It says that new material and tourplanning is to be planned this chrismas... It´s gonna be under the Queen banner and Roger and Brian will sing some songs and the last singer will be Paul Rodgers formerly of Free and Bad Company... He is very good by the way,,, I´m excited.... :) |

If it's true - great. Paul Rodgers is a great singer, I only know a few tracks though. Can't get worse then Britney, so .... :D I seriously doubt it's true though. |

1st: Why do we have to get a membership to see this interview? 2nd: Why isn't Brian telling this in his Soapbox? 3rd: Shit! All that crap again? |

I saw them in Modena 2003 for "Pavarotti & Friends".One of the best days in my life! And I want to see them again! |

The interview is also printed in today's edition of the Austrian newspaper "Kurier" (3 November 2004, p. 29, title: "Wir müssen die Geschichte fortsetzen"). |

"once Brian and Roger get WWRY sorted" so, that's like - NEVER? There's always some stupid new joke to be added to the South-Indian version, or a songchange in the Eastern-Mongolia version. |
Mr Mercury 03.11.2004 18:03 |
Couldnt agree more with you Pim. |

I won't believe till I see the tickets go on sale and it doesn't include WWRY |
iGSM 03.11.2004 18:43 |
< *ironic trumpet sound effect* I was thinking the same thing. Anyway, holy fucking bat fuckers! They better tour Australia because I'll fucking go beserk and kill someone. Uh...yeah.. so if they don't that'll mean I won't. But nonetheless this will/would be highly cool. No doubt there'll be people on this board saying 'LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!111 QUEN ISNT QUENE! W/OUT FREDY! LOLLOLO)L O!L!!K!M! Or for the more eloquent... Queen can’t tour for the reason that Queen is for all intents and purposes Freddie, John, Brian and Roger and devoid of Freddie and John there is no Queen! Why are a number of people incapable of discerning this straightforward modest actuality! Awaken up and get a whiff of the coffee! |
Adam Baboolal 03.11.2004 18:46 |
If it is true, then what I heard from Brian about WWRY in London could very well be true. That it will be finished after a three year run. But yes, skepticism is a good thing right now. I went on a search and heard a couple of PR's songs. Not bad. Would be interested to hear more from him. So, all very interesting, but I'll wait and see from Brian's site. Peace, Adam. |
Shane Jazz 03.11.2004 19:02 |
Recently Brian said that Freddie greatly admired some of Paul's work with Free and Bad Company. And he really was impressive. TYMD could be really ace with PR on vocals, in a similar way that he sings Feel Like Makin' Love. |
Mr Mercury 03.11.2004 19:09 |
As one who actually saw Paul Rodgers live in concert a couple of years ago, I can tell you that his voice is better than ever. And if this proposed tour were too be true and he appeared on stage then I would only be too delighted |
iGSM 03.11.2004 19:13 |
So who is playing bass? Gene Simmons? |
Boy Thomas Raker 03.11.2004 20:58 |
Shot down by Brian on his soapbox. Surprise, surprise. |
joeyjojo 03.11.2004 22:17 |
If they did reform, they should just call themselves 'Que' |
AlexRocks 03.11.2004 22:39 |
That's pretty funny JoeyJoJo! Except I am trying to run up support for their return! Why would WWRY end in three years or what have you? Would it be by choice or because they think that is when the success with it will end? If by choice why would they end it then? |
Adam Baboolal 03.11.2004 22:54 |
It pays to be a skeptical!
AlexRocks wrote: Why would WWRY end in three years or what have you? Would it be by choice or because they think that is when the success with it will end? If by choice why would they end it then? The "three years" thing: 1. The venue in London is looking at the next show to bring in. And 2. Brian said this may be the most amount of time the London show will run for. So, it's partially by choice. And the other idea is that the venue will want to move on sometime. But who knows what will happen. This is just what Brian was saying a while back. Peace, Adam. |
Scirocco1977 04.11.2004 02:35 |
Check Brian's soapbox... |
Borhap80 04.11.2004 02:56 |
Is it possible... ????? Yes there´s always been rumours through the years.... I know... Still... is this interview manufactured ?? It clearly states what they said.. or ??? This is insane... |
The Mir@cle 04.11.2004 02:56 |
I'm having a dejavu by reading these posts... How many times did some newspaper or website make us happy with crap before?? I'm now a little bit more sceptical by reading such posts. I dare to say I'll eat my socks if Brian will confirm such rumours one day. |
Kai Kurgan 04.11.2004 05:04 |
Save your socks. Brian just denied this rumour on his homepage - again |
pineapplehead2 04.11.2004 05:53 |
All I can say, It;s not Queen with out Freddie. And if theres a member mission, then theres no Queen, sry its just the way I feel |
claire! 14985 04.11.2004 06:13 |
should be interesting! hope they won't get someone to replace Freddie because no one can. |
iGSM 04.11.2004 06:22 |
I could. All I need is a moustache. And the ability to play the piano. And guitar. And have a vocal range of 3 and a half octaves. But that's about all. Oh and a fine lyric writing ability. |
Scirocco1977 04.11.2004 08:07 |
Would be also helpful to have a terminal disease so you can write haunting songs... |
redyfredy01 04.11.2004 10:28 |
Are they seriously going to call themselves Queen? I don't appreciate that because it just isn't Queen without Freddie. And is John Deacon in it two? This is too much to take at one time considering that i was thinking about what it would be like if Queen was a band again, just this morning. This is so, hard to believe!!! finally my friends will understand why i love Queen so much!!!! |
The Mir@cle 04.11.2004 10:52 |
They still call themselves Queen. And I don't have any problem with that. |
Regor 04.11.2004 10:58 |
Sorry, mate, but once again: Rumour denied by Dr. Brian May himself on his soapbox on brianmay.com ! No Tour, no Songs, no Paul Rodgers This will never end - the same with rumours about Pink Floyd in original "Post Syd Barrett"-Lineup, Genesis in original "from 2nd-Album to Lamb lies down..."-Lineup and Police "after Henri Padovani"-Lineup - or as brought up recently Summers, Copeland and... Ziggy Marley !?! All of it utter nonsense ! |

