After reading Lesters rant, I have come to the same conclusion as everyone else. The reason for the massive increase in banal posts is all down to folk trying to increase their post count. I don't know about anyone else but I couldn't gine a tinkers cuss how many posts I have made since joining Queenzone and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they disappeared altogether. Does anyone else feel that protective of their post count and if not, is there any way Richard or Barbera could get rid of them? I'm not making demands or anything. It's just something to consider. Discuss. fatty |

"is there any way Richard or Barbera could get rid of them?" I was wondering that myself a long time ago. Lately, I have been very cautious of my "ridiculous" posts trying not to be too bad. The reason why my posts were horrible was cos I was using them as a conversation.. it's not entirely cos they were "thoughtless." But anyhow, I would love to see the post count go. |

Abolish it. For equality and advancement. Somebody should definitely work full time as Queenzone's spam blocker or whatever you call that. |
MexQueenFM 16.11.2004 18:08 |
i wouldn't give a french's ass if my post count goes away |
Mr Mercury 16.11.2004 18:23 |
Couldnt agree with you more Fatty. And while we are at it, why dont they do away with all that "marquee" scrolling text shit as well? |
deleted user 16.11.2004 18:38 |
Instead of post counts, why don't we "grade" or "categorize" posters on their behavior in the boards? It works pretty well in the other forum I post in. |

when i was a child, growing up in the mojave desert, my father took me aside and said: all the sky the eagle flies is your sky. all the rivers the salmon swim are your rivers.all the land the bear walks is your land. but remember this child, if you dont get at least a thousand posts on the queenzone noticeboard you aint worth fuck all. and to this day....i aint worth fuck all.weird or what? |
Music Man 16.11.2004 19:17 |
I don't think it has anything to do with post counts...just private conversations on a public board I assume. People will still post massive amounts of things without the post counter just to keep things moving on the board; I try to keep things moving as well. Also, people like to have their opinions heard. |
deleted user 16.11.2004 19:21 |
It can't be denied that some *cough* Hem *cough* here pay attention to post count, considering they have posted topics about how many they have gotten, etc, etc... |
MetzgerR 16.11.2004 19:37 |
I think the vast majority of us don't really care whether or not we have a post count...I see nothing wrong with abolishing them, certainly. Ja ne! |
pma 16.11.2004 19:45 |
Disable post counts. Bring back the "Registered since *insert date here* feature. [whisper]Upgrade to phpbb with private messaging...[/whisper] |
deleted user 16.11.2004 19:53 |
Having the private messaging function here would be cool. :^) |

Oh come on the place would come crashing down if peeps cant see their post counts.... could you imagine the sheer uprising--- they would rebel i tell you rebel...... they might even leave and go to another board that would have post counts.... :-( oh dear |
LiveAidQueen 16.11.2004 20:02 |
I like to look at my post number, but it wouldn't matter if they were taken off. |
Brimon 16.11.2004 20:04 |
Yes, I agree with getting rid of the post count, as it does seem to be the main bone of contention around here, at the moment. |
Megamike The GREAT 16.11.2004 20:25 |
I agree.. |
SergeantPepperDG 16.11.2004 20:35 |
My post count makes me feel powerful... Just kidding. Don't worry. |
Janet 16.11.2004 20:59 |
I never even look at my post count. I couldn't care less if they got rid of it. |
Daburcor? 16.11.2004 21:19 |
I don't give a rats ass about post my count. |
Matti 16.11.2004 21:41 |
Yeah. Who cares? |
iGSM 16.11.2004 21:49 |
Meh. I'm not fussed *protects post count* |
Saint Jiub 16.11.2004 22:40 |
I would be slightly disappointed if my post count disappeared, but I would easily get over it. I see no harm with removing post counts, but please do not replace with sign up date. |
Flashman 17.11.2004 03:21 |
I think we should keep the blasted thing, if only to teach folk like Dark and HeM the value of numbers. |
dragonzflame 17.11.2004 15:48 |
I'm not that fussed - maybe I would be a little bummed if it disappeared but like Rip Van Winkle said, I'd get over it. Having said that, I'd like to become a Deity before my birthday (end of Jan) just because...actually I don't know why! Really though, people *cough* Hem *cough* fail to realise that the post count means sod all here. |
deleted user 17.11.2004 17:20 |
Yes, but it's fun to look at! haha...It's like a hobby. That's kind of pathetic, but harmless if it's not being taken advantage of (The worthless topics)... |

I don't know if it would be possible, but if we could have some sort of system where we rate each other, then people would probably put a lot more effort into their posts, because they'd want to get a good rating. Or we should somehow make it about quality rather than quantity. |

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, so much hard work I've put for it |
YourValentine 18.11.2004 04:22 |
I don't think it's the post count alone that makes people post crap like mad. I have a feeling it got worse since we have all these new "titles" like Rocker and Bohemian etc. Apparently, nobody wants to be a "newbie" and they post like their lives depend on it until they are at least a "Royalty" :) I agree that the old board was much better in this respect because it showed the registration date and post count, so that nobody could "post away" the fact that they only registered 2 weeks ago. Btw, I feel a bit ridiculous being a "deity" ! Also, on the new board topics disappear from the first page much faster, so good topics don't have the time to "develop" like they used to on the old board. |
Bohardy 18.11.2004 07:13 |
Just get rid of the new board I say. It's so obvious. |
Penetration_Guru 18.11.2004 15:37 |
Why not just ban the people who are obviously obsessing over it? It's not like they have anything constructive to say... |

Penetration_Guru wrote: Why not just ban the people who are obviously obsessing over it? The Real Wizard 23.11.2004 01:09 |
I once lost 500 posts, and I didn't care. Take us back to zero... doesn't matter to me. It has already been said: it's about quality, not quantity. |
Fenderek 23.11.2004 08:04 |
Couldn't care less- if it's going to help... Someone who had been here for year-two will be recognised anyway... |

geeksandgeeks 24.11.2004 12:47 |
Perhaps we should have a designated "wank your post count for all its worth" thread for all of the idiocy. Then the rest of us don't have to listen to it. Undoubtably you think that I should receive the Nobel Prize, at least, for this thought. Only problem would be, it probably wouldn't work so well. |
KillerQueen840 24.11.2004 13:13 |
I don't think HeM is the biggest problem any more. Take a look at the notice boards and maybe you'll catch my drift. |
