About illness, where he get HIV, last pics - I agree, but what's wrong with topics about his last recordings? We talking about studio recording he made for fans, not about the tapes from a hidden magnetophone under his bed in his last days...
Well, it can be depressing, if you look at it that way.
You can dwell on the fact that Freddie died of aids, and is no longer here. Or you can just ignore those posts with regards that these people, are in fact, Queen fans as well. You gotta give them that much, eh? It isn't disrespecting Freddie in any way.
But I can see your point as well.
CLTCS: most of the 'oldies' don't post on that, just the newbies who want things confirmed and stuff, so if we educate them well, we should be able to reduce those posts in a week or two ;)
Just be happy we got a new wave of qz-ers :D
But I do agree, I mean...it's not all fred, and he actually spent more time living than dieing.
Burn all the Made In Heaven records!!! ;)
No hard feelings, Sonia- couldn't resist...
Agree that all those topics about AIDS are just stupid... Not because of respect blah blah blah- just freaking boring...
Crazy_Little_Thing_Called_Sonia wrote: it's nothing wrong. but, in my humble opinions, there are too many discussions on that...dunno, makes me quite depressed...
I can't see the big difference between unreleased sessions from 'News of the world' era and post-'Innuendo' times - if we'd talk about 'Feelings Feelings' - that's okay, but if about 'A Winter's Tale' - that's a sin??? And, don't want to insult you, but it's strange to me that Queen fan says: it's boring to read about their unreleased songs (from the lastest sessions)... So what is fun for you then?
I hate all those newbie posts about Freddie's partners, size of everything Freddie could have etc. and that's why I've never reply there, but unreleased sessions and records... I dunno. It's my opinion!
And the person that you have to say 'stop it' is Mr Freestone with his book that is full of details Freddie wouldn't let the world to know, I guess...
I think we can all agree we're not too happy about the newbie posts, I mean: new releases and all...that's a drewl subject every time...
No offence on the newbies, we'll just have to get them informed asap
Yeah, inform them, redirect them to former topics with the same subject and let their topics drop out. A little education is needed sometimes.
But I don't think talking about Fred's last recordings is disturbing. If that's disturbing, then how do you call things like "Did Fredddie shave his balls" or "Was he the postman or the letterbox", or even "Freddie Murcary, HIV, AIDS"?!
i think some people on here are (quite frankly) bizarre and existing (note i didn't say living) in some kinda alternate reality....
there are lots of threads on here that annoy, irritate, amuse, upset, anger, interest, bore, - you name it - a discussion forum is intended to create response...and good or bad they certainly do just that!
as for people who get "upset, offended, or depressed? (really????) by threads - one solution - read the title - if you think it'll cause something "bad" to happen to your emotional well-being - then avoid reading the post....
or alternatively....grow up
there has NEVER been anything on here that's upset/depressed me...a few things have annoyed or irritated...but we have a choice people - ignore them - or get stuck in!!! make your choices and stop complaining about free speach
I think that asking about last recordings or everything related to queen material is not wrong, we all love Freddie and Queen like you and we don't want to offend his memory.
Crazy_Little_Thing_Called_Sonia wrote: So many stupid topics about freddie's illness, last recordings, etc... You know...that's really boring and disturbing!!!
stop it, will ya?
I agree with you...I also dislike talking about his illness in detail such as when/where he got HIV and so on...I think those must have bothered his peaceful rest... I can't understand why some people want to know about such things in detail. I wonder what do they do with knowing those things?
What's the purpose? I don't mean we keep our eyes from the truth, but too much talking about it will hurt his memories. I want them to be delicate a little more about talking or choosing topics...
Hmm...about last recordings...it's a rather sensitive topic, too I think.
In my case...I've never thought about his last recordings in detail...I mean ...thinking about it leads me to imagining about the serious state of his illness... it has still been hard for me.
But as the one repecting his whole works so much, I know I'd rather or I must overcome my sadness of thinking about it. It will take a little more time, I think...I know I must be stronger a little and I must accept his last work without being emotional.
But, in the case of unreleased songs, it's quite natural for many people to want to know about it.
However, I think talking with each other about such topic which CLTCS has raised would be somewhat positive.
We all have a problem. Well maybe I shouldn't call it a problem, maybe it's a delma. Whatever the situation is...I think we do not know how to let go of the things we treasure deerly and like Phil Collins says, "Why should I have to stop loving you?...Why Should I...Why should I even try??? And these I think are the questions that need to be answered first! Sincerely....Queenette XOXO
No offense, but if it really disturbs you, then either A) Don't read it (a novel idea!) or B)create YOUR own forum with YOUR own rules that follow to what YOU specifically want. Ugh...that sounded downright rude.
What I meant was people are going to post things that you don't like, especially newbies. But don't rant about it if you deliberatley choose to read them.
Cheers.
I read two or three of them, but I soon stopped reading...though I also have thought about it some times and I have read some books and articles such as Mr. Freestones's some times before.
I wonder I'm thought of having been ranting?
No, I didn't mean to do so, but it seems I wrote too much...
If what I wrote makes many people more tired or disturbing, I must reflect that.
I guess I must grow up...
That's the forum...I've realized.
