Ive watched a lot of Queen concerts including the new Queen On Fire concert, and i've noticed Freddie interacts with Brian and Roger regularly but never John, is there a reason for this? My opinion is John is very shy and didn't want Freddie gallobanting around him in public. |

I noticed that John hangs around Roger's drums a lot on stage. He bops around and they smile at each other...kinda cool. |

If Freddie pisses John off, he definitely won't get paid, so Fred keeps his distance. But, then again... link |
Fairyfeller 11.11.2004 02:50 |
indeed, but uhm...I've actually seen them interact quite a lot of times |
Regor 11.11.2004 04:25 |
I've seen them interact a lot, too. So nothing to worry about. By the way, it's natural that he steps onto Rogs drumriser a lot - Bass and Drums form the basis of the song, so they have to be tight and really understand each other without words. Being a bassist myself, I keep frequent eye-contact with our drummer as well. John Paul Jones and Bonzo (watch "The song remains the same") are maybe the archetypical rock rythm-section, but John and Rog come close in terms of tightness. |

I agree with Regor. The drummer and the bass guitarplayer must communicate more that the other instruments.. |
Benn 11.11.2004 07:53 |
I would suggest that their relationship was perhaps stronger than any of the others in the band. John was the last member to join and, like Freddie, had not been around "since the beginning". If you look at early live shows, Freddie is constantly "playing" with John (which was a great way to alleviate John's shyness). When John felt more at ease on stage in later years, there was less need for the by-play between the two. Add to that the fact that Queen were then playing more of John's songs which would also have given him more piece of mind....... As for the archetypal rythm section, you need look no frther than Keith Moon and John Entwistle - the two greatest free-form players on their instruments that were soley responsible for grounding the most explosive band in history. |

I agree with Benn. But remember almost every great rock band has to have the bass player in synch with the drummer that why JD always stood along side RT. They had to play in synch otherwise the whole band would be "off". Kriz ;o) |

John Deacon is shy, but he's such a nice person. Freddie doesn't quite often interact with John on stage. But they could find it well with each other. They went to Japan together on holiday, I believe and they wrote songs together ;-). For me Queen consisted of 2 strong couples: Roger and Brian Freddie and John |
Serry... 11.11.2004 16:04 |
Well, why don't you ask why doesn't John interact with Freddie?? But answering your question I'd say: maybe John didn't wanted it and asked Freddie about? I dunno, but why not? |

Freddie with Brian- air guitar with his magic mic wand Freddie with John- air bass? |
juls 12.11.2004 03:29 |
er yes,and the stiffest interaction between Brian and John is during Dragon Attack, seen on the WWRY DVD. ;-)) |
brian_may_wannabe 12.11.2004 05:29 |
Have they had an argument together thatv we don't know about? Yet, they both wrote Friends Will Be Friends and Pain Is So Close To Pleasure. |
icmrocha (The Man From Planet Marzipan) 12.11.2004 06:02 |
well, i think he DOES interact with John... i mean, that "go, johnny, go!" thing.... |

" Why doesn't Freddie interact with John Deacon " Maybe because one of them has been dead for the past 13 years ;) |
j0ck3 12.11.2004 08:48 |
They interact real well during Liar. I dont know about the '82 performances of Liar. They didn't interact with each other during '84's version of Liar (AS IT IS PLAIN CRAP). |
NOTWMEDDLE 12.11.2004 15:54 |
Freddie and John collaborated on three songs together: Cool Cat Pain Is So Close to Pleasure Friends Will Be Friends John was the worst devastated out of the three members when Freddie passed away. John and Freddie were very close. Roger and Brian have known each other and played together since 1967 in Smile. |

*walks off with Kevo's coat* I found it amusing the Taylor-May interview on Live at the Bowl where Roger told Brian to shaddup.. Except I didn't approve of when Brian started to rap God Save the Queen...shocking, shocking, shocking. |

I Think It's because John Is Shy, But Off The Stage hey Were Friends. they Spent Hollydays Together And Wrote Songs together. Thank You, God Bless You, Sweet Dreams You Lot Of Tarts. Goodbye |

Perhaps John was too ugly for Freddie to notice him :)... |
redyfredy01 13.11.2004 19:19 |
I have noticed that and i just thought that John didn't want to be noticed. If Freddie went over to him on stage then everyone wound look at John, so i think thats why he stayed in the shaddows or around Roger's drums. I saw in the Music video of Liar, John and Roger start having a conversation while the camera is filming. I thought that was funny. I have also noticed that John stays around Roger most in picures i have seen. Its strange, but kinda cute, the way they always hang around each other. I also see things that people wrote on a different topic that John never smiles, but if you think about it and look at some of the pictures, none of them really smile. |

As for F&J songs: Don't Try So Hard is F+B, but Rain Must Fall is F+J F&J interaction: Maybe not so much in a dick-biting kind of way, but I think they had their moments, like when Fred sang part of the RnR medley in Budapest while his hand was in John's shoulder. But most their interaction was musical, when Fred played the piano and John doubled the left hand part in the bass, they were very connected, like in Millionaire Waltz or Bo Rhap J&R: Interesting in Wembley when John sang backing vocals in Roger's mike during Baby I Don't Care. J&B: I haven't find them laughing or something like that. Mostly when they're together it's the two of them serious, consumate playing their instruments, like in those Princes Trust things they went to. R&B: I don't see much interaction between them on stage. Of course they were and are friends, but imo Fred was closer to both than they were to each other |

I'm really sorry, but using their on stage-behaviour (or even their public appearances) as an indicator for their personal relationships is heuristically useless. It says nothing. |

And of course it doesn't have any relation with the fact Fred interacted with the three of them more than they with each other. |
