Turkey tastes like cardboard. We're having honeybaked ham, stuffing, baked sweet yam and pumpkin pie.
We're having the whole family over for Thanksgiving dinner. I'm making cornbread muffins and a Jell-O mold, even though I'm not a huge fan of Jell-O. It is fun to see it end up tie-dyed like it did last year, though. I love this holiday, especially since we've always got enough leftovers to have Thanksgiving over and over again for a week or two!
I'm going to my grandparent's house as well where most of my family will be. Today or tomorrow I'm going to be helping my mum bake A LOT of different breads..pumpkin, banana, cinamon, carrot, cranberry, etc. And I'm sure I'll end up helping with other things as well. I have no school the rest of this week cos of Thanksgiving break. Yay!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

i'm going to my grandparents' house... avoiding the kitchen like i have been since i was little... lol
i always get in the way...
but we have a new chikadee for the kitchen this year, since my cousin got married in July
...but i think she might get in the way too... hehe she has a month left until i have a new baby cousin!!
...did you know they changed it from 9 months to 10 months?!
I told my mom that we should break the "tradition" of eating turkey, and have lobster instead. She liked that idea, but no one else was up for it. Oh well, we'll have lobster for New Years.
My parents are bringing friends over for Thanksgiving dinner.
One of them is a religious nut... last year she literally spent between 10 to 15 minutes giving thanks to God for everything ranging from health and money to the lint balls inside her belly button.
I really had a hard time trying not to bore myself to death.

Yeah, spending 10-15 mins giving thanks for the good things in life is horrible. Why couldn't she have commented on the bad stuff like every other cynical person in this world? What nerve.
My two cousins are coming to my family's house and staying for a couple of days. This has become tradition, so it's a lot of fun. :^)
I'm spending it with my family! Last year I stayed back in school and had Boston Market as my holiday meal...not as good as mom's turkey that's for sure. After 2 months of eating Campbell's soup and frozen pizza, I am so ready for home cooking!
& whoever asked for why we celbrate Thanksgiving, the historical aspect is that the Native Americans helped the pilgrims out by showing them how to plant crops like pumpkin and corn and after the harvest they celebrated the fact that they weren't going to starve for the winter with a big dinner. But nowadays Thanksgiving is basically turkey & football. ;)
Haha... I just finished helping my dad bake the apple pies. These things are GINORMOUS! He piles the apples like 6 inches high, and when they come out of the oven, it looks like a bomb had gone off inside of them. They're the best damn apples pies EVER!
Well I have to go to my grandparents early tomorrow morning and help her get started. I haven't spent Thanksgiving or Christmas with them in 5 years so this is going to be exciting! She's inviting all of her old friends. It's going to be a full house. I hope you all have a safe one and enjoy the food! :-)