Yes, some things are true. I am the webmaster of the Austrian Queen Fan Club and i have a short soundfile with Roger - really, no joke here - where he actually says that there is a Queen Album planned and also a tour! The Membership in our Fanclub is absolutely free, and in our Member-section you can "hear" the Interview. No joke - really. Won't do this if it has no background!! Rock On manuel |
The Mir@cle 05.11.2004 13:28 |
So why does Brian denies this?? Was the interview alone with Roger and didn't Brian know about this interview?? Brianmay.com: None of this is true ! Bri Submitted via qfc: In today's "Kurier" (a well-known and widely read Austrian newspaper) Roger and Brian announced they're collaborating on new music under the name of Queen to be released in 2005 (cf. "Kurier" of Nov. 3rd, 2004, p. 29), and added that they also planned to tour with the new as well as old material, employing Paul Rodgers from The Free as their guest singer replacing (or standing in for, rather) Freddie. Artur |
Hank H. 05.11.2004 14:15 |
There's a huge difference between "is planned" and "is being considered" by the way. What words did Roger use? The article in the German magazine "Stern" quotes BriRog, but they do NOT say they are going to tour/record songs. They merely say they would like to, but on the other hand have other things to do. That's what they have been saying for years, which means there is absolutely no news, so if you have better things to do than speculate: don't waste your time with it. |
M. 05.11.2004 16:20 |
Roger Taylor: ".... I think we intend to work more together. I think after sort of Christmas this year we will sort of completely slow down on the We Will Rock You front and maybe concentrate on, you know, some new studio work and maybe some live work ...." |
Manuel Benes 06.11.2004 03:15 |
Correct. It's from the same Interview. Maybe Brian denies it, because they will announce it later after the work for the Musical is slowing down. Manuel |
Hankster 06.11.2004 06:54 |
I don't put all my hopes on it. This kind of 'one more tour'-news is nothing new, and the bandmembers saying that it's not true is also nothing new. But .. hell .. Rog said it, right? So my first thought was when I read Bri's reaction in his soapbox 'maybe they will come with the official news later when WWRY is al slowed down'.. I don't know .. it would be the coolest thing .. but ye, there is nothing official yet, so let's wait.. |
Roger_in_Tigerskin_Trousers 06.11.2004 07:58 |

dream-team 'Robbie Williams, George Michael and Tony Vincent' would be great for the tour ;) But I agree with the point that they shouldn't use a guest vocalist for new studio stuff. I think they did a great job with No-One But You and they should do the vocals for the album too .. if there will be an album ever .. I don't even see a kind of Made in Heaven II (use old Freddie vocals with new instruments by Bri and Rog and maybe John ..)happen in the next few years. Few years .. they are getting older of course .. and there will be a day that they just can't do it anymore... |
QueenZeppelin 06.11.2004 09:47 |
Maybe Roger Taylor is touring by himself. He's become delusional and thinks all three other members are going with him. |
lodger 06.11.2004 10:22 |
If Brian wants to be a wise guy, If he doesn't want to discredit their past works, and wants to be respectful for it, If he doesn't want to take the risk to be blamed for using the memory of Freddie as a commercial argument, If he is clever enough to see that it would quickly become ridiculous, If he doesn't want pathetic remakes like the recent virtual Elvis shows ! If Brian is faithfull to his lost friend, ...He would NEVER EVER come back with Roger, and even John, under the name of Queen, to play older Queen songs and write new ones. And that's fine. I'm sure (hope so) Brian is like I said. Believe me, I'm really sad that I have never seen a Queen concert, especially for the early years. But precisely, I do not want to break the myth with an impossible come back. I prefer that the laymen discover the group for the best they have done (in my opinion, and definitively, the 5 first albums) than with the worst. That's the better way for the works of those four guys to be honoured, and to cross the time. There is the real reason for them to be proud, and confident enough, for accepting the idea of not trying a Queen-like come back. Freddie died, and we have to accept this idea, as Brian did. Unfortunately, this is the way it goes. Was it all worth it ? Yes ! So, no need to cheat. |
The Mir@cle 06.11.2004 11:03 |
We will see. I have no expectations, I don't wanna be disappointed again. And if the rumours al true this time, I'm the first one who buys a ticket. |
Adam_C 06.11.2004 11:26 |
The musical isn't "slowing down", which is why it has been extended from its original 3 year contract, which by the way ends in April of next year and Brian said closure isn't in the forseeable future it's selling too well which is why they are now booking until October 2005. Queen are too old for a reunion now, the musical is the only way forward to remember the music. We all know there is no Queen without Freddie and everyone should have known that for the past 12 years, if it was going to happen it would have happened by now, not when 12 years down the line both Brian and Roger are heading into late 50's. Queen finished touring 18 years ago. |
