where were you when you first heard boheman rhapsody??
i was in my front room in front of the xmas tree in 1983(im so certain of the year because the works was the next album the did)
i gave my stepdad queen's platinum album cd and he put on bohemian rhapsody. i was unfortunantly trapped inside a caravan at the time, but i fell i love with the song straightaway!
I was sitting around my house back in 75 and it came on the radio. I distinctly remember two things: 1.This song and band were gonna be huge, and 2. They were gonna be "my band." lol, they still are!
Back in 1991, I think it was just after Freddie died, and (I was five at the time) it was back in the charts and the first thing I remembered was watching the "Galileo" bit and I was thinking "what the hell is going on?" I never thought I would become addicted to it.
I was at home watching a classic rock station on television (it doesn't play videos, just the songs) when Bohemian Rhapsody came on. I'd actually only ever heard a few songs, and Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't one of them, so I just sat there, riveted, the entire time it was on! :)
I had been in the car for about seven hours, and I was becoming delirious. My brother turned on the radio, and "Bohemian Rhapsody" was on. I screamed, "TURN THIS OFF! IT SUCKS!"
Yes, I'm horrified when I look back on this. And this was only like a year and a half ago.
11 years old , 1991 , December , Mtv , and they just did an Mtv News Report featuring the MercuryPhoenix Trust , and about Freddie. They then went to Commercial Break then played a Led Zeppelin Video (yes the led zep) the song was Over The hills and Far away. Then followed it with Bohemian Rhapsody and the Animated version of These are the days of our lives and it was after dark I remember that much because It was also Sunday and I just got finished watching NFL football on the tele.
Phwoar.. I'd probably heard it a long time ago in the mid '90s but I really only heard it (and it wasn't actually Queen playing it) in 2002 when the subject of Bohemian Rhapsody came up in unfortunate circumstances. The girl who mentioned started singing the operatic part and I thought 'Man, this shit be whack!'..of course I didn't know at the time that the part she had sung wasn't the entirety of Bohemian Rhapsody.
I probably made 9 grammarians in the audience die then.

It was in '73, when I was playing piano and suddenly had all the ideas that this buck-toothed bugger eventually nicked from me...
I was at my senior prom, and a friend of mine requested it, then asked me to dance. Of course, at the time, while I wasn't paying particular attention to the song, I also didn't think much of it. Now I have a very different opinion, obviously!
Ja ne.
i probably first heard it on Wayne's World, but i can remember... other then that, my friends singing it to me at school in the maths corridor! they couldnt remember how the song went, then they remembered and started singing it all lunch! then, a month later, i bought the greatest hits albums and listened to it on a bus in England...good times, great classic hits!
At home, on my dad's ANATO vynil... 2 yrs ago (although I probably heard it before on the same vynil, but thought it was crap). Wait a second! I remember the exact date: twas exactly a year after 9/11... yup, exactly on 11th September 2002. This is silly, but when it comes to talking about 9/11, the memory of the day I've fallen in love w. them pops in my mind.
Hmm.. I was very young, maybe 9-11 years old. My dad had Greatest Hits I & 2 and Greatest Flix 1 & 2 too. I liked Hits/Flix 2. Because I liked it, I decided to listen part 1 too.
BoRhap was first song of the record. I thought it was strange and I liked only the opera part cos it was funny. Hehe. Later I realized how amazing that song was.
