I think they are: -Rock it (full version), I know only the Buenos Aires version (is it the unique one??) -Flash medley (incl.Battle and Vultans theme) -Life is real, I know two versions in New Jersey and Chicago -Lazing on the sunday a. -Great king Rat (full vers.) I think there are also few versions of Teo Toriatte and Need your lovin tonight. Does anyone indicate me something else? PS: Does exist any recording or a concrete evidence of Sleeping on the sidewalk live? I heard they performed once or twice in 1977. |

I heard they performed once or twice in 1977.Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon isn't difficult to be found on the Internet, but it was played very few times because the band though that it didn't work fine on stage. Sleeping On a Sidewalk was never played live, according to Greg Brooks. But THIS MONTH Brian, Roger and guests played it on Russia, for a TV show, I think. This is not the same, but it's a live version... :-) Teo Torriate was played on pratically all Queen concerts in Japan from 1976 to 1985 (after 85 they never played there again). I think there's only one or two rare exceptions. But they NEVER played it on any other country, what explains the "rare" nature of a live performance of this song. |

When I saw Queen in 82 in Philadelphia they opened the show w/ Rock It. A single spot picked up Freddie as he sang the intro. Roger joined in on the repeat just like the album. They plowed through it, & after the solo worked into WWRY fast. I never heard another version of it. All my other HS shows open like MK does. |

Sleeping On The Sidewalk, off Course. They Play This Once. In November, 1977, In U. S. A., But The song didn't work well, so they drop the song of the set. Thank You, God Bless You, Sweet Dreams You Lot Of Tarts. Goodbye |

An old Queen trading friend from California told me a story once about a show he saw in the mid 70's (I'm thinking 1976/77) where some guy in the audience kept shouting out for 'The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke' and finally, to shut him up presumably, Freddie broke into an impromptu ver. of the tune..not sure if anyone else joined in..it was short, but he says a bit of it was played! If the story is true, that might take the prize for rarest Queen song ever performed live! - Kamen |

Procession, live versión is rare no isn't? and one more question there was a special reason when Queen played Inmigrant Song (you know, how they played Imagine)

Las Palabras De Amor. It wasn't played live actually, though before one of Hot Space shows they rehearsed it, but it was on TOTP (sadly mimic). And now and again: Fun It. There's a lot of rumors about Sleeping On A Sidewalk, Fairy Feller's, Nevermore, but only Fun It proved by bootleg recording. |

"The Fairy Feller´s Master Stroke" Apparently, according to Greg Brook´s book "A Concert Documentary", it was played only once; but as it did not work on stage because of its complex musical structure, it was never played again. However, I think there is no record of this version. If anyone knows something about it, please tell me!!!! |
Pim Derks 14.11.2004 20:17 |
I'm 99.9% sure they did NOT play Dear Friends. Maybe a typo on the sleeve, they did play You're My Best Friend. Queenconcerts.com doesn't list it either. |
FriedChicken 14.11.2004 20:25 |
"And now and again: Fun It. There's a lot of rumors about Sleeping On A Sidewalk, Fairy Feller's, Nevermore, but only Fun It proved by bootleg recordings" Even with the slightest bit of common sense you can find out they never played Fairy feller. Nevermore could've been great as a piano intro to some other song. |
Zizzu 15.11.2004 07:40 |
Ok. Anyone can tell me now how many recordings survive of a rare song; for example how many recordings are known of Life is Real? and for other rare songs... |

i have two recordings of the intro of fun it: Chicago 78 and Berlin 79. Which concert from Paris has it too? There is "My Fairy King" which was never played but an intro was played in 1985 in Japan. I think it's the concert of 15/05/85 but i'm not sure. I have two recordings of Life Is Real (New Jersey 82 and Chicago 82) but it might have been played more times. The problem is that we have quite few recordings of concerts of Queen so we don't know many things... |
Mr. Scully 16.11.2004 02:21 |
Dear Friends was definitely NOT played live. Never. Teo Torriatte was played in Japan so many times that it can hardly count as "rare song". Fun It or Las Palabras were just very short intros, don't know if they can count. I vote for Sleeping On The Sidewalk with one, max. two appearances in the setlist. Even Jesus or Night Comes Down were played more times, I'm sure. |
Benn 16.11.2004 07:21 |
I'd say that the rarest live song Queen played would be White Christmas - somewhere in the US in '78........ |
Mr. Scully 16.11.2004 09:12 |
Yes, White Christmas is a good bet. Rock It, Flash's Theme or Procession were played relatively often. |

If your talking about non Queen songs then Mannish Boy must be up there as well from glasgow 1977.Also I have an interview with Roger on tape from 86 where he says that the band used to play Rip it Up by Elvis on stage.I Know The cross used to play it but that was long after this interview.Anybody heard Queen do it? |
