock you musical was a great idea. I would say early Queen, say "a day at the races and A night at the opera" era. Songs somebody to love, good old fashion lover boy, love of my life, lap of the gods, fairy fellas master stroke, freddie mercury songs fit the best.
Yeah....
In the lap of the gods is like....an opus. I had that era in mind (from Queen to A Day) But was just asking for more. Thanks, and cheers to you.
But there is already a ballet with Queen songs.
Actually 95% Queen 5% Mozart !
It's Maurice Bejart's "Ballet for Life" (original title "Le presbytère n'a rien perdu de son charme ni le jardin de son éclat")
I was one of the happy few at the premiere in Paris in 1997. Last time they played live with John.
It was released on VHS a few years ago. I have the video.
