Why is the ending so abrupt on the song. It sounds like an mp3 file that didn't complete it's download.
Also does anyone wonder why the song have a punk vibe, even though when it was supossedely written in 1974, when punk was still a very underground genre of the New York and London music scene.
The way I think about it, the song's talking about a heart attack - so they're getting you pumped up, REALLY get you going with the breakneck pace, and then all of a sudden, it stops, leaving your heart pounding and breathless. For those with heart problems and listening to that song for the first time, I can't imagine that being a pleasant experience.
Secondly, I imagine the song took on a completely different approach from when it was originally written to when it was finally released. I think it's also been confirmed that not all of the song was written in 1974, so that could mean that only the lyrics were written, or that maybe a melody was thought of but not completed. Either way, the song probably sounded radically different in 1974 than it did in 1977, when it received a makeover to be more 'punk'.

A metal song? Wow. I always thought of it as a punk rocker. I listen to it full blast
with my headphones and THAT is awesome.
Talking about abrupt endings, I simply love the transition from sped-up rocking song,
to the piano intro of All Dead.
lol i was just listening to it and thinking the same thing about how it makes the transition to all dead...but i agree...i thought of it as metal when i first heard it years and years ago...but no denying the punk sound
News Of The World was being recorded at the same time as Never Mind The Bollocks and in part at the same studio. I wonder whether that had some influence on SHA?
It may have a punk attitude, but the production is very precise, the guitar sound is fat and drums and bass are thight - it doesnt sound as raw and dirty as e.g. Sex Pistols songs. Queen absorbing punk and making it their own. Brilliant !
I love the track - carried me through several downs and split-ups. Great for letting off steam !
Even if it sounds weird, it is maybe, together with You take my breath away, the most important Queen-Track for me on an emotional level.
